Hey man, just dropping in to let you know that I’ve absolutely burned through your discography since I found you and…. It’s just awesome. Also super cool that you’re running your YT channel. I don’t get much exposure to guys of your ability in my neck of the woods as I’m re-learning slap bass (long hiatus from playing due to life events).
If you don’t mind, I’ve got a quick question for you - how low are you keeping your action?
I’ve been playing this back-and-fourth game between keeping a nice low action and living with some buzz even with a soft touch while playing finger style and a more moderate setup that can generate totally clean notes when playing moderately.
I’m trying to figure out if I just need to slap the snot out of the thing or if I should be keeping a bass with a slammed action for slap work. Been a while since my slap bass skills have been up to snuff…. Like 10 years 😬
