Man… I have the navy/red “Thunderbird” edition of this watch from 1994. My first real watch when I was a kid! It’s been in a drawer next to my bed for over 20 years and I decided to throw in a battery and wear it again after all these years. This video was a major lifesaver as I couldn’t figure it out for the life of me haha. Thanks!
My father recently passed and left this watch to me. It sat in his jewelry chest for years because he could never learn how to set it properly. It now is set and keeping time perfectly. Thank you so very much, as it reminds me daily of him.

Gotta pick a nit for a moment. The SET mode also turns on or off DAYLIGHT SAVINGS MODE (they call it SUMMER mode) for each time zone. If time is set locally during daylight savings time without previously turning on summer mode, then all times outside the United States (including UTC) will be off by one hour. When the lower dial is pointing at SET, and the lower right button is pulled out one click, then the lower left button toggles "SUMMER" (daylight savings time) on and off while the upper left button toggles time zones on or off. That is VERY useful... not to be ignored. Thanks for the video!

I would agree with the other UA-camrs...This video is among the very best....Clear and concise... and easy to follow...I did figure out setting it the first time from the book...but it took several days and several mistakes....now due to the age of this beauty...who knows wherel my "Owners manual" is....Since buying this watch for myself as a present for retiring from the Navy, I have purchased two more C300 Blue Angel watches. Last Christmas I gave one to my new Son-in-Law who also just retried from the Navy.... It is a very, very nice watch and so easy to travel with as setting the different time zones is a breeze. The manual for this watch is incomprehensible for Old Folks like me (in fact was incomprehensible before I was an Old Folk). Thanks for making this an easy to follow, step by step set of instructions. My watch is finally on the right time and the right date.
Amazing that after 24 years of owning and almost daily use of this magnificent watch (my grad gift from spouse), I was finally able to synch the two dials which became mismatched several years ago. Thank you so much, Valencia TC! I have several other watches including Rolex, but nothing's like this one or as meaningful. Never thought to search youtube, since Owner's Manual never guided, and several shops wanted big money to open it up and physically move the dials into synch position! Luckily they gave up trying and didn't ruin it. Grateful to you for bringing this heirloom back to top shape again. Single best and most useful youtube video ever...

I've had this watch since 1999/2000. In 2004 I was given a medal by Gen Richard Myers then Chairman Joint Chief of Staff. I have a history with this watch and just don't want to let it go. This video is a lifesaver because many times I just knew it was broke and needed repair. From now on I'll come here first before sending it back to Citizen for repair.

To factory reset is good advice. I spent ages watching the Citizen video, still not being able to set the watch until I saw the end of their video suggesting factory reset. Then I found I could set the watch. Took 45 minutes of messing and almost giving up for me to finally watch the whole vid to discover this.
I've had one of these since 1997. It's a great watch. Especially for those who traverse time zones a lot.

In the past I'd take mine to a watch repair shop. Sometimes this took weeks. This time I went to a place that simply - but importantly - swapped out the battery in minutes but left the rest to me.

A truly great video. My watch has been gathering dust in a dresser drawer for longer than I can remember. When I had the battery changed the other day the jeweller didn’t know how to reset/set the watch. I then downloaded instructions from Citizen.com. They were as clear as mud. I took a shot at UA-cam and viola. You saved my watch from the being relegated to the dresser drawer again. Many thanks and well done.

Thanks for the video. Best instruction for resetting this watch that I have come across. I have returned to it over the years for a refresher due to the constant daylight time saving changes which messes things up for me. I have had my C300 since 1995. Serviced it only once since then.

Thanks for this video. I had a new battery installed last night, and after that the display would only show odd characters, and the hands wouldn't move, no matter what settings I tried. The beginning of your video reminded me to try a full reset, which brought my watch back to life.

10 thumbs up! This video is so much easier to understand than the manual. This is my favorite watch and so easy to adjust time zones when traveling. But I hate when it needs a new battery. Thanks to your video that's a lot easier now. I was surprised that at the the last part of the video you didn't go through adjusting for summer and turning off time zones, top left button turns on/off a time zone being displayed and the bottom left button turns on/off "summer" and that moves the time forward or backwards an hour to adjust for daylight savings without affecting UTC. Great video, now if you would do one just for the operation of my second generation Blue Angel solar watch. That thing is totally backasswords from the original.
I bought that watch after my C300 buttons stopped working some years ago. Bit chunky, but got the C300 working again, so happy to have both.

Thank you so much!!! The manual doesn't cover what you did!!! When u change the battery, you MUST do the reset you showed because 68% of the time the hands will not properly syncbto the digital!!!! Thanks!!!! Great job, WELL DONE

I have reviewed literally HUNDREDS of watches and the new Sailhawk I am about to review has befuddled me. I can't for the life of me get the analog display to match the digital display. Since this is a much older model your instructions are similar but not quite the same. I have read the manual front to back and the two displays simply will not sync up. I even checked to make sure the SMT feature was off and the closest I could get the displays to sync was still one hour off. I have the JE4061-00F Sailhawk. Any tips/tricks?
