Not confirmed if they're alien or originally from their world. What confirmed is they are sentient, and only following the Admiralty code. Which are the largest and biggest armed ships at the Fleet of Fog. That is Yamato and Musashi. It is a spoiler but imma drop it. Once I-401/Yamato were sunk with Musashi at the last battle. They are ALL freed from the admiralty code and literally they have become what humans have. Freedom of expression, to some, it is a curse, but to others they literally blend in humans at the last scenes of the show. And I wanted a sequel of that on how the Fleet of Fog entities would develop.. because I know, Humans would try to coerce them to war or one of the FOG inhabitants would use an entire nation to conflict. Since despite the differences, Humanity and FOG are a bit the same, mentally. They're paranoid after acquiring that freedom. And Good graces that Kongou and some of her sisters are still alive since they are the first FOG ships that defied the admiralty code.
@@assaulthetzI know I'm rather late to the metaphorical party but the Arpeggio of Blue Steel Manga is still going to this day, admittedly updates are intermittent at best but the fact that they're still writing and drawing the story is amazing after all these years.

I should also read the Arpeggio manga. I've heard good things.

The story of "Arpeggio of Blue Steel" was changed from the material it was being adapted from. People liked the first season so they made 2 movies later on .Which led to a lot of plot hols . If the story wasn't changed this the series would have been way more popular. Let's hope that the studio will revive the series.
Ngl, Aldnoah.Zero really have some of the most addictive BGM I ever listened to. Even after years of not watching it, hearing it once makes me want to go back and watch it again. I am a bit disappointed they didn't make more sequels but damn, the anime is decent (for some people) but for me it's really a great one.

First of all: wow, I forgot how cool the weapons in Arpeggio were! Very nicely done timing and synchronizing scenes to the music. Second of all: while this is a very good AMV, the unfortunate part of making an AMV with this song is it will always be overshadowed by the scene in Aldnoah: Zero where this song originates. Them’s just the breaks. 🙃
My first anime 11 years ago, this definitely helped me realize how absurd anime concepts could be. On a similar note, my favorite show for the past 10 years has been Girls und Panzer, so that already says a lot about my taste in anime lmao. I just can't get enough of military vehicle/vessel what if concepts, especially if there's absurd strategy or planning involved in fight scenes.

loved the anime, especially the early episodes, I feel it got more and more fan-service as it went on, and it went a little over the top near the end with wiping out entire battlegroups just being done casually. Probably because it was an anime that might not be renewed so they just went all in. Still though it was good fun, and I do love the setting. Need to see if i can find the original story anywhere.
In my humble, personal opinion: Ars Nova is a better form of anime Shipgirls. Of course, that's just me. And here's a grain of sea salt to go with that.
well, I do like arpeggio more than other shipgirls series but I do think it's really subjective. I like this more simply because I like sci-fi theme things like Gundam and stuff and this thing is closer to that compared to other shipgirl.
I think because we can physically see what ship they are not just the girl part but ya know, guns the ship itself it's AA defence. The girl robot Android is just a plus. Maybe that is why I liked High school fleet as well and also Girls und Panzer.
NGL if you put the FOG fleet into a Sci Fi vs battle against other anime Sci Fi series it would be pretty dam powerful. As they would re create ships(older versions of ships) which not only have the weapon systems already built into the ship model like the guns etc, they would also add their own weapons into it especially their gravity lasers they love to spam.
