- Diastolic dysfunction is a common finding in Echocardiography particularly in the elderly. However in certain cases, it can be the early stage of diastolic heart failure.
Heart failure can be of two types - Systolic and Diastolic. Impaired relaxation of ventricle leads to Diastolic heart failure.
