Marie was manipulative, overbearing, childish and critical, but I'll be damned if she wasn't one of the best, most well-written characters in sitcom history. And Doris Roberts did a fantastic job playing her.
Marie was my MIL in all ways, even living on Long Island. If you have never been to LI, beware. They have the most rude women ever put on earth.
Yes! But, she would also make you dinner anytime and babysit when you need one, I’m sure given the opportunity she’d clean as well. 😁

This sitcom did not get enough traction in the asian market like tbbt, 2 and half men. But it definitely should have. Having watched the whole series its definitely among the best out there.

Sometimes Frank, Marie, and Robert come in the back door like they live across the street back there. And other times they come in the front door like they live across the street that way. That's the only hole I've ever seen in the plots. Otherwise the whole series is just hilarious and I just love it.
I used to think they lived right next to each other not across the street
Well Debra has said repeatedly that she's got a whole freak show living across the street from her. So I guess they live across the street.
I've always wondered about the whole coming in through the front door or through the kitchen. Amazing how they'll walk all the way to the backyard just to enter the house.
Maybe they try the front door first but it's locked sometimes. :)
