The Manchester Whit Walks
First held in Manchester in 1801,
theses walks are held on the seventh
Sunday after Easter, to commemorate
the descent of the Holy Spirit on the
Apostles (e.g Pentecost).
Typically, the parades include brass bands
and choirs; girls attending are dressed
in beautiful clothes.
