This is the only video or article I found where someone actually described the motion needed to pull the bulb out, and mine was stuck - I had to YANK it to get it out, which I never would have done without your video! I was about 20 minutes away from deciding on pulling the whole headlight assembly out! Thank you!
i purchased the bulb a month ago and had put it off until today based on the difficulty demonstrated by this video. In the end, it was a 10 minute job. In the future 5 minutes now that I know what to do and do not have to look and think of what needs to be done. Remove the plastic round cover, pull and slightly shake on the black plastic extension stick and the bulb comes off, attach new bulb to females connectors, insert using the black stick (and watch from outside the alignment, and the bulb goes in easy, close the round plastic cap. I am not a mechanic, just followed the directions of the Owner's Manual. No tools are required other than your right hand.
To remove the bulb from the socket, no tool necessary. Don’t pull or twist the bulb, just tilt the prongs to the side and it will pop right out. Thanks to this video, it took me 10 minutes. For someone who’s already done this before it it literally less than two minutes.
I wish you had put this up 4 years ago! I tried to upgrade my cornering bulb to an ion yellow bulb (that I always upgrade my foul weather lamps...believe me when you get the yellow lights it really helps to see the side of the road when you are turning in the snow at night!) I managed to fit the passenger side bulb in with no issues, but the driver's side (which you uploaded!) I couldn't get in because of the windshield reservoir!Took it to the dealership and they did it for me (for free!) but had to get the service manager's approval because the bulbs were "non-factory" parts.
This video was very useful. It enable me to replace the bulb in under 25 min from popping the bonnet. Thank you for pioneering the way for me with your many hrs of research. I also like Yury M's comment below. If that holds true and I can identify that clip, then it could even speed up the process next time.
Thanks for posting this. I just went through this. However, no surgical instruments needed. There are two metal clips inside that hold the bulb. You need to push on the middle of the clip with flat screwdriver to release the bulb. Then just reach and remove the bulb with your hand.
Interesting. I never found this. Are you able to send or post a photo of this clip and there to push? I will definitely try it next time. Its just so hard to see inside with the limited space.
The difficulty depends on the year of the car and type of engine, regarding the available space to work. In my case, is a 2015 GLK 250, meaning diesel engine. In 2015 headlamps were bi xenon and the replacement of the cornering light is quite simple, 2-3 minutes, without special tools or touching the windshield washer tank.

and in case it makes a difference this was on my 2015 GLK250
I’m pretty sure this is the High Beam. At least on my 2010. The only H7 bulbs on my 2010 are my Low and High beams. Thanks anyway
