@rustyshackleford2605 most people don't deal with seeing dead bodies for a living. You have to develop a dark/morbid sense of humor or you'll never last in the job.
One of the main reasons I loved this series is the police nonsense which only actual police officer would understand. Funny to think how officers these days wouldn’t get how officers once acted.
@@boozecThe lie detector in the season 5 opening is the first thing that comes to mind. David simon shadowed the baltimore pd homicide for a year to write a book so I think almost all of the homicide squad stuff you see on the show was inspired by that
Taterman was a notorious drug dealer in the show hut he was around before the events of the show took place. They're pranking the mew girl and using mostly nonsense or overly complex jargon to fuck with her.
It's easy to watch scenes like this where they're joking around and gloss over the fact that there's a fucking dead person lying next to them.
I mean they didn't kill the dude
@@MM-vs2et Sure, but I would imagine most people would be at least a little unsettled standing next to a corpse.
@@rustyshackleford2605 I think they get used to it after a while. Dark humor helps people cope. Doctors and EMT are famous for it.

@@rustyshackleford2605Not when its your 50th body that year. Dark humor is how they cope. I know cuz im a medic and this is how we deal with it too.
Phone number in the other hand!

“Phone number is in the other hand “ The Bunk 😂
The hardest I laughed in this show.
the way she reads the note, sounds so defeated
I don't know why, but it kills me every time
Just noticed the 2 uniform cops laughing at 1:33

Any other examples?

Wow, contaminate a crimescene for a laugh! Classic! 😂
I don’t get it
The detective put the note there to fuck with her. There's no way that dude wrote the note after he was killed.
