South Korea has planned to deploy laser weapons to combat drones coming from North Korea. This program has been named the "Star Wars Project" and it could begin as soon as this year. Authorities say laser weapons are quiet, invisible, effective, and cheap. They cost just over a dollar per shot. In December 2022, North Korea sent five drones into South Korea's airspace after which the latter struggled to counter them. The two countries are technically at war as their fight in 1953 ended in a ceasefire and not a peace treaty. The United States has noted that both nations have repeatedly breached each other's airspaces. Watch this video to know more.

The Ukrainians were using air defense missiles against drones, or Gatling miniguns which cost six figures every time they fire but $1.50 per shot I will call that cost-effective. unfortunately, drones are causing havoc in the Ukrainian and Russian war it seems to be the future of warfare
But this is the first laser weapon that is cost effective. It only costs $1USD, whereas $10,000 usd per second for other leaser weapons. There is a difference between something you can actually use vs. you only get to watch. It is a game changer.

Not really. USA has patented those weapons decades ago. Problem is, USA has used them, against its own citizens. First in California, then in Hawaii.

Dude. The laser weapon SK made costs 1USD per shot. It's a game changer. Admit it. It is the same weapon with different technology, so it is a different weapon. There is a difference between weapons that one can actually use, vs. one can only get to watch. The ones in the US are too expensive to operate. This can be fired 1000000 times per day without losing too much money.
Not all laser weapons are same.

there’s a reason why Saudi Arabia and most of the Middle Eastern countries buy weapons from South Korea plus Poland Finland Australia, Canada, Estonia and a few other nato countries bought $120 billion worth of military hardware from them too not even China could compete with them in South America unfortunately, they lost all the military contracts to South Korea especially after hearing that Pakistan Thailand, uae and Saudi Arabia had to return China, so-called fire dragon, air defense that was worth $6 billion. I guess the Chinese sold them a lemon so they went with the South Korea's air defense weapons instead and the list goes on
