The problem with most/all "beginner" amps is that they're combo from factory with a shitty small speaker, hook it up to a good 2x12 or 4x12 and that baby SINGS
Sounds good and usable.
Now, I'm thinking about swapping out the stock speaker and actually making the amp sound great!!! :-)
@@JoeHartRocks I slapped in an eminence Ragin Cajun on mine. Super happy with sound. Just wish there was a mod to tame the icepick of the drive channel.
I found a couple online. The best seems to be a thread on the Telecaster Discussion Page Reissue (www.tdpri.com/threads/fender-frontman-25r-mods.197749/). A couple of caps and resistors tacked here and there tamed the crazy highs and brought in some mids.
@@JoeHartRocks Yeah I don’t have the confidence and the know hows to be working with the electronics. I wish I did. I’d tame the treble and add an effects loop. Hehe
@@thepajamajams If you were anywhere near me, I'd be more than happy to do the mods. But I get it. If you don't know what you're doing, it's pointless to get in there with a soldering iron!!
