I first played Persona 3 FES in 2022, it got me into the series. It hasn't been long since I played it, and I've since played P5 then P4 for my first time -- But P3 is my absolute favorite of the three by a long shot. Even once Reload releases, there's a good chance FES will remain my favorite version of my favorite game of all time, but Reload will offer something new for me to play, while getting new players into my favorite game! I get that some people are nostalgic for the original, but that version won't go anywhere -- A remake is good for new and old fans, because if you want it to be the exact game you remember, why bother paying for a remake? Why not play the original again? Remakes _are not the same game._ Simple as that -- There's a new team working on it, the series has changed since P3 released, it has evolved -- To ignore those evolution's and changes just to recreate an experience you can still play would be a bit silly. P5, is the new standard of the series and Reload is following in its footsteps. The style of the series set by P3 was evolved in P4, then perfected in P5 -- And that perfection circled back around to P3 Reload. P3 Reload, is meant to be a game that can be enjoyed by old and new fans. A game that has surprises for new and old fans. It isn't gonna reinvent P3, but it certainly will change it. You may not be able to love it as much as the original due to the changes, but you shouldn't hate it _just because_ it's different.
I swear, I love the way others write, this was extremely well written! ヾ(*’O’*)/ I'm glad that this video got you to write your own thoughts about it, it's really inspiring for me to see! ( ꈍᴗꈍ) I genuinely hope you have a great time with your experience with Reload! Thank you for the insightful read!! (≧▽≦)
@@CyKer Thank you! I've been writing stories and such for over a decade, so I get a bit wordy in my comments lol I also enjoyed your video, it was a fun watch!
Thank you, many people don't give a chance to what's different, that also goes to the new Vas, I think every remake in existence goes through that, and instead of enjoying it, people compare too much with it's original version, people don't want to believe it, and I hate to use the term blind by nostalgia, but nostalgia can give you a little bias, some of those people are really agressive too and attack those who like a remake by calling them consumers in the derogatory way and other insults, let's not forget meaningless review bombs, like it happened with RE 4 remake
your oponion is stupid. I played every persona and the old ones are the best ones objectively. not because of nostalgia but because there is more care in it. I grew up on the Persona series and you're just objectively incorrect.
@@EileenTheCrow-nn3hz You my friend have just proven how nostalgia blind you are. It's ok to like the older games. Persona 2 is my favorite game of all time. But you're out of your mind if you don't think every mainline Persona game was made with care. Persona 4 is easily my least favorite in the series and even I can tell effort was put in. Does that make it better than Persona 3 or 5? Hell no. It still has a lackluster cast, terrible pacing and a decent villain who's only made worse by the hype surrounding him. But that doesn't mean no effort was put in
Thank you so freaking much. As a Persona 3 stan, we shouldn't be comparing the new voices, tracks and openings and instead, judge them on their own merits. I made 2 videos about on my own channel, but I hope more people find this video because the editing and quality is way better than mine.
It's good to know that other people have covered this topic too! ( ╹▽╹ ) It's been insane for me to witness, especially from people who REALLY love Persona 3. It was a real eye opener, as bad as it was. I'm glad you thought my video was of good quality, it's appreciated! (◍•ᴗ•◍)
> we shouldn't be comparing the new voices, tracks and openings That's true at all. This is a remake. It is _meant_ to be compared. It _should_ surpass the original, or else it has no reason to exist. If the remake is worse than the OG, then it is doing a huge disservice to _everyone._ Old fans and new ones alike. It could drive away people from experiencing the better original game. But that is simply not the case here. Some of the remixes are not great, but especially the new additions slap just as much as the best songs of the OG. Some of the voices are probably not as good, but others like Fuuka's are _objectively_ superior. And while I can't really decide between Full Moon Full Life and Burn My Dread, it's safe to say they are both near the top.
I don't really know anything about persona but it was fun hearing the yap session Edit: I have played Persona 3 Reload, It's peak, I now know something about persona
I've been dealing with this person SOOOO obsessed in loving the botched horribleness that is Persona 3 Portable over Reload to the point their "strong opinion" is validated. Bullshit.
Ahhh, that sucks... (#°Д°) There's nothing wrong with preferring Portable, but I definitely hope they won't miss their chance to play through Reload! (✿◡‿◡)
Thank you! You expressed my exact feelings regarding fan criticism. It's okay to critize the things you love but it's baffling how the discussion ends with "it's not like the original". I'm beyond excited for reload. Regarding the battle UI, in movement you can see the circle spin like a revolver which is good enough for me
I'm glad that my words were able to resonate with you! ( •̀ ω •́ )✧ I definitely have to say that the spinning UI is very appealing despite it not being a revolver! I like it a lot more now, being able to draw that connection, kudos! ヾ(≧▽≦*)o
The only criticism I have of the game is that there is still no version that includes all of the content. Regardless of how you feel about the answer or femc, new fans should still be able to experience these features so they can come up with their own conclusions. The ost is mostly good, I just think a few of the remade songs don't sound as good (mass destruction, moons reaching out stars). But the new songs are a bop and sound like they could have been a part of the original games ost, love full moon full life
@@benjoman8252Yes but keep in mind FeMC+The Answer is over a hundred hours of additional content. That's pretty out of scope for a ground-up remake of an 80 hour game
I get what you say, I'm still gonna play P3R. But I still think "Full Moon: Full Life" is kind of a downgrade from "Burn My Dread" It reveals a bit TOO much about the game of you ask me. Burn my Dread was quite ominous and minimalist about it's themes. The beat drop moment with Burn my Dread was genuinely amazing. Full Moon: Full Life while still great, doesn't really have that moment.
If they add the answer as dlc later on it’d be cool but I’m not losing sleep over it. Just remembering how much a shitty grindy experience it was years ago doesn’t make it worth trying to engage with its story. It needs rebalancing and compendium access to be remotely fun
Honestly, nostalgia can be really dangerous. It can either make you dislike something because it's not the same as before, or make you overrated a bad game that use nostalgia to promote thier game. Overall I haven't played P3 and this will be the first time playing it, I'm looking forward to it
I'm going to be honest... I never finished a Persona game, when I was a kid and I had my first console the PS2, one of the first games I played were Kingdom Hearts 2 and Persona 3... and I can say that they are both biggest and most beautiful video game sagas that I could experience in my entire life, I was able to finish the KH saga and be up to date... but not the persona, I played 3 and I don't remember until which part arrived but I could say that I was very advanced When you realize how long these games are and I couldn't even get halfway through, then I decided to play 4 for some reason... but I didn't finish it either haha, after a few years I discovered that 5 came out and that it was the one that It caused even more boom (although well... there is always a fight about whether it is 3, 4 or 5 xd) what I want to say is that... I love this saga for those fantastic stories that take you through an emotional and By being able to get attached to the diverse cast of main characters such as secondary to tertiary... and possibly some NPC, the reason why I haven't finished any of the 3 yet is because at the time I was a child who didn't know any English and He only played a random option and he loved assassinating shadows left and right and spamming the all out attacks... but I'm currently playing them now knowing some English and translated haha, I can say that I'm 100% focused on finishing them now I think I'll finish first 5 and then 4 and leave the last one which made me enter this path of such complicated feelings, 3 so that I can play the reload later since it generates sentimentality in me to get attached to each leading group, I loved them on 3 and on the 4th they made me fall in love with all those fun moments they have, on the 5th I'm just starting to see why people love this group of thieves so much and I'm able to get attached to them too... but at the end of the day SEES was the one that started it everything and I am determined to finish these 3 games (and then the other 3 and possibly the spin offs) so that is what I wanted to say, I wanted to share my feelings about the saga persona and that I am determined to finish them even if it is in a somewhat strange way xd, Thank you for reading this if you read it and good night, afternoon or day, bye bye.
I dislike the glossing over of the FEMC issue. A lot of people enjoyed FEMC cause it made them feel less alienated. and when a game is supposed to be so deeply connected to the player, a world to get lost in, not as a spectator but as you, separates from you from the narrative. Whether it's simply playing as a girl or dating the guys, for some people, something little like this can be the straw that breaks the camels back. If persona were a more typical jrpg, that was more interested in telling it's own story, separate from you, I'd agree with you. I've played fes, portable, and now reload and can confidently say that FEMC does a lot in terms of character building, especially for characters like shinji and introduces some of it own. They're all great and I'm genuinely so tired of portable/FEMC getting looked down at. Regardless, good video, I agree!
I’m glad you glossed over the femc stuff because the thing people fail to acknowledge is this is supposed to be a remake of the original yet even that will be expanded. Kotone wasn’t designed to be played instead of Makoto but a supplement to the original experience because her existence changes several things narratively and there are people who would be genuinely confused by that or that she isn’t just a simple gender swap for personal player taste. People need to learn to live and let go and not be chained down by the past
Yeah! Learning that Kotone was way different in dialogue choices and personality can put an insane contrast on how the story is meant to be taken was shocking. (゜o゜; Definitely saying it's just a gender swap isn't doing her justice, but regardless it isn't substantial enough to have the entire game remade just for that. Anyways, I'm glad you decided to leave your thoughts below! I hope that you are able to enjoy P3R to its fullest! (✿^‿^)
I completely agree with you on every point especially the music. I’ve been listening to P3 soundtrack for years now and I feel tired of them by now, the remixes are so refreshing!
@@Vecha302No I was just looking through the psp games my dad had lying around. He worked for the main distributor of entertainment media in Norway so we had a punch of ps games and consoles lying around. Had a whole box full of copies of shadow of the colossus for ps2 among other things
It's crazy to see how many people have played it so long ago! I'm glad that you're looking forward to it, and I hope it's fun to re-experience it from a whole new perspective! (~ ̄▽ ̄)~
Don't shoot me. The mixes of the soundtrack are better than the originals. The vocals are clearer and louder and more pronounced. You may not like her as much but it is a better mix. Fortunately the originals exist and it'll probably be day 2 mods that add in the originals.
There's nothing wrong with loving the new songs! No one is gonna terrorize you for preferring it! It's all up to preference and as long as it's not the reason why someone would consider stopping themselves from Reload, I have no qualms! ( ╹▽╹ ) I hope that you'll enjoy the OST even more in-game! (◕ᴗ◕✿)
I am a huge P3 fan. It is my first and favorite. I played it back in 2009 on the PS2 as FES. I am attached to plenty and will probably replay FES after reload just because of nostalgia. Even with that said Reload is looking to be better in almost every way. @@CyKer
As a person that has played a version of Persona 3, probably close to bi-annually since 2007… I’m genuinely excited for Reload. That new battle theme? Hot butter in my ears 🤤
I do not believe I've read a comment that has gotten me to laugh that hard in awhile, haha! "Hot butter in my ears" rings a little too well, I get it! I hope you have a great experience with the rest of the soundtrack! ヾ(≧▽≦*)o
I played P3 FES back when it first came out. I got to the end of the main game and couldnt defet the final boss becauss my party AI wasnt the brightest and so i got frustrated and gave it away to my best friend. I since bought P5 3 different timss, 2 times on my ps4 when i had it, the base and royal edition and then P5R on ps5. A few months back i picked up p4g. I love this series and would love a remaster of P1 and P2. I cant wait for this game to come out. Preorded it and watching the counter slowly count down til the 30th when it predownloads on my system. I can feel your love for the series through this video. You have a new dedicated fan right here. Keep up the hard work you do for us viewers.
I'm glad that you see how passionate I am about Persona 3 Reload, I'm definitely going to talk about it again once I go through it all! Thank you for the subscription, I'm glad you enjoyed the video, it will be remembered! (✿◡‿◡)
@CheLovEkoShpRoT im pretty sure they aren't fake fans. They got persona pfps and have stuff related to persona on their account but that's your own decision to see them as fake fans or not. I'm gonna play it because I like persona, sure there isn't fes or FemC but I can live without that
Cool vid, nice to hear this side of people's perspectives in a lot more detail ++ I'm in a bit of a weird side of the spectrum for P3R; I'm finding stuff out about it and frankly the reason that it *is* so similar to the original is what's kinda turning me off from getting it. I really loved Soul Hackers 2 and SMT V recently with how even if they got many things wrong and right, the fact they actually went and experimented a ton with these entries is so refreshing. It feels kinda wasteful to see Atlus pour so much budget into a game which could have had a new breath of life with even a simple QoL-addition rerelease (very much like SMT3 Nocturne HD, with stuff like fusion skill inheritence being patched in. One can say "this can be easily modded" but I was really happy to be able to experience this on my Switch and portably play it). I'd have loved to see them create a completely and outlandishly different Persona 3 Reload, something with as many differences as Resident Evil 2 and its remake to *completely* set them apart, or create way more unique projects, kinda like what they're doing with Metaphor: Re:Fantazio, all with the *exact* same creative teams, I'm sure they'd have done just as great of a job without being tied down to the premise of Persona 3. That way nobody could use the excuse of nostalgia to tear down the new release(s) or make an even worse name for veteran P3 fans. I'm also a little disappointed at Atlus for all the PlayStation Persona fans that they have to deal with not having GamePass and forking over 70 bucks which kinda just had the entire story, cast, gameplay, etc. made from the get go, it kinda feels skeevy on Atlus's part. 😔 I'm still buying games in the ranges of 40s or 50s and whatever indie releases I see that look interesting but the huge 70-mark gives a ton of whiplash. I hope there's a lot of positive stuff you can take from this release anyway, I'm just a little sad that I know now a huge Atlus project like this won't really do anything for me but what can you do, I definitely still have a lot more other cool Atlus stuff to play (currently on SMT IV). Again great video, keep it up and don't listen to the haters.😃
I feel like enough love has been put into this game for me to enjoy it even if it doesn't fit all my experiences from the original. It looks great it sounds great and is bringing back nostalgia.
And that's precisely I think what the remake was supposed to do! I'm glad to see so many people positive about it, and I genuinely hope you do enjoy the game! (◠‿・)-☆
I got the original P3 in japanese at the time before we even knew if it was going to be released in the West or not. Same with P3 FES. The hype is real and I can't wait to play P3 Reload.
I have only ever played Persona 5, and i am happy to move on from that game and leave it in the past now. I am excited to experience something brand new, which is why i sm excited for this game
@@icedtead9812 It depends how difficult the platinum trophy is, since P5 Royal was easy, and P3 Reload looks to be similarly simple enough too I am a massive trophy hunter
I appreciate your enthusiasm to move on to the other Persona games! The other parts of the series hold true value, and while I still have a ways to go with the rest of them, I am actively looking forward to seeing what the next has to offer! I hope P3R makes a lasting impact on you! q(≧▽≦q)
It really doesn't take that much research to figure that the aim was to perfect the original Persona 3 experience. It's a bit of a shame to see that people are still holding it against them, when they've never portrayed it as such. Regardless, I hope you enjoy the game! I'm glad you liked the video! (◕ᴗ◕✿)
Honestly, this remake is refreshing to me this game will be my prime example of how a remake is supposed to be. Breathing new life while emulating the feelings of the game and enhancing the story not changing just to change (cough cough final fantasy 7 remake/rebirth).
I cannot speak for FF7 as I've never delved far into the series, but I think the ways they go about breathing new life into their games is really unique! I'm glad that you think P3R is able to breathe the new life they're injecting into it! I hope it lives up to your expectations! (✿◡‿◡)
@@CyKer I’m not a hardcore hater of final fantasy 7 remake, but I don’t enjoy it other than the gameplay. It’s just a matter of story telling especially when talking about Tetsuya Nomura, but I’ve seen so much hate for persona 3 reload and it sad because I know these developers worked really hard and the singers.
Good video, the only issue I have with the remake is the MC not being able to carry all weapon types, but that being then only concern means it will be an amazing remake
You know what... I think I can see that! I think I heard a gun clicking noise when it finished its animation, but that could very well been from the trailer itself. Either way, it sells it well! Thanks for your insight! ( ̄︶ ̄)
I just love the fact that I'm ''new'' to this franchise (First game was P4G back in July 2022, Followed by P5R in October same year [Both on pc]) and that I never got the chance to play either P3, P3FES nor P3P (even tho I bought P3P) which means that my first real experience with P3 will be P3R so I won't be missing the old voice actors, the FEMC nor ''The Answer/Episode Aegis'' Epilogue.
Then I hope all the experience goes well for you! If you have nothing to hold you back, there's nothing to worry about! I think you'll enjoy it greatly! Thanks for your input! ✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧
I speak as someone who isn't digging the new art, rearranged ost and a few of the voices for a few reasons not related to nostalgia: Full Moon Full Life is my favorite opening for Persona ever, or at least second to Dark Sun.
That's really cool to hear! I'm a bit curious if you have anything further to say about what you've brought up, but if not it's all good! I'm glad you've decided to leave your input regardless! ( •̀ ω •́ )✧
Bro knew what he was doing with this vid... and the timing... Well done man you have great way of expressing your opinions, reminds me of someone I know. Definitely judging on some of them replies tho 😭
I'm definitely still improving on the way I approach my words, but I'm glad that my expressions reminded you of someone! Some of the replies are definitely a bit iffy, but it's all nothing really! (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.) I'm glad you enjoyed the video, I hope you are able to enjoy Reload for yourself! (。•̀ᴗ-)✧
"P3R don't have Yumi, hence me not buying" gotta be such an insane and stupid mentality I see ppl have from comments I've seen. Same goes for the extra content being cut, VA's etc. Ppl are so attached to nostalgia that they feel attacked when something isn't made 1 to 1 for the things they grew up on. Let the vocal minority miss out, cuz at the end of the day WE MAKING IT OUT OF TARTARUS WITH THESE BANGERS Also the new vocalists is awesome and deserves to be given time under the sun. Ppl requesting Atlus to have the ability to switch to OG P3 music to listen to instead of Azumi is awful. Anyways, she Persona on my 3 the way I Reload my nut from excitement 🥴😂
This! ALL THIS! I know we're personally gonna enjoy the game ourselves, so to all those who choose to miss out can their keep their dread to themselves. ( •̀ .̫ •́ )✧
Those bozos also might not heard that Yumi also retired, and that her voice isn't the same as before, both because of time, straining and smoking habits, it's fairly noticeable in her latest performances
Keep preaching brother, og was a great game, but it was very flawed, to the point it took several years to polish the formula for persona with 4 and 5, now that we get to see 3 with this new polish it’s gonna be a blast. It’s like those hating on 5 all over again cause it was different from 4.
When it comes to P3R, I was actually as "spoiler-free" as I could be, but I literally got goosebumps when you started playing the OST, because that shit slaps hard! I wish I could play it next month, but sadly, I have to save all of my money for the anesthesia for my dental surgery in March. At least I might be able to finish P5R first since I haven't really touched it since buying it in October 2022. (to be fair, I had like 15 fps back on my old PC lol) Thanks for getting me hooked on the soundtrack and this video in general. I hope you enjoy revisiting the nightmare you had to endure while finishing it a couple months ago (´⊙ω⊙`)!
AHHH!! I'm sorry to have spoiled you on that, haha! I'm glad you're looking forward to the game regardless, I know you'll love it! ヾ(≧▽≦*)o (the nightmares will return...) >︿<
Im currently playing p3 again and im so excited for reload the game is amazing and i can tell p3re is going be amazing. It sad that nostalgia can be toxic but people should give reload a chance when its out
That's genuinely all I want people to do! There's no point in letting the small things take away from everything else that Persona 3 Reload is going to offer! I'm glad you're excited for the game, I am too! (☆▽☆)
Personally, for me I have low expectations for this remake especially after the whole new cast being replaced. Comparing this to another remake that I like so damn much. (Dead Space.) they brought back Gunner Wright and Tanya Clarke from DS2 AND 3 it gives me both the feeling of enjoyment and nostalgia. This however does not and makes my expectations feel lower and lower with each new announcement. (Besides the localizatior spittin fire and bullshit) Adding more and adding the original cast from the older games is what brought me much joy. Adding more without the NEED to add all these extra things, without making the game look terrible. It's because the OG P3 and FES and Portable was THAT good. Luckily, I will be playing it on Game Pass, and then choosing my decision from there. It's not rocket science, but people should have the ability to talk about and discuss about Reload. If hits those same feelings, I will be buying the game.
As a Persona fan from 2 on ( I am not a fan of 1 but it was a game lol) and I love seeing it grow which is why while 2-4 are my favorites I look forward to Reload, also why the fem mv isn’t in this is because she’s not part of the original story just an add on imo.
I played persona 3 thanks to the P3P remaster. I’m really looking forward to this version. The music sounds great and funny enough it will be my first time seeing it in full 3D. The orginal Voice cast killed it and the new cast sounds amazing too
It makes me happy to know that P3R will be your first time seeing it in 3D! It's going to add a whole lot more emotional value into the entire experience, and I know you'll love it! (≧▽≦) I also can't wait to see what the English cast has in store too! (✿^‿^)
I’ll be honest, I never played the original P3, my first interaction with p3 was when portable came to Xbox, and I can safely say that reload is so much better than portable, but in terms of intros, Reload wipes the floor with FES and Portable, but imo it doesn’t quite live up to original P3 intro Btw Atlus have confirmed that Reload isn’t a rerelease (but it is Atlus so you never know)
Where is the link to that video where Yumi sings memories of you? I had no idea. Her health was declining. I was doing a whole Lotta research. Even trying to Google as to what happened to her and why she wasn’t reprising her role and persona three reload anyways, it’s a good thing you explained it. on video which I don’t know how you found out but at least it’s nice to know why she wasn’t able to come back which is pretty sad in my opinion but at least she’s still alive.
I originally had the footage of it when someone archived it on UA-cam, however it was taken down mainly due to infringement. I just searched it up and I cannot guarantee it'll stay up long, but it can be watched here: ua-cam.com/video/4UnfLwph0ig/v-deo.html While I have no official documentation on Yumi's health, it can be seen through her performances through the years that her sound has shifted through the years. There are some that point to her being a smoker, and also reaching a higher age in years. The best I can do is to provide where I've mainly pulled most of this information from, because once again, there's no official documentation to refer from. @@CyKer yeah thanks for the info and I was able to see her live performance. It was really nice to see her reprise her role and do a life performance of her singing that song in 2022 and in my opinion I think she still got it at least 85% but yeah, we all age and get older and it kind of shows. She kind of runs out of breath a few times when she’s singing the course a few times, which is significantly the harder part of the song to achieve, which is done when you’re in your prime, you can even tell she’s really pushing on the song and not letting her old age stop her and I think she achieved most of it and I highly respect her for that It’s too bad she was a smoker because that could really shorten the lifespan of your breath and your vocal cords however, you explain it with that being said I really did wish she could put herself out there more or get to meet with the new singer Azumi But then, again, thanks for the info
I wouldn't doubt that they have met already, but you were certainly right about Yumi. She really pushed herself for that, and that still all the more inspiring. Thank you for your interest and input! ( ´◡‿ゝ◡`)
Persona 3 is my favourite game of all time not because of the game play or mechanics at all but because the story resonated heavy with me. I’m looking forward this remake to see how they’d modernize it.
persona 3 isnt even difficult people just ignored the command feature so they stopped making it so essential later. it makes ludo narrative since you walk life alone but together, youre responcible for your health- go to the bathroom and sleep you lil dork- care about your relationships. one could say while mechanically easier to navigate persona 5 is the opposite design philosphy- youre op nearly the whole time, it makes sense as phantom thieves are presented as highly compotent so they would value being op- they found a way to marry the concept with the mechanical features. i broke all 3 of these systems and persona 3 is the only one with any push back. a really good example of this is due to how fragile you felt under normal battles- the grim reaper was terrifying. almost as if to say sorry we didnt realize our audience was a buncha crybabies- they stuff the reaper into a box in persona 4. on a second playthrough- never got back that terror that made him so memmorable- never made defeating the final boss izanami- any more fufilling- like cmon you can say its stolkholm- ima just gonna tell you how busted being the healer is. my main personas were either physical based- a more general magician with one or two elements- and a main healer persona. i do all the healing just tell your cast to knockdown- or full assault. you only use thier support command to get buff later like when aegis is gonna have matarukaja. i had to find out through the internet later that people had been having a poor experience with marin karen- i was shocked cause i always get mitsuru to use only ice and regular attacks- she became my ice expert pretty much. idk maybe im just well suited to play a game that demands you pay attention more. but i never had any of these frustrations- took me 3 playthroughs to ever experience a reverse card. Im also like 34 almost so maybe my time wih old games that didnt have autosave has made me less expectant of the feature- so many of my favorite games have save points instead of just an option in the menu or a checkpoint system like that doesnt exist in FFX. rant over i dont get anybody who thinks persona 3 is hard- ima just think youre lazy and or uncurious.
4:00 Tartarus is a balance check. If you get whacked in Tartarus it's 95% your fault. If you're tried, don't go. if you're sick, get to bed early. I never had to grind *once* in my playthroughs because I was prepared.
As someone that played Persona 3 FES back in 2009, I'm excited for the remake but my only worry is that it will be super easy like P5R and it be boring to just destroy the shadows so fast, Back then i did not mind the AI party members because the game was made for it to be played that way but no way i played like that in P4 and P5, And i'm a rare person that liked the OG Tartarus but the new version looks better and fun to actually climb up the tower floors thank god, Burn My Dread was my fav opening but Full Moon Full Life is my second fav now and the game is not even out yet lol, I'm going to play on hard mode to see how the remake plays like, I guess social links will give boots to you like how it was in P5R if so then that is ok and the shift feature is not as broken as baton pass in P5R that i seen when it was announced them months ago.
Personally, I'm cautiously optimistic, bordering on excited, for Reload. So much of it looks good and the things that I don't like the look of are fairly minor, but at the same time, I've witnessed first hand how death by a thousand cuts can ruin a game with a good-great foundation (naming no names, *Starbreeze*), so I'm keeping expectations in check. Definitely going to be playing it, though, it releases on my day off from work which is awesome. I would also like to quickly point out that Unreal is not a completely new engine for Atlus as SMT V (and maybe SH2? Not too sure, didn't play that) was made with it, though you could say that it's the first experience with the engine for the specific team assigned to P3R.
I wasn't aware that SMT V was built on Unreal too. I guess that makes sense why the visuals were really good looking in comparison to other ATLUS titles. I think SH2 was made off from Unity, which is WILD. (・o・) Either way, it still could hold a point, but regardless I'm very appreciative of your optimism, even moreso because it's careful. (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.) Thanks for your insight, and I hope P3R makes it out to be as great as it can be for you! ( ╹▽╹ )
I never played p3 before in any way, so I watched a playthrough a few years back. Eventually p3p came to pc but i didn't want to play (in my opinion) a downgraded version of the game. I'm definitely picking up p3r as my first p3 experience, which is probably the same as a lot of newer persona fans. I'm still a little familiar with the basic story so it'll be fun to see what's new and improved, but I definitely can't wait to play the game because it looks gorgeous.
I'm glad to see this is your entry to get into Persona 3! It's truly great, and despite all the knowledge I had of it previously, it still didn't stop it's powerful grasp on my emotions the entire way through! I sincerely hope you have a great time with it! (´▽`ʃ♡ƪ)
And that's perfectly okay! The chill vibes that the early 2000s had were remarkable and provide a feeling that newer games won't actively replicate anymore! That's why I'm a big fan of Bomb Rush Cyberfunk! Thanks for your input! (~ ̄▽ ̄)~
its rediculous how people can seemingly judge the quality of an unreleased game simply because it looks and sounds different and not having what amounts to dlc from older remakes of the game.
I can totally see where they're coming from, but sometimes I think we're asking too much, too fast and forget to realize they can always release it later. If ATLUS wanted to make P3R definitive version of Persona 3, they would've said it in the interviews they had prior. Thanks for the comment! (*^▽^*)
Personally, I think Burn Your Dead is a better song, but the new one is a banger. Even more so in the context of Reloaded. Like Sega was like, "How do we get across that is an actual REAKE P3?" And Atlus said,"Don't worry, I got you fam."
They're both honestly amazing to me! ATLUS really did know what they were aiming for though with this one, haha! Thanks for your input! (人 •͈ᴗ•͈)
I'm very excited for reload i think it's going to be amazing and the definitive version of the original story, buuut i do think the original ps2 release has it's own vibe that I'll probably end up prefering in the long run, it's the same thing with Persona 1 for me, the original ps1 version is sluggish and unpolished but it also has an atmosphere that is unrivalled by any other megaten game in my eyes, the PSP version is definitely better to experience but i prefer the vibe that the original gives off, i think it'll be the same with p3.
This is a perfectly reasonable answer! ╰(*°▽°*)╯ It's totally okay to prefer the originals because of the vibe that it carries with it. It's really all to preferences! I hope that Persona 3 Reload can create a positive mark on the series, but it's not like I expect everyone to believe it holds a better style than the original feel. Sometimes it's just the nature of how the game was in its time! (~ ̄▽ ̄)~ I really appreciate your insight on this, and I hope that you'll enjoy Reload for what it is! ヾ(≧▽≦*)o
I have a few reasons for why I’ve lost interest in buying it. Firstly, don’t have a heart attack, I hate the new music. Genuinely, cannot stand it, changing seasons and Iwatodai dorm are my least favourite (they could have at least kept the French vocals that made the song unique). “Joy” just sounds wrong now. The opening has great visuals but the song doesn’t do it for me. Also, replacing burn my dread as the opening song feels like a crime against P3. Out of the new voices, I think Akihiko sounds horrendous. I can’t stand the new Shinji, Takaya, Pharos and Ikutsuki and I’m really not a fan of Yukari either. Junpei and Mitsuru sound fine but still inferior to the originals. Also sad to see that the recast for Igor wasn’t just a temporary thing for 5 and Daniel Woren is actually gone, he was much better than the current Igor VA. Finally, there’s even a convenient video that can help illustrate my point by UA-camr “Pentplanya” that compares the cutscenes and cinematically between the original and reload. The original game genuinely trumps reload in terms of atmosphere and direction when it comes to the cinematics. It’s actually sad how much reload has regressed in terms of directing. The new opening scene especially, but Ortheus’s awakening, entering the Velvet room, are all inferior to the original.
I love the OG persona 3. But this is a remake. I want there to be new and cool stuff. It will make the game feel fresh again. Obivously i don't want them to completly change the story or anything but the original game has some old and outdated systems which i'm glad they changed.
You know what they say about assumptions right? It's easy to assume that anyone criticizing Reload is blinded by nostalgia. You just seem kinda ignorant and come off as a massive hypocrite. You complained that the person who inspired you to make this video presented his opinion as fact, but you're doing the exact same thing. He didn't even say that the opening was bad, just that it was the worst one for him. Maybe you should learn the importance of accepting other people's opinions.
These are some powerful claims that I do not agree with. I was not saying everyone who was criticizing Reload was blinded by nostalgia, I genuinely don't know where that assumption is coming from. The video's message was directed towards people who let nostalgia hold them back from re-experiencing Persona 3 again. The person who inspired me to make this video statement word for word said "It was one of the worst in the series." I don't know where you pulled the "for him" from. (I even wrote it out on the screen...) The entire video is me criticizing people who specifically let nostalgia hold them back from experiencing Persona 3 again, not everyone who finds small things that they prefer the original over. And trust me, I can accept opinions, but critiquing flawed mindsets has nothing to do with that. Having a Phoenix Wright avatar, I'd figure you'd know better than that. Take a look at all the context given in the video and come back to me again when I've actually said something out of place.
@@CyKer Wow, I wrote a lengthy response and it's gone now because I clicked off screen. I wanted to apologize for making some assumptions of my own. To me there wasn't a lot of context of the original comment that inspired you to make this video. To me, it just looked like the guy shared his opinion and you didn't like it and viewed it as someone being blinded by nostalgia. I would argue with you that it's good to be open minded but it's also important to respect the original team's vision and work. Changing things or altering them is the opposite of that and a lot of people can have a personal connection to art which makes it hard to be open minded in situations like that.
Hey man, it's okay, it's more than just you. (✿◡‿◡) There's been quite a few people who had attacked my character which went way further than what the original topic was about. I could've possibly worded better about the group of people I was talking about being blinded by nostalgia, which could've solved most of the comments going against my opinions. So I apologize for my toxicity in my previous comment. I genuinely mean that. (✿◡‿◡) I have no qualms with people who enjoy the things they've experienced first and still prefer it that way-- I think that's great! I was more referring towards the people who would drop the entire experience because it didn't contain FEMC, the Answer, or because of the new renditions of the OST. I felt like those people were undervaluing everything else that Persona 3 Reload had to offer, and it irked me the wrong way, hence my strong stance against it. (っ °Д °;)っ I'll do better about making sure I state the points I make are purely subjective, and are formed through my own personal experiences. I will also make sure those videos are focused on being more open-ended leading into more discussions rather than just me saying my piece and closing it off. I can get a little where you may have formed I came off as ignorant from that. `(*>﹏
Ikr. Tbh it sorta pisses me off. Atlus CHOSE to remake this game over Persona 2 (my favorite) because slightly more people wanted it and all the fans have done is complain
@@connorharnage6697 another thing is they begged for a p3 remake for a while and now they basically don't want it like wtf was the point begging and asking atlus to do it. its like "it got no the answer and femc therefore dogsh*t game"
You gotta be blind and deaf not to think Full Moon Full Life isn't at the least a top 3 Persona Opening. I still love Burn My Dread just as much and I don't personally feel the need to choose between them.
ANOTHER THING WITH THE ANSWER AND FEMC ARGUMENTS! ATLUS IS STILL A COMPANY! THESE WOULD BOTH TAKE A SHITTON OF MONEY AND TIME. Yeah, they HAVE both of those but man you have to remember there are people making these games. Let them see their damn family
Fully Agree with Tartarus part. While i still went through P3 because its a good game outside of that. As a person who played P4 and 5 before FES the dungeon crawling was extremely jarring. From no major change in music, the fact it felt simply unfair and its fairly obvious they were just testing things out that wouldnt even make it past it into the sequel. Atlus known for difficulty games but the way it was done in P3 felt more frustrating than rewarding (Not saying Persona 3 is SMT level or anything)
I'm glad I wasn't alone on that part, I genuinely thought that it was just me for the longest time. \( ̄︶ ̄*\) Finding out that the majority of the bosses I went up against in-game actively had no weaknesses was one of the most craziest things I've seen from Persona. Especially with how they built the bosses' kits, it really felt like the game was actively disrespecting the player for not wanting to shell out several hours of grinding with mountains of risk attached to it.`(*>﹏
@CyKer Yeah I played it through emulator so they had a save state feature which was a game changer. Golden and Royal when you die you just restart the boss or the floor but with FES it's your last save which is ridiculous. I'll give Atlus a pass though because during the time checkpoints being insane unfair were common place. With how insanely difficult some of the Tartarus sub bosses are I likely would've went insane without that save state
Yeah I feel this. Im currently playing Fes and I HATE tartarus. Its too grindy, if you die reloading to a save 2 hours before is annoying, and the sick mechanic is infuriating! I love the ps3 story. I enjoy Makoto and his backstory. I've never played portable so femc is a non issue for me. However the original was meant to have Makoto soooo it makes sense that shes not there. The answer probably should have been remade and included but its a remake of the original so fine. 🤷♀️. Itll most likely be included later because its an opportunity to get more money from this game. Im happy with the addition of new songs and remixed versions because I dont want the exact same experience...I want it to be new enough to warrant buying the same game again. The new music sounds great, it looks like ppl just want to find things to critique and be mad about. Its alittle silly. It looks great, I was hesitant to buy it immediately at first myself because of the omissions...I realized though that it deserves a day one buy to support this game and the obvious love that the creators have for it. So good video, and I hope the game does well and most people love it.
This is my first time with P3, but I am honestly tired of fanboys whining about their nostalgia. I saw Reddit posts nitpick down to literal UI aesthetics not being the same as the original is what broke the camel’s back for me
Yeah, it can really seem like a toxic environment there. I may be able to say much to fix that, but I'm glad that this video resonated with you. Thanks for your input, I hope you find yourself enjoying the game! (✿◡‿◡)
Thank you for this video. I myself played Fes 2 years ago, i don t have nostalgia and i have a lot of gripes with the original game. Accesability for the player is almost 0, there s a lot of mechanics that are there just for the sake of it and they got rid of them in persona 4, the 2D cutscenes looked bad to me like the character designs were lacking and the angles of the camera were ways way too zoomed in and Could not understand wtf was going on. That being Said i love that Game for the story and the characters, not for the game aspect of it. So if reload can keep that Incredible story and characters But now the game is actually fun and replayable, then im sorry this will be the best version. Im never disturbed by nostalgia, i prefer ff7 remake over the first part of ff7 and i prefer resident evil 4 remake over the original, and thats bc i prefer better gameplay 🤣
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! ψ(`∇´)ψ Persona 3's accessibility was insanely bad, and the only reason I pursued it was to be able to see the amazing story they have lined in-between the torture. I believe that Reload will hold itself up and make the entire game so much more than what the original had already given! ○( ^皿^)っ I hope your experience with it will be worth it! (≧∇≦)ノ
This issue for me when it comes to the new singer is... I just don't like the way she sounds. Without sounding like I'm up my own ass, she just doesn't have "spirit" in her singing. I like the songs that were crafted specifically for her. The newer ones are more poppy and definitely fit her, but her covers aren't for me. Not bad, but meh. I personally will be downloading a mod as soon as one drops. A nitpick I have with the game is them taking away your weapon type-select options AND taking away the option to select what sports club to join. I wanted to use a two-handed sword AND be in the kendo club. It made sense to me. At night you're hunting shadows and by day you train with Kaz in the kendo club. A very personal experience but it was little shit like that that got me to put myself in the game. Those are thing that I would do If I were a persona user experiencing the dark hour. Now, I'm not playing as me or my character. I'm playing as Makoto/Minato and Persona 3 was never about Makoto/Minato for me.
Although i dont think the new opening is bad, i actually like it alot, its true that it doesnt setup the vibe of the game. I hate how every opening since p4golden has to be some cringey happy anime opening. The classic opening was much more aligned with the theme of the game with lonely feeling artwork and cinematography, and a music track that encapsulated the struggle of not knowing your purpose in life. Its the same for p3fes. The opening sets up the game incorrectly.
I think there are a lot of criticisms to be had with the opening, personally. Obviously these things are very subjective, but when I watched it, i was instantly reminded of P2 IS's opening. A pretty, but otherwise unsubstantial OP. While it dedicated some time to establishing the themes and characters, a lot of it felt like unnecessary filler with the characters on the screen doing nothing. The music is very different in tone and atmosphere to the original, which isnt a great thing as the game obviously wants to preserve the original atmosphere. I'm really looking forward to the game! But criticism can and SHOULD be made. It is not a nostalgia issue.
New OST was good but Mass Des was so overly edit it sound so bad in Reloaded. No idea how big company could mess this up but the edit really destroy that song for me so annoying to listen. Good thing other new OST are kick ass.
Conpletely agree with all points raised. Personally i think hard core fans are salty about reload because all they ever wanted was a definitive way to play persona 3. This got remade due to fan demand but i dont think atlus grasped what they meant. Take female mc out of it for a minute. Fes has the answer which is canon story. But the gameplay elements like not controlling party members was seen as a negative. Portable fixes all the gameplay elements but doesnt have cutscenes or the answer so not the full picture/story. I think people wanted a remake that had the FULL story FULL picture FULL uptodate gameplay elements. I started with royal an worked back so im not one of the fans and tonsay they wont play it is stupid but i can fully understand that this remake isnt a definitive version until the answer goes in as dlc or as the vid said a persona 3 reloaded
I'm glad that you agree with the things I've brought up! ♪(^∇^*) I totally understand with wanting to have a true definitive version of Persona 3, but right now the better play for ATLUS is to put more focus into the main game while implementing the best of both worlds. Switching to a new engine while being expected to do a 30 hour expansion on top of an original 70 hour experience, and then rewriting the dialogue for FEMC is a whole lot easier said than done. We wouldn't have seen this game for a LONG time had it been that way. I'm glad you enjoyed the video! (✿◡‿◡)
This op is one if the best persona openings, despite P3 not being my favorite of the all persona titles, I played. P3 to P5. I'm inclined to try out this game, because I'm interested to see, if this game, makes appreciate P3 more or less. The difficulty is no issue, since is up to you, what difficulty you play on and if you control the party or not. Sometimes is stupid dumb complaining just for the sake of it or when isn't literally praising a literal piece of 💩, nowadays there isn't a middle ground or use of good sense. That's why I love being the member of the forgotten gen, gen X. 😎 And even some day, they decide to remake P4 and decide in not including Marie social link, you wouldn't see me "cry me a river" over it. The same way, they only remade P3 The Journey sprinkled with some Fes and Portable stuff, without the Femmc and the Answer, so what, isn't the end of the world. Younger gens shessh. 😅
Being a PSP fan, I'm going in with as little nostalgia as possible. The song in the original game is, by far, the best. Visuals are good, but it's the song that makes it god tier. PSP is generally good, but not as good in either category. Reload's song is the second best, but the visuals are the best. Not quite god-tier, but by no means a disappointment.
There's definitely rises and faults within the openings and I'm super glad that you showcased that feeling in your comment! ( ╹▽╹ ) The original music does slap, I couldn't blame anyone for preferring it over the newer renditions! (✿^‿^) Thanks for your input, I hope P3R does its best for you! (◠‿・)-☆
Nah man, I played P3 in 2023 due to the hype for the remake and still think Reload is a downgrade in most aspects. Not having the answer or the femc is the least of its problem.
i agree with everything i started with p5r and worked my way down to P3P so i know how taxing tartarus was and how dreadfully exhausting it can be to hear the same OST over and over again in a 1 minute loop funnily enough i still loved P3 to the core not being able to see the answer getting this treatment or the FemC route is a bummer but i am used to that.. be it monster hunter, persona or other RPG games, its always the same... you get the main game and the expansion later. that being said i think there is still a possibility that they'll just capitalize on that and potentially release the answer among other things in the future, i mean they do have the tendency to milk the fuck outta their franchize. and if they dont? who cares? this games looks better than P5, the music still fucking slaps (as per persona standards) and the VA's are doing a splendid job at bringing our favorite cast to life (see the interviews for yourself man they actually are really passionate about this... no issues here) sure its different but that is the point, its a remake and not a remaster the only thing i agree with P3 vets is the fact that they are yearning for a P5R just for P3... a complete package with the modern QOL changes to truly have a comfortable way to enjoy this journey to the fullest. alas... that is not enough reason to boycott the game and not play it! my ass is literally vibrating off my chair cause i cant wait to sink my teeth into this probable diamond of JRPG gaming. if anything, just apreciate the game for what it is meant to be, art and a fun way to escape reality. as this generation is always saying: Let. Them. C O O K. sincerely just my opinion
I'm so glad to see that you're looking forward to it! It's ridiculous to see the reasons why people are thinking it's not worth a shot because of small factors that don't take away from the full experience. ಥ‿ಥ I also wish for a definitive way for P3 to release, but once again, they can always come back to do that whenever they're ready! ( ╹▽╹ ) I appreciate your enthusiasm and appreciate you leaving your thoughts below! I hope the game lives up to all the excitement you have for it! (人 •͈ᴗ•͈)
I see others elitis persona fan didn't want to play it, because they want p6 instead and didn't want to experience the same game they played in ps2 era😅
If im being honest Soul Phrase is better in my personal opinion BUT P3FES TBH IS ONE OF THE WORST OPENINGS. But thats just me so lets wait and see how others agree to disagree with me. But here’s my rankings. 1.Soul Phrase 2.Burn my Dread 3.Full Moon Full Life 4. P3FES
I don't think it's all just nostalgia. I watched through full moon full life so many times, I love it. Yet, I still think Burn My Dread is better, not because of nostalgia (I literally started FES two weeks ago), but because I genuinely think it's better. As far as the songs go, I'm not opposed to the new soundtrack, and prefer some of the new renditions. I still think Mass Destruction, WTMROS, and Iwatodai Dorm are worse than the originals, but songs like changing seasons are better, and the new songs like Color Your Night and It's Going Down Now are bangers. It's okay for things to be different, and for people to have different opinions, but saying the old thing is objectively worse and people only prefer it because of nostalgia is just wrong
I don't believe my argument got understood properly, so allow me to reiterate. It's perfectly valid to still prefer the originals over the newer renditions, I'm not against that whatsoever! That's purely preference! I was aiming towards people who let that nostalgia control whether or not they would even give Reload a shot. I wasn't saying everyone believes it to be better due to nostalgia, but that person in particular. I also never claimed the older opening to be objectively worse at all, and the majority of my points weren't objective, as they were based on my personal experiences. I hope that clears everything up! ( ╹▽╹ )
this post is gonna be lengthy so bear with me : i love the original P3/FES and all ... but saying the new Opening for Reload is "The Worst in the series" is perhaps the dumbest thing i've ever read in 2024. HOW in the Flying Farm is this the worst in the series? have they not seen the Persona 1 PS1 intro? 😂 nothing against Burn My Dread , that shit slaps too. but it slaps for its own generation , this here slaps for a new generation. Remakes are NOT the same as the original that's literally the entire point of a Remake... oh what's that? you hate the Remake? WELL PLAY THE ORIGINAL. ITS STILL THERE. you can still access it the same way you could all this time 😂. P3FES even has mods on PC/Emulator that drastically enhances the experience , so much so it can be called an unofficial Remaster at this point. my favorite game in the series is Persona 2 Duology on PSP , both Innocent Sin and Eternal Punishment slap hard in every metric i can possibly think of. but if they remake them one day and change some stuff in them as long as the new games are enjoyable for me i won't mind it at all and if i hate it , i just simply continue to play the original lol. as for Nostalgia. yes that is a thing , however i played these games recently so i don't have that lens and thanks to that i can agree with your points about Tartarus. now granted i hate Mementos in 5 a lot more coz its a copy of Tartarus except it felt a lot more boring for me personally. but Tartarus was still a very frustrating thing i had to experience in any RPGs up to this point really. i like the idea on paper but in execution (especially when you don't have Party Control) its really sad how quick the novelty falls off. which is probably why i love Persona 4 a lot more than 3. (4 has its own flaws tho) Music ... bro the new Music slaps and i've been saying this since day one. i liked the original but the new one is also great. (my only issue is frog noises in Mass Destruction really lmao) overall , great content homie. subbing now.
Woah, You've covered a whole lot of grounds in this comment, haha! I'm honestly not sure how to respond! (✿^‿^) I'm glad to see how passionate you are about the things I covered in the video! Your own personal insight was a really interesting read, and I'm very appreciative you decided to leave it below. ( ꈍᴗꈍ) I'm glad you enjoyed the video and I hope P3R does wonders for you! (人 •͈ᴗ•͈)
@@CyKer it is already doing Wonders for me , the entire OST is being dropped on Tim Barry's channel and they are BANGERS... so you were right about Music even more lol. they fucking topped the original. but yeah glad to be here
I'm not saying the game is unplayable without the female route, but saying is only a cosmetic change is the reason people don't like it... for me, the MC early story and social links made me uncomfortable often, and at times, it made me borderline disgusted... as a teen with a growing understanding of the world, many aspects of the male route made me feel icky in ways I had no word to explain and the female route is not just a skin swap, it has a completely different story, she is a lot more upbeat and self-assure, even in the face of great danger where the male MC would passively encourage a guy to be flirty with a girl way out of his league, the female MC would stomp her foot down and tell him he's being creepy, or maybe would stand by the girl and help her get away from the guy who didn't took the hint I'm sorry, but you are plain wrong and missed the point greatly
If the story changes from putting an end to the midnight hour to something else entirely, I would believe you correct about FEMC having a completely different story. However, the story plot-line still follows the same, even if the progression to get there is different. While FEMC may be more upbeat and self-assured even in grave danger, that still doesn't take away from how MC is very calm even in the toughest situations. That leadership role doesn't change through both protagonists. (Although knowing the fact that they both lost their parents, MC's psychological development still makes more sense than FEMC's.) As for the MC encouraging a guy to be flirty with a girl out of his league, there has always been an option to not participate. The same can go for how FEMC can romance Ken, who is in elementary school. But once again, there has always been an option not to participate. Both MC's have their weird social link traits, so an argument like that holds no value. To handpick social links to push a narrative that FEMC does more in one than what MC does in others is ridiculous to me. Once again, I fail to understand why this would be substantial enough to remake the entire game for including FEMC's route. In the end, the themes in both hold true, the story follows the plot the same way, and the differences are only in dialogue, social links, and music. I get that you're saying is that she's more than what I made it out to be in the video, but saying that I'm plain wrong when everything I said still holds true... Yeah, I don't get that. Feel free to tell me otherwise though! ヾ(≧▽≦*)o
@@CyKer yup, you are pretty much wrong in everything about the FEMC's route, I'll not argue what is points of views and what are factual differences, all that I wanted to say I already said, the story is completely different, night and day, and they may follow the same story beats I am not as passionate about this as some people I've talked to, but saying the male and female routes are so similar is like saying you could put the P4 Protagonist in P3 and say the story is the same just with a different student I could go on and on about how the male route does this worse and the female route does this better, but I simply urge you take off the "is just the same game with new music and a lightly tweaked story to sell more copies" and play the female route at least once
@@Kate_Hanami So, you didn't refute any of my claims, just said I was wrong again, and are now refusing to elaborate on any points I had brought up... Okay. Well, I have some things to say about what you've brought up this time. Persona 4 and Persona 3 are entirely different games in story, MC and FEMC literally come from the same game. That comparison holds no weight for your argument due to the drastically different story-line. I genuinely don't know why you drew that comparison, P4 Protag has nothing to do with this. Claiming you can go on and on about what the MC does worse and FEMC does better is not supporting your argument at all as it tells literally nothing. Admitting you have evidence to prove your claim and failing to provide it doesn't help your case at all. Does it even exist? I've also never made a claim that 'P3P was only made to sell more copies' ever. That wasn't even my argument this entire time, I don't know where you got that from? Feel free to provide any evidence of me saying so. Asking me to play the FEMC route for myself will not change the perspective I've given literally through both comments and inside the video. Which has always been, "It is not worth it for ATLUS to spend so much time recreating the game for FEMC's inclusion." If you're gonna claim I'm wrong and fail provide your evidence backing that, you're not only devaluing your own perspective in the situation, but also FEMC as a whole. If you end up having a response that backs up anything you've claimed, feel free to share. (~ ̄▽ ̄)~
@@CyKer as I said, I will not argue about this, I'm not a keyboard warrior trying to prove I'm right to a stranger in the internet, I played the game on my PSP and I know how the game really is, if anything, you should prove to my how your view is correct, that's the point of the video after all people saying the female route is a palete swap with new music either didn't play her route at all, or just got to the first full moon operation and called it quits, and even people who hated her addition to game can point out the genue effort it took to create what's essentially a brand new story, if they did in-fact played said story and don't bandwagon on the hate train of critic videos that points at the 2D visual novel as the reason the game is bad and is easy to swap some story texts instead of making 3D
@@Kate_Hanami I first adquired Persona 3 for the PlayStation 2 and completed it 100% and no offense it seems like these statements are coming straight out of your ass. By the things you've said it seems like you're being a full-on keyboard warrior who hasn't even watched the UA-cam video to it's fullest. Like the title of the video says "Persona 3 Reload Isn't Replacing Your Nostalgia" or like he says at 9:27. Your attacks towards CyKer make absolute 0 fucking sense, he is literally respecting your opinion whilst you're just here telling him "NUH UH, YOU'RE WRONG BUDDY! " LIKE what's the point you're trying to make? Honestly you sound like a feminist with the line "many aspects of the male route made me feel icky " and it almost feels you just hate men. OOH MY BAD MY FAULT MAKOTO YUKI DOESN'T HAVE THAT SUPER HAPPY ENERGY, it's almost like his parents died?
All of the new songs in the game are great, but the new renditions of the originals do not compare, and some of them straight up feel jarring. Nobody is saying they should've dragged the original vocalist into the studio and forced her to perform all of the songs at gunpoint lol. Just because replacing her was the best option, that doesn't make the new renditions as good as the originals. I get that you're excited for the game and so am I, but a lot of these criticisms are completely valid reasons not to want to play this game. If a game does not deliver on what a person expected, it's completely reasonable for them not to want to play it. If you wanted the answer and the female protagonist then I get why they wouldn't wanna play this game because neither are in it. If they don't like the music in the game then that's their opinion and it's a completely valid reason not to play it. If they didn't like the art style in Persona 5 then why would they like it in this game? It's just their opinion.
I think it's a skill issue and a flaw to hold yourself back from playing a remake of a game you enjoyed from its OG predecessor all bc the music is different/re-arranged, and the certain content elements are not added day 1. That thinking is so flawed imo and this comment also screams being held back by nostalgia if ppl are stuck up on not playing P3R bc FEMC and The Answer not being included when the game itself doesn't NEED either to be good.
@@Goruto-EX It's a skill issue to not want to play a game that doesn't have any of the things you liked about the previous versions? This is why people think Persona fans are retarded and I honestly can't blame them when you say shit like this lol.

Thank you, many people don't give a chance to what's different, that also goes to the new Vas, I think every remake in existence goes through that, and instead of enjoying it, people compare too much with it's original version, people don't want to believe it, and I hate to use the term blind by nostalgia, but nostalgia can give you a little bias, some of those people are really agressive too and attack those who like a remake by calling them consumers in the derogatory way and other insults, let's not forget meaningless review bombs, like it happened with RE 4 remake
persona fans when title song A and ps2 polygons don't make a comeback in the reload version hence ruining their entire life
I trust that they'll see the error in their ways, because this is an insane result if they follow through.(;´д`)ゞ
shut up?
your oponion is stupid. I played every persona and the old ones are the best ones objectively. not because of nostalgia but because there is more care in it. I grew up on the Persona series and you're just objectively incorrect.
That are persona fans for ya
It's been insane for me to witness, especially from people who REALLY love Persona 3. It was a real eye opener, as bad as it was.
I'm glad you thought my video was of good quality, it's appreciated! (◍•ᴗ•◍)
> we shouldn't be comparing the new voices, tracks and openings
That's true at all.
Persona 3 was my first game ever as a child and now as a adult im happy I can play it again after all these years
That sounds like an insane childhood to have! (☉。☉)!
I hope that the game will live up to your expectations! (人 •͈ᴗ•͈)
What a first game to play, I'm kinda jealous! I played it late, but I was 14 at the time.
I don't really know anything about persona but it was fun hearing the yap session
Edit: I have played Persona 3 Reload, It's peak, I now know something about persona
It's only getting yappier from here...
Bruh the new intro is better than any other intro. It captures the games themes perfectly. That's what it needed to do.

I've been dealing with this person SOOOO obsessed in loving the botched horribleness that is Persona 3 Portable over Reload to the point their "strong opinion" is validated.
Bullshit.
Ahhh, that sucks... (#°Д°)
There's nothing wrong with preferring Portable, but I definitely hope they won't miss their chance to play through Reload! (✿◡‿◡)
@@CyKer Odds are they would. -_- Their loss.
I definitely have to say that the spinning UI is very appealing despite it not being a revolver!
But I still think "Full Moon: Full Life" is kind of a downgrade from "Burn My Dread"
It reveals a bit TOO much about the game of you ask me. Burn my Dread was quite ominous and minimalist about it's themes. The beat drop moment with Burn my Dread was genuinely amazing. Full Moon: Full Life while still great, doesn't really have that moment.
Ok that new version of Changing Seasons *chef’s kiss* I could just relax to that while listening
I feel the same way too!! I can't wait to hear it in-game with everything else! (≧▽≦)
Nostalgia can be a blessing and a curse
I already finished FES and I'm so hyped for Reload!
Yeah! Learning that Kotone was way different in dialogue choices and personality can put an insane contrast on how the story is meant to be taken was shocking. (゜o゜;
Definitely saying it's just a gender swap isn't doing her justice, but regardless it isn't substantial enough to have the entire game remade just for that.
Anyways, I'm glad you decided to leave your thoughts below! I hope that you are able to enjoy P3R to its fullest! (✿^‿^)

Cool vid, nice to hear this side of people's perspectives in a lot more detail ++
I'm in a bit of a weird side of the spectrum for P3R; I'm finding stuff out about it and frankly the reason that it *is* so similar to the original is what's kinda turning me off from getting it.

Fantastic video! This has to be said people who expected this game to be the definitive version of P3. Expected way too much.

Let the vocal minority miss out, cuz at the end of the day WE MAKING IT OUT OF TARTARUS WITH THESE BANGERS
Also the new vocalists is awesome and deserves to be given time under the sun. Ppl requesting Atlus to have the ability to switch to OG P3 music to listen to instead of Azumi is awful.

Keep preaching brother, og was a great game, but it was very flawed, to the point it took several years to polish the formula for persona with 4 and 5, now that we get to see 3 with this new polish it’s gonna be a blast. It’s like those hating on 5 all over again cause it was different from 4.
Will do! I hope that you find Persona 3 Reload to be a blast, and possibly even more-so than we already think!

I'm glad you're excited for the game, I am too! (☆▽☆)
I just hope they don't make major changes in the story, the ending of persona 3 is my favorite.
(Besides the localizatior spittin fire and bullshit)
Adding more and adding the original cast from the older games is what brought me much joy.

I’ll be honest, I never played the original P3, my first interaction with p3 was when portable came to Xbox, and I can safely say that reload is so much better than portable, but in terms of intros, Reload wipes the floor with FES and Portable, but imo it doesn’t quite live up to original P3 intro
Btw Atlus have confirmed that Reload isn’t a rerelease (but it is Atlus so you never know)
Where is the link to that video where Yumi sings memories of you? I had no idea. Her health was declining. I was doing a whole Lotta research. Even trying to Google as to what happened to her and why she wasn’t reprising her role and persona three reload anyways, it’s a good thing you explained it. on video which I don’t know how you found out but at least it’s nice to know why she wasn’t able to come back which is pretty sad in my opinion but at least she’s still alive.
I originally had the footage of it when someone archived it on UA-cam, however it was taken down mainly due to infringement. I just searched it up and I cannot guarantee it'll stay up long, but it can be watched here: ua-cam.com/video/4UnfLwph0ig/v-deo.html
While I have no official documentation on Yumi's health, it can be seen through her performances through the years that her sound has shifted through the years. There are some that point to her being a smoker, and also reaching a higher age in years.
The best I can do is to provide where I've mainly pulled most of this information from, because once again, there's no official documentation to refer from.

I hope that this will be helpful to your question. (✿◡‿◡)
@@CyKer oh, and I’d like to say when it comes to yumi, Kawamura she never left us when it came to her latest performance
I'm glad you're looking forward to it, I'm sure that the remake will not let us down! 。◕‿◕。
As someone has beat all versions of P3 I'm ready to just burn through the new version. Easier or not i want the vibe.
persona 3 isnt even difficult people just ignored the command feature so they stopped making it so essential later. it makes ludo narrative since you walk life alone but together, youre responcible for your health- go to the bathroom and sleep you lil dork- care about your relationships. one could say while mechanically easier to navigate persona 5 is the opposite design philosphy- youre op nearly the whole time, it makes sense as phantom thieves are presented as highly compotent so they would value being op- they found a way to marry the concept with the mechanical features.
i broke all 3 of these systems and persona 3 is the only one with any push back. a really good example of this is due to how fragile you felt under normal battles- the grim reaper was terrifying. almost as if to say sorry we didnt realize our audience was a buncha crybabies- they stuff the reaper into a box in persona 4. on a second playthrough- never got back that terror that made him so memmorable- never made defeating the final boss izanami- any more fufilling- like cmon you can say its stolkholm- ima just gonna tell you how busted being the healer is.
my main personas were either physical based- a more general magician with one or two elements- and a main healer persona. i do all the healing just tell your cast to knockdown- or full assault. you only use thier support command to get buff later like when aegis is gonna have matarukaja. i had to find out through the internet later that people had been having a poor experience with marin karen- i was shocked cause i always get mitsuru to use only ice and regular attacks- she became my ice expert pretty much. idk maybe im just well suited to play a game that demands you pay attention more. but i never had any of these frustrations- took me 3 playthroughs to ever experience a reverse card.

Tartarus is a balance check.
Either way, it still could hold a point, but regardless I'm very appreciative of your optimism, even moreso because it's careful. (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)
Thanks for your insight, and I hope P3R makes it out to be as great as it can be for you! ( ╹▽╹ )
Urm, actually, the answer is being added to P3R in DLC. 🤓🤓🤓
As a wise man once said “Persona games are just soundtracks that happen to have a game too”
idk Persona 3 Fes isn´t my favorite game but the vibes of early 2000s from the game were one of the best aspects
I can listen to mass destruction all day everyday 😅
It's totally okay to prefer the originals because of the vibe that it carries with it. It's really all to preferences! I hope that Persona 3 Reload can create a positive mark on the series, but it's not like I expect everyone to believe it holds a better style than the original feel. Sometimes it's just the nature of how the game was in its time! (~ ̄▽ ̄)~
I really appreciate your insight on this, and I hope that you'll enjoy Reload for what it is!
(I even wrote it out on the screen...)
The entire video is me criticizing people who specifically let nostalgia hold them back from experiencing Persona 3 again, not everyone who finds small things that they prefer the original over.
There's been quite a few people who had attacked my character which went way further than what the original topic was about. I could've possibly worded better about the group of people I was talking about being blinded by nostalgia, which could've solved most of the comments going against my opinions. So I apologize for my toxicity in my previous comment. I genuinely mean that. (✿◡‿◡)
I have no qualms with people who enjoy the things they've experienced first and still prefer it that way-- I think that's great! (っ °Д °;)っ
I'll do better about making sure I state the points I make are purely subjective, and are formed through my own personal experiences. I will also make sure those videos are focused on being more open-ended leading into more discussions rather than just me saying my piece and closing it off. I can get a little where you may have formed I came off as ignorant from that. `(*>﹏
Persona fans are never grateful and its sad.
Let them see their damn family
needed to be said well done friend
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed the video! ( ꈍᴗꈍ)
It’s expanding the Nostalgia
Finding out that the majority of the bosses I went up against in-game actively had no weaknesses was one of the most craziest things I've seen from Persona.
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! ψ(`∇´)ψ
Persona 3's accessibility was insanely bad, and the only reason I pursued it was to be able to see the amazing story they have lined in-between the torture. I believe that Reload will hold itself up and make the entire game so much more than what the original had already given! ○( ^皿^)っ
I hope your experience with it will be worth it!
I totally understand with wanting to have a true definitive version of Persona 3, but right now the better play for ATLUS is to put more focus into the main game while implementing the best of both worlds.
The original music does slap, I couldn't blame anyone for preferring it over the newer renditions! (✿^‿^)
Thanks for your input, I hope P3R does its best for you! (◠‿・)-☆
Burn My Dread is still the best OP but no way is the new OP bad in any way. Not when Shadow World exists
Nah man, I played P3 in 2023 due to the hype for the remake and still think Reload is a downgrade in most aspects. Not having the answer or the femc is the least of its problem.
i agree with everything
i started with p5r and worked my way down to P3P so i know how taxing tartarus was and how dreadfully exhausting it can be to hear the same OST over and over again in a 1 minute loop
funnily enough i still loved P3 to the core
not being able to see the answer getting this treatment or the FemC route is a bummer but i am used to that..
be it monster hunter, persona or other RPG games, its always the same... you get the main game and the expansion later. that being said i think there is still a possibility that they'll just capitalize on that and potentially release the answer among other things in the future, i mean they do have the tendency to milk the fuck outta their franchize. and if they dont? who cares? this games looks better than P5, the music still fucking slaps (as per persona standards) and the VA's are doing a splendid job at bringing our favorite cast to life (see the interviews for yourself man they actually are really passionate about this... no issues here) sure its different but that is the point, its a remake and not a remaster
the only thing i agree with P3 vets is the fact that they are yearning for a P5R just for P3... a complete package with the modern QOL changes to truly have a comfortable way to enjoy this journey to the fullest.
alas... that is not enough reason to boycott the game and not play it! my ass is literally vibrating off my chair cause i cant wait to sink my teeth into this probable diamond of JRPG gaming. if anything, just apreciate the game for what it is meant to be, art and a fun way to escape reality.
as this generation is always saying: Let. Them. C O O K.
sincerely
just my opinion
I'm so glad to see that you're looking forward to it! It's ridiculous to see the reasons why people are thinking it's not worth a shot because of small factors that don't take away from the full experience. ಥ‿ಥ
I also wish for a definitive way for P3 to release, but once again, they can always come back to do that whenever they're ready! ( ╹▽╹ )
I appreciate your enthusiasm and appreciate you leaving your thoughts below! I hope the game lives up to all the excitement you have for it! (人 •͈ᴗ•͈)
I see others elitis persona fan didn't want to play it, because they want p6 instead and didn't want to experience the same game they played in ps2 era😅
Who grinds in megaten games?
my doctor tells me i grind in my sleep, he real af for that (me)
hey if it fixes the valorant addiction then fine by me 👍
Then that, we will do! (~ ̄▽ ̄)~
Pssssh i didn't come for the openings of persona 3 i came for the persona game
If im being honest Soul Phrase is better in my personal opinion BUT P3FES TBH IS ONE OF THE WORST OPENINGS. But thats just me so lets wait and see how others agree to disagree with me.
But here’s my rankings.
1.Soul Phrase
2.Burn my Dread
3.Full Moon Full Life
4. P3FES
This was such an interesting comment to me, I genuinely never would've thought I'd see Soul Phrase so high! φ(゜▽゜*)♪
FEMC had different Social Links
this post is gonna be lengthy so bear with me :
i love the original P3/FES and all ... but saying the new Opening for Reload is "The Worst in the series" is perhaps the dumbest thing i've ever read in 2024. HOW in the Flying Farm is this the worst in the series? have they not seen the Persona 1 PS1 intro? 😂
nothing against Burn My Dread , that shit slaps too. but it slaps for its own generation , this here slaps for a new generation.
(4 has its own flaws tho)
Music ... bro the new Music slaps and i've been saying this since day one. i liked the original but the new one is also great. (my only issue is frog noises in Mass Destruction really lmao)
overall , great content homie. subbing now.
Woah, You've covered a whole lot of grounds in this comment, haha! I'm honestly not sure how to respond! (✿^‿^)
I'm glad to see how passionate you are about the things I covered in the video! Your own personal insight was a really interesting read, and I'm very appreciative you decided to leave it below. ( ꈍᴗꈍ)
I'm glad you enjoyed the video and I hope P3R does wonders for you! (人 •͈ᴗ•͈)
@@CyKer it is already doing Wonders for me , the entire OST is being dropped on Tim Barry's channel and they are BANGERS... so you were right about Music even more lol. they fucking topped the original. but yeah glad to be here
I'm glad to hear that! φ(゜▽゜*)♪
Fem mc should be a secret boss
The Answer was good and necessary epilogue. Persona 3 essay UA-camrs won't change that fact. Not buying this unnecessary remake at full price.
I'm not saying the game is unplayable without the female route, but saying is only a cosmetic change is the reason people don't like it...
for me, the MC early story and social links made me uncomfortable often, and at times, it made me borderline disgusted...
as a teen with a growing understanding of the world, many aspects of the male route made me feel icky in ways I had no word to explain
and the female route is not just a skin swap, it has a completely different story, she is a lot more upbeat and self-assure, even in the face of great danger
where the male MC would passively encourage a guy to be flirty with a girl way out of his league, the female MC would stomp her foot down and tell him he's being creepy, or maybe would stand by the girl and help her get away from the guy who didn't took the hint
I'm sorry, but you are plain wrong and missed the point greatly
If the story changes from putting an end to the midnight hour to something else entirely, I would believe you correct about FEMC having a completely different story. However, the story plot-line still follows the same, even if the progression to get there is different.
While FEMC may be more upbeat and self-assured even in grave danger, that still doesn't take away from how MC is very calm even in the toughest situations. That leadership role doesn't change through both protagonists. (Although knowing the fact that they both lost their parents, MC's psychological development still makes more sense than FEMC's.)
As for the MC encouraging a guy to be flirty with a girl out of his league, there has always been an option to not participate.
@@CyKer yup, you are pretty much wrong in everything about the FEMC's route, I'll not argue what is points of views and what are factual differences, all that I wanted to say I already said, the story is completely different, night and day, and they may follow the same story beats
I am not as passionate about this as some people I've talked to, but saying the male and female routes are so similar is like saying you could put the P4 Protagonist in P3 and say the story is the same just with a different student
I could go on and on about how the male route does this worse and the female route does this better, but I simply urge you take off the "is just the same game with new music and a lightly tweaked story to sell more copies" and play the female route at least once
Which has always been, "It is not worth it for ATLUS to spend so much time recreating the game for FEMC's inclusion."
If you're gonna claim I'm wrong and fail provide your evidence backing that, you're not only devaluing your own perspective in the situation, but also FEMC as a whole.
If you end up having a response that backs up anything you've claimed, feel free to share. (~ ̄▽ ̄)~
@@CyKer as I said, I will not argue about this, I'm not a keyboard warrior trying to prove I'm right to a stranger in the internet, I played the game on my PSP and I know how the game really is, if anything, you should prove to my how your view is correct, that's the point of the video after all
people saying the female route is a palete swap with new music either didn't play her route at all, or just got to the first full moon operation and called it quits, and even people who hated her addition to game can point out the genue effort it took to create what's essentially a brand new story, if they did in-fact played said story and don't bandwagon on the hate train of critic videos that points at the 2D visual novel as the reason the game is bad and is easy to swap some story texts instead of making 3D
