90s baby checking in, i feel blessed I got my 90s childhood and actually experienced the birth of the internet, I still have a point of reference of how things were. you are right tho simpler timers = better childhood I think.
I believe this whole area is now condo,s used to be a go cart track too. Tripoli and Christie pizaa are still there, but the place is a shell of what it used to be
I heard "The Tubes" playing in the back round, that was a new hit at the time.lol. Nice to see people walking around enjoying themselves with their noses in their cell phones
There was a little stand there that did chicken chow mein sandwiches it was on a lightly buttered hamburger roll and I think it was the best thing I've ever had in my whole life to this day... It was about in 1983 too ...
Thank you so much for posting this ! So many, many great memories of going to Salisbury Beach back in the late 70s and 80s. How I miss those days and the innocence of youth. Long live the 80’s!
Great video from the past Salisbury Beach is now just a faded memory of what it once was except for a few of the food places and arcades that are still left rides/midway are long gone 😔
You’re absolutely correct. The center now is just a faded memory of what it once was. It’s on life support grasping on to the one or two landmarks still standing. Joes playland and Christy’s pizza.
Oh man, remember the Skydiver, the Himalaya, The night flight, Witches cove/castle? The early 80's were the best, being a kid. I remember i won an AC/DC mirror and a Red Sox plastic, batting helmet. Salisbury beach was the entertainment king, back then in the Summer.
My moms friend owned the discount store, Ceal Rallo. I would go next door and make motley crue t-shirts. I remeba askin my mom about the Makin Bacon t-shirt that was on the wall, amongst 100's or others. So many awesome memories i wish i could go back to.
born in 1978; would go up for daytrips in the 80's but my memory doesn't remember the scrambler ride ever being outside. It was always in the yellow dome. Rented a cottage every year from 1987 to 1996. 133 Railroad Avenue. Great memories!
Same here. I still remember the name of the cottage we used to rent. It’s no longer there but it sat right where the center started. On the corner was a little convenience store and Beverly Anne’s stood behind it. It was a great location. Some of my greatest memories. I will never forget.
i rented a house right on the street as the water slide and bumper boats. 1 mnt a year in july from 81 to 89. to think i was there. it freaks me out seeing this. i wish it was like this now. cigerette game, happy was the first place i had vinegar on round frys!? Sunday morning you could run the slide for an hour with an orange bracelet. 10 years ago i went and saw my old cottage completely abandoned and borded. It was very sad. very different place. I haven't went since. ty
I've been looking for pictures of the booth that said "Spend your money here, we take it there!" with a picture of an airplane flying to Florida. I'm pretty sure it was the cigarette booth that Ryan mentioned. Cigarette game, those were they days, boy.
Well you can thank all the outsiders who's running the town now they rather have druggies and bar rooms run the beach they think of the children that would of loved it if it was still there
I feel sorry for all the people who didn't get to grow up in the 70s and 80s.. I feel blessed to have been a kid at this time period.. :)

razorjules The “Night Flight”, later called “Space Odyssey” is at 4:05. This was a few years before it was put into the iconic yellow dome building.
