I would imagine that when this retake gets an update the chase would be more unique and you can now travel through different Mario games to find artifacts to go to a secret area.

Damn, moonlight sonata in an 8bit soundfont as the title screen music really sets the tone. The CRT filter is one of the bests I’ve seen used before, it’s nostalgic.

The magic of the original PC port was that MX chases you, sure, but it still feels like Mario Bros.- with the effects, MX just being an invincible wall, and the overly done music, it loses a lot of authenticity. oher than that, id say this was handled absolutelg perfectly! 8/10, would get genuinely creeped out at this again ⭐️✨️
quick note: I absolutely love the use of disturbing imagery. plus, the spritework is absolutely phenomenal, the music is unsettling and great, and this has been the first Mario creepypasta to actually unsettle and creep me out in quite some time!

You actually weren't too far off the mark. While Fallen Kingdom is specifically a reimagining of Mario 85 (AKA Mario PC Port), the game it's based on is a bootleg version of All-Stars SMB1 for the Sega Genesis.
Game looks cool and plays too! But i noticed that russian text translated from English really bad. Title literary says "Brother Mario Computer 64", also inflections doesn't match too, then Mario talks - they turned into a woman and then back to men in a sentences. I hope devs will find someone, who will help them with translations. (also "бегать" means "to run", not request to do it)
I get what Marco was going for, but I personally still think the original is still better, especially for the chase. I think it was better in the original for pipe crawler to be chasing you first, and THEN mx, for that kinda shock factor the og was going for. Still good though
I love that mx talk with the windows (like russian right?) and the music is epic for a moment when a giant mario is trying to kill you! (First redux and now retake wow that means that we gonna wait the 1-2 build with this)
