Just a heads up that the Charleston location is NOTORIOUS for being buggy and randomly kicking players. It maybe due to more assets loading in for some (I have a slower system, for example). I usually skip that one when it appears. Good luck everyone!

Yes, when Charleston comes up I have the crash issue. Always hits when I move to siphon 2. I have conquered this by looking to see if it's at Charleston. I fast travel to the Dam and walk over to the Event and just stand on the broken bridge... quietly until it's over and voila!

I had a nice run today, got the pink hazmat, melee weapon and a poison mod, globe, meteor, alien table, human tube 2 and alien head lamp. Newer player so I’m pretty pumped!

Note: Piles of Goo, Ash or chunks (Or just the ragdoll) of where the enemy that you are looking for count long as its within the area of where it first died. (Torsos seems to work too even if its further away than the location where it was defeated) when taking photos. (photomode is not part of the challenge unless specified)
yes that is a good point that photomode does not count. As long as the camera shows you what it is in the top right of the screen then yep, a lovely pile of goo is still good for the photo! lol

thanks :-) and yes it will be interesting to see what the reality of the drops will be as in other recent events BGS seem to have skewed the drop rate toward the new items. They say they are all the same drop rate but who knows!

Just a heads up for low level players, they appear in the wild also! I'm level 21 and I was near Grafton when I suddenly got jumped by one of the purple headed gys and a fully purple alien invader and a mini ship (can't remember their names) took a whole load of bullets and stimpaks to bring them down!!!
thanks for the comment, and yes they will spawn all over the map during the event but also replace the normal enemies at three events during the 2 weeks! So look out for that!
It seems that the drop rate for these has been 'tweeked' so that the new plans are dropping a lot more than the others, so fingers crossed you will get some!

that is true in part, but the invaders are specifically zetans. These appear as both power and non power armour varients during the event accompanied by their mechs and drones. Whilst I will admit that the Flatwoods monster is not a zetan, (purely used it on the thumbnail as an artistic thumbnail point of difference) they do get involved and fight on the aliens side - or for themselves.... who really knows?? - and have the power to control other enemies around them, including the zetans, which is interesting! fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Zetan

That I am afraid is the nature of RNG and whilst irritating and pretty unlucky that is just how it works. I would try switching to a different server if you are having issues as there may be an external factor influencing the drops but it is most likely just bad luck I'm afraid. Please note there are many different mods for the melee weapon so do double check they are not different variations. Good luck and hopefully you get the ones you want!
I have always been able to craft the alien blaster and ammo though? It was just annoying because you use more ammo with it than you find, especially after they nerfed the shit out of it.
this was not always possible, but has been for a while now. Initially there was only one location to get the alien blaster outside of an event and then the ammo was super rare to find. I'm not sure if this was a good or bad move though as it was nice to have some kind of exclusive items that you could only get through a quest or challenge
@gear302 Besides crafting the ammo, you can always open up any Mutated Party Packs, Treasure Pails, Holiday Presents, and Spooky Bags with your Alien Blaster or Disintegrator equipped and you'll receive AB rounds
yes, you will get duplicates. The fix was so that you could as there was a bug which prevented you from getting a plan once you had already learned it - this was annoying as then you couldn't sell the duplicates or find them in vendors if you didn't manage to get a specific plan during an event.
I am guessing you are on PS, if so Bethesda have noted they are aware and working on a fix for the crashing issues, but please submit a bug report to bethesda.net as the more reports of crashes the more data they will have to be able to hopefully fix the issues quickly.
The crashing has got worse for me too not just in charleston I tried doing caravans yesterday crashed 2 out of three times in the space of about 20 mins
The game or the event? The game is certainly not for everyone that is for sure and in some respects i prefer fo4 but I do still love this in a different way
Yes, sadly prob many, hence why I tried to reiterate in the guide to wait until people are there. With this event I do think it almost needs to run every half hour rather than every hour but maybe only for one week.
I mean that is the same for a lot of games, it's just what you like really. IMO I don't care for the new rewards much but I think the event is pretty fun to do and a different and fun way to earn treasury notes and modules
Nice video, but please everyone remember…. Take your pictures AFTER the event finishes. Nothing is more annoying than seeing idiots running around not helping. (And yes - pictures of dead bodies count for the challenges)

But it's just a different color Hazmat suit similar to ones we already have, and the cola rockets are useless decor imo. A new weapon/grenade or something interesting we could actually use, would've been great. I dunno, a survival tent that looks like a crashed UFO or something even? I didn't see anything "new" that was desirable. I look forward to the event itself returning all the same.

I agree we need some completely new stuff. Just retire the old stuff most people have and is available anyway and add entirely new themed stuff.

It's important to note that the "invaders" are specifically the zetans in power armor, iirc, and not a general catch-all term for any alien ..

I seem to be getting the same plans over and over, and they're all the melee weapon, which I will never likely use.
