I hope you can find value from the experience i had on this boulder and apply it to your own climbing :) Feels good to be back! Don't forget to check out the film over at patreon: www.patreon.com/Eric_Karlsson
Congrats on sending the boulder Eric. Personally, i love seeing the progression and mindset changes you’ve been applying to climbing. Isn’t it wonderful how one thing can change or click and suddenly a boulder that felt impossible is now easy? Keep going!
Bro, I almost cried when I saw you sending the boulder. You are a real inspiration. For me, as someone that that is finding trouble projecting a boulder more than 1 week, you are a real inspiration my man. Hats off to you and your effort. Once again proving that trying a move that seems impossible for long enough makes it possible. Amazing.
It makes me so happy to hear about you feeling towards this video, thank you for sharing! Definitely go hard on your project for weeks, it's so good :D
Great advice at the end of the video. When I sent my first 7C+ I used this approach. It was a long boulder for me (15 moves) and I always was afraid to try too hard too soon because I thought I would never be able to do the final crux unless I conserved energy. But I always arrived to the last hard part completely pumped. When I sent it was because I decided to simply attack the boulder from the first move. I tried hard from the very beginning, and when I arrived at the last crux I had energy to spare. I think we are all capable of much more than we give ourselves credit for.
In fairness, a lot of the reason I support Eric on Patreon is that he takes not giving up to a pretty extreme level - so much so, that it is genuinely inspiring. The type of climbing UA-camr who's willing to sacrifice some revenue for the sake of personal growth is the kind I want to go beyond the level of like/subscribe/comment to support. Bravo, Mr. Karlsson!
Beautiful message my homie, I'm thankful for your support on Patreon and here on youtube, comments like this one really puts a big smile on my face :) All the best man!
Great Eric!! Admittedly havent seen your videos in a while, algorithm issue i guess, but happy to see you climb again and that you've gotten stronger! :) I know this is unsolicited, and that you've talked about your past issues with weight loss (all those years ago), but i honestly think you would feel better and stronger if eventually you started losing a bit of weight. I know it can be a slippery slope, but if you can do it in a wholesome and self-loving way i think it will not only benefit your climbing performance, buut also reduce injury risk and improve your general health, which id argue is even more important as we get older. I really dont mean to be judgemental or anything, this is honestly coming from a place of love. I just wanna see you win ❤️
Congrats on sending. I REALLY enjoyed seeing the process. We all know about your balance struggles, but also your passion of storytelling and climbing. I personally feel this is a masterpiece from you Eric. We got to see your passion through all the emotions. I can’t wait to see the next ‘episode’.
Well done Eric ! I find it it interesting how you emphasize on putting out videos of a boulder and your progress on it. For me I watch your videos because you make them in a way where I feel like I am part of the present , because you share your experience of the moment in a very truthful and vibrant way it makes me connect. If you put the same beautiful experience of living the present you would be able to make amazing videos of any subject you hold close to your heart ? Sorry if it doesn’t make much sense, tried my best 😂.
GG mate, well done on the boulder. I personally watch you for the quality of the editing and overall good vibes. I don't mind who is in front of the camera, since the production quality is just great. Make whatever you want to make and I'm sure the audience will watch :).
I'm a fan of climbing content, but I don't climb. I'm more of a hiking/running guy personally, but even then it's just a genuine inspiration to see you sticking with it man. I've had myriad setbacks with my physical health over the years and rebuilding from scratch back to even a semblance of what I once was is often frustrating and just downright demoralizing at times, but persistence and a positive attitude is always the answer. Some days it's easier than others to find that attitude and then somedays you get some help from UA-cam videos from awesome creators.
Absolutely incredible video, Eric. Seeing you succeed had me grinning ear to ear in a way that I really needed today. Thank you for sharing your journey with us and being such an inspiration!
Dude! The vulnerability and honesty you show in this video goes through the roof! Amazing work. You are strong in so many ways. Oh and by the way, I would love to see a video about how to spend the days recovering from an injury (with Nikken), because I'm in the same boat at the moment, and I would love some content on recovering while trying to stay fit. There must be a story there as well.
This was an amazing video. Got shivers when you made that crux hold. Also shows how climbing with people that know you and know when to push you is important.
incredible. To imagine feeling like you've lost a decade of work yet still waking up and finding the motivation to do everything in your power to reattain it. So fucking inspiring man, real impact you're making with this stuff!
One thing I really appreciate is your honesty about this channel being a business. Your climbing goals might not provide you with a living...... Take care! I think, your fans will watch just about anything, you choose to show.
Congratulations on that send, Eric! Amazing video as always! Your tenacity to keep fighting and growing despite all these hurdles is incredibly inspiring and motivating for myself and many others. I regularly will tell friends (climbers and non-climbers) about your videos and situation, everyone is always wow-ed and awe-struck. Thank you for these videos and I'm hyped on them! Huge steps!
Great to see you featured in more videos. I enjoy watching your process. Life throws a lot of curve balls but it's how we deal with the hardship and adversity that shows true character. I definitely respect you putting your values first over just releasing videos every week.
Thank you for this video! I really admire you for your attitude. The joy that is on your face after falling for the 300th time but making it closer to the next hold. Then getting up and losing balance and incredibly just laughing and shrugging it off with: "Oh shit, what was that?". I believe you to be very brave for not cutting out the scenes where one can easily see your balance issues and showing us this potentially vulnerable part of yourself.
I had some tears in my eyes. Super happy for you! This video is really special. My proudest climbing moment so far was on a traverse sloper, that I‘ve tried once and thought nooooo chance. 40 tries later (after breaking down all of the moves) I found myself reaching the top. Thanks to you, I‘m reminded of what trying hard means and that one boulder can have a huge impact to our climbing journey. ❤
One more day without an EKB video and I would've called in the cavalry. Congrats. It was so much fun to watch your progress ;) Glad you put yourself first and kept a healthy mindset and pushed yourself further. I enjoyed especially the voice over scenes, the editing was on point as always.
In your first try, it was already clear you are so strong. You are steady and stable on the moves, because you are stronger then this level. But I do get your handicap, I’ve suffered from BPPD a few months and climbing is hard when you get dizzy. And it holds you back. You owned this climb 🔥🔥
Your goal is to become a better climber. We see you do that by working on technique, power and mindset. Is it also possible to train your dizziness? To suppress or mitigate or even relearn? I don’t know anything on the condition but if this would be possible it would make you a better trainer aswel.
That aha moment when projecting a boulder for so long makes climbing addictive. Making the impossible suddenly feel possible. Self motaviting for sure . Grats, looking strong Had a similar experience last night. Learnt to push really hand through toes/feet, instead of being half-assed. Unlocked a 2 week overhang project.
Congrats on the send Eric!! As someone who was diagnosed with a chronic illness 2 years ago that has significantly reduced my ability to climb, hearing your story was super inspiring. Thanks for sharing it with us :)
Thank you Eric for all your commitment and your dedication. I love your videos and espacially this one. I feel you dude! You can do both! I will watch!
You're such an inspiration as a climber, youtuber and person. I love the content, honesty and the priorities you have in life. I admire the energy and commitment you have in climbing and filmmaking. Bottom line, don't change, be yourself and you'll inspire more people then just me!
Seriously impressive mental strength and to just try hard as you can on the moves. I really feel like I miss that in my climbing really cool to see this!
Seriously I was moved by your send and even shed a tear of happiness! It’s really inspiring seeing you work so hard to get your health back! Also ist impressive what you can do even without proper sense of balance!
Jävlar Eric. Otroligt starkt och väldigt inspirerande! Blir genuint glad av att se dig göra så här fina framsteg! 8a+ är bara runt hörnet nu! Lycka till allt framgent!
Getting your priorities straight! There are (many) things more important in life than uploading to the social networks👍👍👍. Congratulations on the send!👍👍
Just joined the patreon for 1 month as I don't have too much expendable income at the moment, but just wanted to contribute as a small thank you for all the greats videos and films I've enjoyed from you. Hope to become a permanent patreon soon. Best of luck with the climbing!
Tbh even if you just made a video of you trying the same boulder over and over again it would be really awesome because its your process, thoughts and personality that make your video amazing.
I hope you can find value from the experience i had on this boulder and apply it to your own climbing :) Feels good to be back! Don't forget to check out the film over at patreon: www.patreon.com/Eric_Karlsson

Amazing work on the yellow! Even not considering your balance, you slow static moving through that crux is insanely impressive!
