    The 8260 being brushless now exceeds the power of Dremel's most powerful corded multi tool by 20%. That alone is the biggest selling point you didn't mention.

    Thanks. I was thinking about "upgrading" to the 8260, but the bluetooth gimmick was actually putting me off. This video was just what I needed, as now I'm certain that my best path is just upgrade my battery.

    Great detailed overview of all the pieces in the kit ✅ Agree the brushless 8260 is much nicer and more quiet than the old 8220. Biggest pro for me is 12V batteries now compatible with BOSCH 12V system. 🔋

    Is the accessory mounting thread around the shaft any different? I am looking for a replacement for an 8220 which has a stripped thread and so will not attach securely to accessories. From your video, the thread looks different, maybe metal, maybe better quality plastic? I at least assume the accessories are compatible, although from other videos the batteries while very similar, fit the charger but not the tool?

    Can i ask.
    I have a Black&Decker badged cordess rotarey that i brought to use for the dog nails (as a first priority). then things like sanding and engraving as a hobby.
    But she vibrates like crazy that i won't use it for anything other then taking the edge off of something.
    If i'm looking for something that will last. In your opinion Would the quality of either these 8200s be a good choic

    I agree, brushless is a big improvement, as he has the interchangeable batteries with the Bosch system.
    But a massive storage box to carry all the gadgetsand gizmos that you are rarely, if not ever going to use. And BLUETOOTH CONNECTION?? come on guys!!
    Anyway, I must dash… I’ve got a load of circles to cut out!

    Are the batteries interchangeable between 8220 and 8260?

    • @TurnandBurnUK
      @TurnandBurnUK  2 місяці тому

      No the 8220 batteries are separate and won't fit the 8260, or vice versa. The batteries in the new 8240 are interchangeable with the 8260.

    You never mention the price,. It is kinda crazy.. i got the basic package with like 5 attachments wheels and it was $200 in a softcase. This has to be atleast $250.

    • @TurnandBurnUK
      @TurnandBurnUK  Місяць тому

      Both of these will support rock cutting with the right cutting disc but for prolonged cutting you might want to consider the corded device

    I really don't see the point of the Bluetooth connection. There's nothing it can do that you can't work out yourself. Call me old school as I'm still using my original Dremel I bought back in the 1990s, the one that came in a grey plastic case. It does everything I need it to do which is mostly carving on woodturned items.

      i own three dremel power tools, one is the very first one i bought at least 4 decades back (a single speed, unused someplace in a box) but it is still going very strong. then a variable speed unit, (395 i inherited from my Dad) and then bought a 8220. great not having a cord in the way.
      but the added cost of a bluetooth deal in a tool. is a turn off for me.
      why would one even need it?
      what good is it?
      just something else to break.
      that ca$e in the video look$ good. but it come$ with way to high of a price.
      i just rebuild the plastic cases with real hinges and locks. but then with my tool box. i already have room for lots of extras. but way too many polishers stuff. never found a use for them. and unless dremel made the add on extras (handles, miter, circle cutter, etc) model specific, i have all those add on tooling things. so to me just money drown the drain. as i have not used any of them.
      could use a second battery for my 8220. (sitting right now waiting on a battery to get charged just so i can finish a small project. did not start with a full charge, as i use it a lot).

      I was thinking about etching the RPM numbers into my 8220 because of course dremel couldn't forking do it.

      The best thing to do is to go to the Dremel website for your current location and look for their list of suppliers. Dremel also retail through Amazon so it worth checking Amazon as well

    I fail to grasp why you would want or need Bluetooth on a Dremel

      Bluetooth is not for everyone but I am sure some people can see the benefits. As part of the unboxing we were highlighting the differences between the two models

      @@TurnandBurnUKI was and still am undecided which one to buy. I’m leaning towards the 8260 because of the battery life but personally I’m put off with the Bluetooth, it’s something I don’t want or need and can’t foresee any situation where it would benefit me from using a non Bluetooth device and I begrudge paying for something I don’t want. You’ve given a fair comparison but for me it comes down to whether it’s worth the extra cost for extended battery life.

      Dremel have also released the 8240 which will replace the 8220, this has the option of the 3ah batteries but no Bluetooth and ergonomically better than the 8220, it maybe worth a consideration. We've also done an unboxing of that if you are interested

    Дядя врет насчет аккума. В каждом по 3 элемента 16850, по-другому 12 вольт не получить. Еще он забыл про фонарик в 8220. Вижу только одно преимущество - бесщеточный мотор.

    • @Flashman36175

      Yes that would be the 8250. Seems to be the basically same tool scans Bluetooth. It has the brushless motor and same 3 amp battery. I tried one and it runs smooth, at lease when new.
      Not sure what Bluetooth can possibly do, its not as if you could let it work unattended (like a washing machine, i found I liked that as where my washing machine is a bit cold to stay there).
      I see where it can programed to limit speed. This could possibly be useful in an commercial assembly environment where you do not want any one to exceed a certain speed. Not sure, if this is the case but I have been places that do electronic assembly and the solder stations had a limit on how high the iron tips can go. I think that is reaching, Personally, I would not want it, what I want is longer runtime in some applications , I guess I could but bigger Bosh battery , Also maybe a smaller lighter ones at other time.
