They make another powerhorse model with a 420 cc engine that is much better but it only chips and doesn’t shred. Also, putting wet cardboard into a shredder will only make a mess and clog. I have the 6.5 hp version if your shredder and didn’t care for it either but i really like 420 cc drum chipper.
As a matter of fact, since recording, I actually did dislodge the stuck piece and have since used it twice to chop branches (I gave up on cardboard despite their promo video saying you can use it for that). I've been happy with it in that regard, and I'm glad I hung on to it.
I’ve had mine since 2016. Do not overstuff it and keep your material under 2” ( more like 1.50”) and it will last long time. Don’t store gas in for a long time without stabilizer. Maintain carburetor. I love this machine.

I ended up fixing up the chipper and using it again recently on branches- there's some kick-back at times, but it works great for that! It's like that's what it was meant for... ;)

@curly-hairedcountrygal1275 cardboard won't dull the blade. I use my mower in thickets and when there is there occasion limb on the ground. We all seen what a mower does to paper a d cardboard. Cuts through like butter.
Some of these had gotten stepped down. And were not shredding as some of the other. But your ideas were creative but these are actually better with trees and branches. It’s better to burn or use them as weed blocks. It will chip away the 4 inch branches. Especially if the blades are new and still sharp I did own each model and ended up with the longest one for ease of use
What I really wanted was something to shred TONS of cardboard that we get-- I used it to chip peach/apple branches this year and it ended up working very well! I guess for cardboard I'll need to soak and shred it.
I know this video is about a year old but I must comment. You overstuffed the chipper. The hole that feeds the shredding part of it is smaller than the top opening. The pieces you put in there should be able to fit into it, for instance, the egg cartons should have been ripped in half and put in length wise. The paper wasn't bad, it is more like putting leaves in. Now. You need to do cardboard dry, not wet. It is akin to putting wet paper through a paper shredder, it will jam. The limb you put in the limb chute should have been trimmed of most of the smaller branches. That is why the machine wasn't pulling in down. The branch needs to be able to move around in it to be pulled down. As far as the battery, just charge it and, you can even put it on a trickle charger every once in a while to keep it charged. That way, no manual start needed. Seems like a nice powerful machine and could easily do the job you need, if used properly. Oh also, especially when doing branches or used a stick to push things down into it, wear a pair of leather, not cloth, gloves. I would like to know if you got the machine running again.

Great review. I’ve thought about a wood chipper too. We do a bunch of tree and shrub trimming each year.
