I started making custom purses years ago and got out of it a few years ago and thinking of getting back into it again.
Being a 6 foot disabled Marine I've had alot of customer's buy from me because It was made by a man and I custom made purses with materials sent to me and repaired handbags etc.. but got overwhelmed because some people want Walmart prices and don't understand the labor involved in producing an item especially when it was onevof a kind unique.

That's every craftsman, unfortunately, so don't feel like you're alone. Folks don't tend their garden, I say, and think about the long-term ramifications of the things they support with their votes. I try to point this out where I can, and you'd be amazed at how angry people can get about it even as they rush off to walmart to buy something made in Chicom Territory for a pittance. They don't want to admit that they've helped run small businesses out of their towns or make the area so wholly uncompetitive that it's literally cheaper to produce something on the other side of the world than it is right down the street.
