Man , after multiple re-watch, sw rebels definitely has some of the most funniest storm troopers moments.
Reminds me of Gary the Stormtrooper from Robot Chicken and the series Red vs Blue.
Rebels has the most of the best funny moments in all of star wars
In the canon Novel: Thrawn Alliences. Vader flew in the defender and thought the following: 'A dark lord of the sith doesn't gasp in suprise. But if he wasn't it would've been a likely reaction. The Jedi (Anakin) certaintly would. The sheer speed only matched by his own customized Tie'' Vader promised Thrawn he would tell the Emperor about the fighters and why it should be mass produced
Vader: "Now THIS is podracing..."
Imagine the funds for the death star were used to mass produce these tie defenders. the rebels won't have stood a chance

@@sanderbot66 I have read it completely. One of the best SW put to paper and I really wish Disney had adapted that instead of rebooting everything. Rebels set it up with Thrawn back to the Unknown Regions, ready to return as a future villain. Imagine we got a story with the OT trio, with Thrawn, C'baoth and Mara Jade, with Ahsoka and Ezra given some other roles in the fight

And I love Ezra's affinity with Animals, its the representation of his Growth since season 1 when he couldn't even get along with a simple Loth Cat, now Animals guide him and he listens.

LOVE this episode. ONCE AGAIN Sabine and Ezra being this inseparable dynamic duo, getting into the most adorable shenanigans. And the way he handles her when she’s unconscious is so gentle and sweet
Eric & Calvin's mix of utter shock & amusement at 6:18 is just _too_ good. Hahaha.
In a way, that _is_ a controlled test by Thrawn. He knows these rebels well enough, and knows the most likely outcomes.
Now I'm gonna watch the reaction to Chapter 8 of Mando again, at least for the trooper scene. 😁
The TIE Defenders are absolutely the best Imperial ship to fly in Star Wars Squadrons.
already in Tie fighter, X-wing vs Tie figther and X-Wing Alliance... they are the most cool looking imperial ships !
The Empire should have mass produced this kind of ship instead of their crappy Tie-Fighters
@@theawesomeman9821 if you think in term of cost, tie Defender is a premium fighter. Std tie are made easy and cheap so theycan impressby the number.
@@theawesomeman9821 The standard TIE is not bad.. its actually a very good fighter for the role it has about patrolling inmeselly vast regions of space..its cheap. reliable, fast , maneovebrable , easy to mass produce and with more than decent fire power.. its weakness about not having shields ot hyperdrive is offset by the fact that they can be so mass produced that the empire can put them in bases and ships everywhere so they dont need to fly anywhere far
@@sparrowlt You need gifted pilots to outperform the faster rebel pilots and having quality pilots is unlikely if you're mass producing inferior ships

The moment they stopped trying to fit a romantic relationship between them their interactions became some of the best in the series, I hope we had seen more of it

Their interactions improved in the later seasons when they started having more of that sibling dynamic. (I still wouldn't be against a romance coming up later between them tho whenever they show up again in future content--but they don't need it)
@@josumds1896 ironically Ezra maturing enough to not be some lovestruck boy and just instead tries to be her partner and her friend is one of the reasons a romance between them would be so good

Never thought about this before this reaction to this episode, but this reminds me of Fighter Flight, the first season episode where Ezra and Zeb steal a TIE Fighter.

I only found out recently that the ship is a tie defender I always called it a Tri fighter lol
Funny thing is, there IS a ship in Star Wars called the Tri-Fighter, it was one of the Droid ships in the Clone Wars!
So begins one of the coolest mystical plotlines in Star Wars canon (second only in my mind to Mortis)

Last season of Rebels episodes are just so amazing.

The TIE Defenders should have been mass-produced. With shields, a hyperdrive and six laser cannons they were the perfect answer to the X-Wing. Plus, as Thrawn noted, a talented pilot could easily make short work of any enemy fighters. Palpatine really dropped the ball by taking away the funding to move it to the Death Star. Sure, you could use the threat of a Death Star to quell an insurrection, but a full fleet of TIE Defenders could easily do the same, as they could strike fast and were designed to be bombers as well as fighters.
Storywise, the Rebels wouldn't have a chance to beat the Empire if they did that. Its an intentional flaw on George Lucas' part.
That depends since the Defenders are pretty expensive to mass-produce
That was Thrawn plan and what he was proposing the Emperor.. the thing is with Thrawn out of the map later , the destruction of Lothal factories and the nearing completion of Stardust project it fell into oscurity while the empire had bigger problems in their hands (loss of the death star.. big galaxy wide rebellion, etc).. after all you need an excuse because had that thing been mass produced the Rebellion would be very much fucked

The comment at 13:43 is very true, and makes you realize that roughly 5 years pass over the course of this series, almost twice the amount of time that passes in The Clone Wars. A lot happens that we just don't see.
The Tie defender makes one hell of a model ,, I have a full diecast one beautiful ship can't wait to see it in live action at some point.. I love this episode I wouldn't say the wolf casted a spell..Maybe their breath is some type of Anesthesia to help them subdue prey..Like some animals here have venom... wow ,Rick A very good thought about Caleb Dume being born on Lothal You might have something there..Even though it's never stated but it would make sense
Caleb was born on Coruscant, but this was never mentioned in the show

6:00 you can just tell how good Trawn's aim is, because the following 2 shots both hit the windshield on the Defender. If it didnt have shields they would have bin shot. (to see it better slow down to 0.25)

I appreciated Rick's reference to the space sim Elite. If he doesn't know there's a modern version called Elite: Dangerous and it's pretty sick. I spent many many hours playing that but I shelved it a few years ago. Tons of new updates have come out so I might have to revisit it soon. Awesome game, your choice of space combat, space trucking, space exploration or all of the above. It's also a 1:1 representation of the Milky Way galaxy. The galaxy simulation is so good it predicted several stars/planets that were previously undiscovered in real life and it was nearly spot on.
But no, Tie Defender Elite isn't a reference to the game. It's the upgraded ace pilot model of the Defender more or less.
I always forget how tightly knit and intricate the story in season 4 was after the two two-parters.
