The downfall of Fortnite might have started in Chapter 2 - Season 6 but didn't become a problem until Chapter 3. Once Chapter 4 came, however, it was all over
I gotten used to zero builds ever since it became a thing. Whenever me and my cousins play with builds on, I usually don’t build and even joke about forgetting how to build
people will always argue about zero build vs build, but honestly Zero build is so fun because it’s a lot more “think on your feet” also, a lot people who were playing since the start and got good at building on controller started switching to mouse and keyboard, and learning build all over again with all the new stuff so I think a lot of people just feel a lot more gravitated towards no build, and it really helped me get my friends back into the game
I think that build mode is good when I want to sky base or do memes, but when I want to just play the game I lean towards zero build because it makes me more aware of my surroundings. Also, build mode is way too sweaty or just kids in boxes.
Builds is about playing with builds, for aggressive play or protection. ZB is about the gunplay and not relying on building for either of the two features. People need to understand that the other players enjoy that feature in particular.
I stopped playing fortnite in 2018 because people started becoming architects. Builds mode was great before the gameplay style changed. Zero builds is far more enjoyable and even better than other battle royale.
Ive played almost exclusively zero build since the start of this chapter. On its own building is a cool feature and can be fun to use, but when im going against sweats who build and edit in miliseconds, it very quickly becomes not fun to play.
I think a change that could be made to builds so that people aren’t playing so aggressively with edits could be to make editing cost mats, and lower the max material count by a noticeable amount. this would lead to build players using builds more sparingly, and adds a bit of strategy to choosing wether to build on your opponent, or edit and possibly miss a shot, and lose some mats. This might bring back the more simple build fights of the original fortnite era.
I get where your coming from but I feel there's loads of ways to counter edit plays so you can't just spam edit on the enemy. For instance, if I'm fighting someone in a box I'm not going to edit and 50% of the time it gets me beamed because the window of time is so short so the solution is to either play defensive and go for an opening or find another angle. also, I don't think the strategy in builds is choosing wether to build or edit, rather it's choosing wether build a 1 by 1, try get height or stay in and play defensive
I disagree, even a normal player, or a decent player would kinda notice that editing technically cots mats, as editing already has a downside making the builds weaker when edited, and any decent or even casual player would take advantage of that. + They already lower the max material count in ALL game modes essentially. It already used to be 999, now its 500. You loose mats way faster. Theres many ways to counter *spam building* and its not just spraying, either CHOP them or learn, just a BIT of peace control. It's a game that takes skill true, and spam building can be annoying, but we have to addapt to things that have been in the game for 7 YEARS now. It's simple. learn.
I think that is a good idea but the sweats would cry about it nonstop. If they added this they should add it to pubs only and not ranked or tournaments
As a more competitive player, I’d say that zero build is a lot more fun this season due to the meta. Builds don’t really do a lot to combat the items in this meta; all they really do is give a false sense of security.
After chapter 3 I started to lose interest in builds. It really sucks because I love playing builds, and it's what got me into the game just like everyone else.
F.Y.I: the build sweats make earnings in zero build tournaments while few zero build players had gotten earnings in build tournaments. Even tho I suck at the game, the most kills I got in a solo build match was a 12 kill win back when zero build first came out. The most kills I had gotten in 0 build match was a 15 kill second, when I played 0 builds my opponents can't even aim shit, while in build matches, I get crazy out skilled which helps me get better, now I play ranked and started playing tourneys here and there.
The problem is that the entire chapter promotes this higher level Defense, to a point that, if you're vulnerable, you just fly away and box up. It's uninteresting, simply because these comp. losers can't handle a season where they can't just fo exactly this, cry about it on Twitter and get the game boring again.
I’ve enjoyed playing build a lot this season. The items are so good at countering builds that the game balances out a lot better with less of a skill gap between players. Builds are really good at redirecting enemy cars, but can’t be camped as easy cause of Nitro and the explosive weapons.
i love both modes, i prefer builds coz i like being able to make cover, but this season has made me swap to zero builds as my main mode, im not a very good builder but i’m good enough that i ngl would get tilted if someone fisted into my box, so zero build feels more fair in this season since the visibility is more important then most seasons
Builds is the real or original fortnite but you are right for this season because this season is not made for builds and the ch5 movement makes it way harder to build as the character is slow when building
I prefer builds but I get your perspective. IMO this season has made builds more enjoyable with less people sitting in boxes and more aggressive building, especially in team modes.

I hate the stupid excuse from some build players to Zero Build players that “ZBP aren’t good at the game.” Even though you have to know the map and hiding spots to get cover and have good aim.

@@SosaIDK theres alot more tactics in zb then build. in builds you can not think and kill someone who cant build as well easily. in zb every encounter is dangerous because even a bot can hit a few lucky shots and before you say im shit i mean the henchmen. those bots have better aim than the literal bot players by a mile.
Build mode will definitely decline more as time passes as it is a style of game that simply keeps new players away plus I think that turbo build is a style of gameplay that ruins everything that isn't building itself

Zero build is better in my opinion mainly because you actually have to be good at the game have fast reaction times good aim good positioning and be strategic about your next move but in build it's get in a fight then when it backfires you build up if fortnite never added zero build the game would have died.Like it or not its a fact you cant deny it people quit the game because it was outrageous and if you say "skill issue😂" or "get good bro" then im not taking you seriously infact i was about to quit the game right before zero build got added but if it didn't i would have quit the game a long time ago.
You have to be good in builds as well. If anything you need everything you just said about zerobuilds plus more. Theres a reason all zero build tournemants are won by build players, and why most build players can dominate zero build lobbies but most zero build players cant do the same in build lobbies. Its fine if you like it but if you think it takes more skill then you probably arent very good yourself no offense
In my opinion I think builds has fallen off because it’s more for skilled players. I have a life outside gaming when I go home I just wanna sit down and play without having to deal with sweats it feels like a chore to play

Zero build is less skill. You completely removed a component of the game. You just have to deal with movement and cover. Zero build is probably better for new players however.

@@jerryboubert53 the skills of zero build transfer over to other competitive games. Learning how to build does not teach you skills since it is not transferable to other games. Skills have to applicable in more than one setting for it to be considered a skill. So in my eyes, building is not a skill.

I feel like the skill gap shouldnt be closed thats whats makes the game fun. If everyones the same skill then theres no reason to play or get better

Bullet drop ruined zerobuilds cause its so annoying and stressful to hit your shots. also it makes every gun feel like a dmr or sniper.

Builds especially competitive was unplayable until the nitro splash nerf. You’d literally just be running around in circles.
