Okay now I get why Michael was ranked in the middle and not higher cuz I think multi-instrument playing = talent. The rushing may have hindered his playing
Multi instrument playing most definitely does not equal talent. Playing an instrument is a learned skill like any other. How well a person can play one instrument tells you a lot more than how many instruments they play. This dude played guitar well. So clearly he has some ability. But his cello playing was absolutely terrible. Painful to hear. Like I said, he played guitar well, so he’s not without talent. But the mere fact that he played multiple instruments means nothing in itself
@@76JStucki Agree, I play violin and also piano and guitar and a tiny tiny bit of cello, but I practice violin for 40 hours a day and when I'm asked what instruments I play, I say only violin and do not drag about the other instruments that I only play to a begginer's level.
Aw thank you! I’m sure if a real / non-amateur flautist watched this, they would be offended by how bad I am on flute lol. @@ashantigilroy1982 thank you so much! 🤍🤍🤍🤍 it’s just practice, practice, practice (and personally for me, a lot of that was ear training which I find to be the most helpful imho) :)
I watched the shortened version first and now that I've seen the whole performance, as a musician myself, my ranking has changed. Summer is still #1, you can tell how comfortable her hands are on the keys regardless of the shapes or movement and being able to play technically AND with feeling is a sign of well-practiced talent. Mary moved up to #2 for me. No doubt she has an amazing voice and the guitar playing was solid but nothing crazy. But they didn't show her playing keys and singing in the other video and that showed a much broader range of talent in vocal control and as extra instrument. Daniel moved up to #3 for me because they only showed him going ham on the cymbal and as a drummer myself, I thought "ok, a little sloppy and this guy just knows how to beat the crap out of a kit" but here he had WAY more range and showed off some subtle stuff that only a well-practice drummer can do naturally. So he actually is good. Sedo got bumped to #4 only because they did actually show his best performance in the shorter video. He's a really talented pianist and if I could he'd be tied for #3 but the longer performance didn't wow me like some of the others did. Michael dropped to #5 after hearing the increased talent from some of the others because while he picked up the most instruments here, each one was an example of "I have this instrument and I spent a few hours learning to play it" rather than some others who have serious proficiency with their Instruments. Though the guitar playing was solid and he can probably do more, he didn't show it here. And Julius owning the number 6 spot because his talent is raw. Clearly a musical guy and had great artistic talent and all the praise for his songwriting is well deserved but he showed piano and voice, neither of which he had serious crafted talent in. They weren't bad but he hasn't practiced like the rest of the musicians here. It has tons of potential, but is raw as it sits on the stage there.
My opinion (I am a rhythmic pianist): 1: Summer. Clearly a professional. Stuck to what she knew. Great stuff. Just not much more to say. 2: Michael. Steady guitar player. Should've shown more of that. It's hard to show real musicality on an instrument where you lack experience. Even though he obviously also had practised a lot on the cello and pedal steel too. 3: Mary. Chose songs to get to show her voice, which was a smart choice, because she nailed it. Her guitar playing was also good and steady, but not too technical (only a few chords). Also stuck to root position chords on the piano 4: Daniel. A bit sloppy, and not really much variety. Clearly a rocker, which he probably does allright. 5: Sedo. The piece is not too technical, and it was still a bit sloppy in parts and not as dynamic as it could have been. But it was steady and good. 6: Julius. Maybe he's a better singer than he got to show here, but it was sadly not that great here. Maybe it even was harder to sing as he tried to do it while playing an instrument he just started learning. Was really unsure about if I should switch Michael and Mary. But it doesn't matter, both did good.
i feel Daniel and Summer absolutely slayed their pieces, even though i wish Summer was presented a better keyboard. the longer one to the far left doesn't look like one with weighted keys, which i wouldn't have touched either, but i also can't play my favorite pieces on anything less than an 88 key.
I know a Jack of all trades makes a master of none. But it’s also not easy to get to the level of proficiency Michael had at each instrument. It matters less to me that he’s not a concert cellist or w/e. His passion for music is clear to me because of how many things he was interested in trying. He’s still no. 3 tho 😂 Summer obv 1 and the guitar girl is 2. Her guitar playing might seem average but her voice is an instrument just as much as the others are. And it’s CLEAR she’s spent years practicing and developing her unique style.
@@beccabrns1723 that’s not the case in music though. For music you need to be able to do something with it though. If you can’t pick up one of the instruments and do one well enough to put on a album or on a stage then what’s the point outside of for fun. The multi instrumentalist was definitely second worst there. No hate ofc, but he’s not got any real skill in anything outside of Guitar and the lap guitar was for show, if that’s the best he’s got to offer with that out of tune SpongeBob then he can’t play it.
1. Summer (No question) 2. Daniel 3. Mary (piano and guitar parts were relatively easy, I give her 3rd because of her voice) 4. Michael 5. Sedo 6. Blue hair guy Playing multiple instruments does not make you a good musician. It's not hard to get to a basic level on a few different instruments, but it's insanely difficult to become exceptional at just one instrument. I'd also say there's a pretty large gap between 4th and 5th.
I would say, as a guitarist (I'm not pro, but I gig a bit), Micheal fairly decent at guitar. The other instruments, however, he probably should have left them out
Playing and understanding multiple instruments makes you a good musician. The more instruments you study, the more you are able to understand them. You can write music easier for those instruments and you are easier to work with as well. His main instrument was clearly guitar which he played very well. I think he came off as showboaty though.
@@PhoenixSplash playing instruments doesn’t make you better though, it shouldn’t be rated as such. On a gig will the hiree ask the best guitar player to whip out their saxophone? Or bass? No they’ll place them on guitar. Understanding the roles of other instruments can be done through learning them or nit as well, it’s not a free pass into superiority like a lot of people think it is if you can play more than one instrument. After all if you’re tryna get a gig but everyone beats you out for every part bc you can play 30 instruments but can’t compete for any of those gig spots bc your skills aren’t honed enough in any specific region then you aren’t the one making the money. No hate to the way he plays music though, if how he finds enjoyment in it is learning more Jack of trades kinda stuff then so be it
Summer, Mary, and Sedo impressed me the most. And this is coming from someone who’s been singing in a 100+ person choir since middle school. Seep’s voice was good, and woulda been so much nicer if her wasn’t so nervous. Summer was extremely skilled in the Piano and was definitely the best. And Mary had a beautiful voice.
been a pianist, flautist (both grade 8) and singer (grade 5) for 10 years, here’s my best to worst ranking! Summer, Mary, Sedo, Daniel, Michael, Julius
my rankings 1) Summer (pretty sure she was classically trained) 2) Michael (probably writes music for tv and commercial purposes) 3) Daniel (Drums are hard) 4) Sedo (good at piano, but no fancy finger work) 5) Mary (to similar to other social media singers) 6) Julius (I feel like he's been on the top100, but he didn't show us much here)
It’s so beautiful I love it!!🥰 all of them are so talented. I understand the first guy doesn’t have much experience but he still has a beautiful voice haha
Sedo 6. Plays one instrument and it wasn"t too hard of a song (only arpeggiated base line) Julius 5. Songwriting is not separate from musical talent. Good singer. He just learned piano and I suspect he plays more than that. Daniel 4. Great drum player. I especially like when he takes it soft and jazzy. Piano meh Mary 3. I love her voice so much. It doesn't take much to use open chords with a capo and simple piano accompaniment. She has a killer voice Michael 2. Plays a lot of instruments and genres. I bet more than we got to see Summer 1. Flute meh. Very breathy (keep practicing) Her piano was amazing. That is a difficult piece and she played it with so much emotion and and dynamic range. I appreciate this even more than the dynamics Michael showed though I suspect he would have been able to show that better were he not rushing to play many instruments. But as it stands, Summer is my #1
not sure if u saw the first vid but there was 2 songs sedo played, idk y the first one in the other video isnt here, i wanted to hear the full perfomance of that one it was way more complex but they only showed mia and sebastians theme here.
Thanks for this! Summer here :) I’m a total amateur on flute, I technically only brought it as a joke because the Jubilee folks told us to bring as many instruments as possible. When I have spare time) once or twice a month for an hour or so I’ll try to practice scales and breath work. Do you know any flautists I should follow for tips? Definitely would love to teach myself more and improve to become more of an intermediate player someday. On piano I performed an original composition that I wrote for my husband - hence the added emotion - titled “JFN” (by Summer Swee-Singh). It’s on Spotify / iTunes etc. in full if you feel so inclined to listen/stream/download/save/playlist it :) there’s also a music video for it with a string trio prelude on my UA-cam channel titled “JFN (with Prelude)” :)
He certainly wasn't terrible, but it is quite clear based on the comments saying how amazing Daniel is, that the general public doesn't really know much of anything about drumming. Fast doesn't equal good, and though he stayed in time for the most part, there was no control of dynamics. It was actually a rather sloppy performance. He certainly has talent, he just needs more time behind the kit
Exactly! I think that to the average person who knows nothing about drumming, the faster a drummer is, the better they are, and most won't hear the sloppiness if it's masked with speed . I was probably the same way before I picked up the sticks myself and realized fast linear chops are probably one of the easiest things to develop. Its the really experienced jazz drummers that blow my mind with their extraordinary dynamic control, complete limb independence, and the ability to execute very complicated subdivisions without losing the pocket. Those drummers are the real example of what talented and technically proficient drumming looks like.
Ikr, I play double bass, this guy plays cello totally rudimentary level (nothing wrong with that of course like Mary said it’s not a competition) but he shouldn’t be ranked 2nd like a lot of people are putting him for it. Just having a lot of meh skills can’t put you on an album or stage ya know
First guy has potential but definitely needs vocal lessons to get where he needs to be. Second guy seems to soft and needs to pick his voice up. 3rd guy, I’m gonna roast you because I’m a drummer but fast doesn’t mean your good bro, slow it down and just feel the beat. Also he is not a piano player. I can play the piano and use the same finger technique he does in piano which means….we have no idea how to play piano right but we are able to do it. 4th chick was super lovely to hear. She got them tunes bruh. 5th guy, I’m gonna pull a Simon Cowell and say don’t sing again brother man, it’s just not for you. Although his piano skills was beautiful. 6th chick was good. I don’t know much about flute but it sounded alright….her piano skills on point though. Love her hand movements. Soooo smooth.🤘🏼 I personally pick the last one playing piano as a winner. That was soooo freaking smooth and beautiful. But second place goes to the chick that sang 4th.
Julius is definitely a great songwriter! You call feel the emotions he expresses in his song; it's nothing to take personally though when it comes to the lack of vocal/singing ability. One can always take lessons if they want to get better in that regard.
Hi, guitarist here. I'm not particularly fantastic, but I'm not bad either. I would consider myself amateur in terms of musicianship. With all of the introductions out of the way, I can say for a fact that Julius has a sub par voice and almost 0 musical talent. If everyone in the world learned three chords and knew how to put words on paper, then the world would be full of great song writers. Sorry for my rant but the fact that Julius is even being considered a musician is really annoying me, and it further pisses me off that he had the gaul to rank himself second. Sincerely, An Angry Guitarist.
1- summer cuz good 2 - Mary cuz good sing 3 - Sedo cuz pretty good piano 4 - drum guy pretty beast drums but kinda just hitting really fast 5 - mid guy 6 blue hair guy
I still think even after watching this that people are confused because vocal artistry and being a musician. they aren't the same thing... why was Mary ranked so high? her skills were rudimentary when it came to playing. she has a beautiful singing voice but that's not what the ranking was. I'm so perplexed.
Thank you!! She was awesome, but her lyrics left a bit to be desired. She has a beautiful voice but her guitar work was nothing more than competent. People don’t get that singers and instrumentalists aren’t the same so why did jubilee set it up this way? She seems like the tightest package because she’s closest to what we as a society listen to. There’s a girl, she’s singing and she’s got music with her. She should’ve been up against other singers. How is a drummer like Daniel or multi instrumentalist like Michael going to stand up next to that? Sedo showed such a vulnerability too, I think it’s what endeared him to the audience. Summer l think it’s been said, she was robbed but she also can read the comments ;) Julius, bless his heart.
I think blue haired guy rated himself so highly because of the emotional attachment he has with the song. Like how in English class, when you write about your trauma, you expect to get a higher grade. He probably thought everyone would say he was amazing because he expressed his emotions

The guy that played 3 instruments really should have just played his guitar for the full 2 minutes. Hes a fantastic guitarist. But not at all impressive with his cello or "spongebob ripping". But I love the guy he made me lol every time he switched to the next instrument. Boi said time to rip some Bach 😂
The guy with blue hair definitely sings and listens to radio music, and learned to play a few chords then considered himself a pro.
Summer was ROBBED by the audience score. Also kinda annoyed they only showed Michael playing multiple instruments in the og video.

I can see why Mary was rated so high. They didn’t show in the main video that she also played the piano and sang.
And also because she's a singer.
It was also a clear yebba copy without individuality
It's cause she played something relatable, same with sedo. If the general public likes what you're doing they'll appreciate you

Okay now I get why Michael was ranked in the middle and not higher cuz I think multi-instrument playing = talent. The rushing may have hindered his playing
WERE YOU RUSHING OR WERE YOU DRAGGING
@@76JStucki why was his cello playing bad? It was good especially under pressure??

Aw thank you! I’m sure if a real / non-amateur flautist watched this, they would be offended by how bad I am on flute lol. I just find it fun to mess around on since I picked it up again (just teaching myself songs I like on it) for kicks early during the pandemic. :) Love that Billie/Khalid song tho :)
@@SummerSweeSinghyou showed off in ur performance :)
@@SummerSweeSingh you should've been ranked first. you are insanely talented.
Makes sense.
@Gabriel oh wow, this is so flattering. Thank you for the encouragement! Yeah, I quit after a year so I could focus on school and piano, violin, soccer and volleyball lol (my parents were def pushing the extracurriculars).
I know my breath control has never been good (back in 6th grade and also now lol), but it’s been really fun teaching myself scales and figuring out songs by ear :) I still have the beginner flute with all plastic hole covers in; I tried taking them out to see how it sounded/felt, and it was TERRIBLE lol, so I definitely need them as a crutch :)
How Michael simplified the guitar song „never going back“ is sacrilegious.
Yeah I only clicked on this to listen to Summer. no offense to the others but her piece moved me the most. Someone please tell me I can find this on spotify or something
Hi! This is so kind :) So flattered it moved you; It’s an original composition of mine -which I wrote for my husband-called “JFN” (by Summer Swee-Singh). It’s on all the big music platforms like Apple Music, Spotify, and Bandcamp, (etcetera).
@@SummerSweeSingh Thats amazing. The expression on your piece is everything. Im definitely going to listen to it. I cant play but I wish I could play like you. Thanks for the reply.
@@ashantigilroy1982 thank you so much! 🤍🤍🤍🤍 it’s just practice, practice, practice (and personally for me, a lot of that was ear training which I find to be the most helpful imho) :)
@@ashantigilroy1982 and thank you so much for listening to JFN!🙏🏽🤍
Very well-said!!
bro the triplets sounded fantastic compared to him smashing the ride in the OG video
My opinion (I am a rhythmic pianist):
1: Summer.
Also stuck to root position chords on the piano
4: Daniel.
Hey! Piano gang represent 🙌🏽🎹 thanks so much. If you want to check out my full composition it’s called “JFN” by Summer Swee-Singh :)

@@joritreisewitz3999 Yeah? Tell me what he did wrong then, drummer boy
i feel Daniel and Summer absolutely slayed their pieces, even though i wish Summer was presented a better keyboard. the longer one to the far left doesn't look like one with weighted keys, which i wouldn't have touched either, but i also can't play my favorite pieces on anything less than an 88 key.
Clear copy of Yebba and no individuality of her own voice
The complete saying was originally: “A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one.”
Fuck no his cello play was not good.
1. Summer (No question)
2. Daniel
3. Mary (piano and guitar parts were relatively easy, I give her 3rd because of her voice)
4. Michael
5. Sedo
6. Blue hair guy
Playing multiple instruments does not make you a good musician.

Love how Sedo is digging the drummers vibes
Sedo 6. Plays one instrument and it wasn"t too hard of a song (only arpeggiated base line)
Julius 5. Songwriting is not separate from musical talent. Good singer. He just learned piano and I suspect he plays more than that.
Daniel 4. Great drum player. I especially like when he takes it soft and jazzy. Piano meh
Mary 3. I love her voice so much. It doesn't take much to use open chords with a capo and simple piano accompaniment. She has a killer voice
Michael 2. Plays a lot of instruments and genres. I bet more than we got to see
Summer 1.
You're obviously not a drummer, Daniel sucked
Thanks for this! Summer here :) I’m a total amateur on flute, I technically only brought it as a joke because the Jubilee folks told us to bring as many instruments as possible. When I have spare time) once or twice a month for an hour or so I’ll try to practice scales and breath work. Do you know any flautists I should follow for tips? Definitely would love to teach myself more and improve to become more of an intermediate player someday.
On piano I performed an original composition that I wrote for my husband - hence the added emotion - titled “JFN” (by Summer Swee-Singh). Great, Jubilee! If you released the full discussions in your more contentious videos that would rock, too 👍
He certainly wasn't terrible, but it is quite clear based on the comments saying how amazing Daniel is, that the general public doesn't really know much of anything about drumming.
Came here for summer🙌. Had to hear the complete piece

As a cellist myself looking at how that guy played the cello was both bizzare and fascinating. Fingers completely flat......
Soooo smooth.🤘🏼
I personally pick the last one playing piano as a winner.

Yep. He is a skilled songwriter but rookie as hell in terms of musicianship.

This video explains why people rated the singer so highly!
Seeing all their hands shake while they play the keyboard hits a weird memory I don’t own
I still think even after watching this that people are confused because vocal artistry and being a musician. they aren't the same thing... why was Mary ranked so high? her skills were rudimentary when it came to playing. she has a beautiful singing voice but that's not what the ranking was. I'm so perplexed.
Agreed, but non-musicians just see what they like. I do love her voice and style but it doesn't take much to play what she did
the musicians themselves ranked her highest too?
Summer l think it’s been said, she was robbed but she also can read the comments ;)
Julius, bless his heart.
singing is music therefore singers are musicians
Vocalists are musicians too

Omg I can’t believe I wanted to hear the blue hair guys performance but stayed after hearing “never going back again” ❤
Summer is an easy #1
Blue haired guy is a great example of the Dunning Kruger effect
I think blue haired guy rated himself so highly because of the emotional attachment he has with the song. Like how in English class, when you write about your trauma, you expect to get a higher grade. He probably thought everyone would say he was amazing because he expressed his emotions
the last girl and the drummer guy had to be the 1st and 2nd wtf
