Hello friends, today I bring you a build of a Colnago C-40, with Shimano dura-ace components of the time. A mythical bike that was a Paris Roubaix winner for years. Being the first bicycle made of carbon fiber to win this race. I hope you like it and enjoy the video. Any questions or if you notice that I am doing something wrong. Hola amigos, hoy os traigo un build de un colnago C-40, con componentes shimano dura-ace de la época. Una bicicleta mítica que fue ganadora de la Paris Roubaix durante años. Siendo la primera bicicleta fabricada en fibra de carbono en ganar esta carrera. Espero que os guste y disfrutéis del vídeo. Cualquier duda o si observáis que estoy haciendo algo mal. Hi friend!!! The truth is that I have been riding this bike with the campagnolo group record 10s. I must say it was going especially well. The only thing I had to remove that group from because the tires I put were too wide and the tire touched slightly in frame. Otherwise it was perfect. I have a C40 HP (the more expensive model) in my garage with fairly modern Dura-Ace and will probably sell it this spring. It's such a beautiful frame that I hate to do it. I picked up the frame used in 2010 and can probably sell it for more than I paid for it, which is usual with classic Colnagos. Buying these old frames is not a bad spend if you pick the right models.

C40s are AWESOME. I had one of the latest version - the HP-Power B stay or whatever it was called exactly (with an odd diamond in the seat stay). Amazing bike. Nearly perfect. All I wanted different from it was to use wider tires.

Being vintage, I assume the rear dropouts were 125mm. How did you fit the modern freehub in there or was it initallty 130mm?

Yo siempre he sido (y soy) de Campagnolo y cuadros de acero o aluminio, pero hay que reconocer que esta máquina es una joya, muy bien montada, y recordemos que con una así corríaTony Rominger codo a codo con Indurain. Calidad Pro de lo 90 a tope. Preciosa!
Estos vídeos inspiran mucho a los que amamos las bicis y además nos enseñan muchos trucos. En breve subiré yo también el montaje de la mía, aunque no es tan clásica, jajaja!

Love the look of the bike. Maybe just an extra protection on the head tube for cable rub while turning? Would be awful to scratch that carbon finish :D

Aunque yo era más de campagnolo, cosas de la edad, ya 64, reconozco que Shimano no le envidiaba nada, que fino y bonito es el Durace y que calidad tenía y tiene. Ahora llevo Ultegra de 11 vel, por relación calidad precio.

A beautiful C40 defaced by the revolting Shimano group-set. Colnago deserves Campy. Anything else is anathema and haram..

@@dabrestauracion7404 I actually own a Colnago C40 HP last gen and I have a 10 sp Record group set. I’m not interested at all in its history with Shimano as, like now, Shimano pays a lot of sponsorship money to be on all bicycles. It’s just a money thing not a reliability thing. I just hate Shimano. It’s ugly, it’s Japanese and it’s like a cancer spreading everywhere. Campagnolo is beautiful, it’s Italian and it totally outclasses Shimano. So, if you want to have a classy bike like a Colnago (or any Italian bike) you have to ditch Shimano a get Campy. Have you ever seen a Ferrari or a Lamborghini with a Nissan engine?
