  • American Conservation Experience archival fellow, Kai Uchida, shares an exciting series of 1934 correspondence between Walker, DuBois, and NAACP leadership detailing DuBois's departure from the flagship civil rights organization.
These records were discovered within the newly acquired historic documents originating from Mrs. Walker's headquarters building in Richmond, VA. The papers are currently being processed at the National Park Service's Northeast Museum Services Center before returning to the Maggie L. Walker National Historic Site in Richmond where they will be available for public research.
