you don't need to worry about whether the percentage of zinc, etc. is "enough", because the formulation went through testing and achieved that SPF rating and that PA rating

Loving this sunscreen series Kelly! I’ve got a darker skin tone than yourself so have always opted for chemical or hybrid sunscreen! Excited to try the purito one as it has the least white cast and plus I love the centella one!
Love the Purito!!! Used a whole tube!! Recently I discovered Versed mineral sunscreen and it is tinted so more melanin friendly :) In fact Versed has a woman of color that handles the development of products!!!!

The old Biore kids suncreen was one of the best sunscreens I've ever used. I was so sad when Biore decided to discontinue it January this year.
I read that it was reformulated but seems like a downgrade!

That one was seriously so amazing! I got a bottle on YesStyle last November to try and fell in love! Went to get like 10 back ups and can't find it anywhere besides ebay and they want $30-40 for a bottle! 😭😭😭

Hi Kelly I like the purito comfy water sunscreen (especially around the eyes) but it is drying on me (as are all mineral sunscreens I have tried). After all the rave reviews I tried the unscented centella chemical version and miraculously no burning/stinging on my rosacea and eczema prone skin yippee! The modern filters used plus the lack of alcohol make this really wearable for me, which is practically miraculous. It's not exactly moisturising, but nor is it drying so that's fine. I will use up the mineral sunscreens I have including this comfy water one, but will buy the chemical one in the future. Many thanks and best wishes.

Have you tried the Elta MD Tinted Mineral Sunscreen? It’s my favourite! Fragrance- free and essential oil free!☀️
I really like Elta and great if you break out. It’s better than most sunscreens but still has some of the texture and weird smell. Hope that helps...

Sunscreens have become one of my favorite skincare topics, tbh. Purito centella unscented is my holy grail SO FAR but I still like to try more. Definitely gonna try the soon jung one

It seems like Purito's Comfy Water sunscreen is taking the market by storm - I've seen multiple reviews by different skincare influencers comparing few mineral sunscreens and Purito always come as number 1 choice for them. I use it my own too, and I got to say, it's amazing.
Hi Kelly - Would you consider talking about combination sunscreens (mineral + chemical filters) you’ve tried in a future video?
I have very sensitive (due to my Rosacea) yet also very dehydrated-prone skin so while I typically can’t use mineral SPFs because they add to my dehydration too much, I also can’t use 100% chemical ones either bc they cause too much irritation on my skin. (You can’t win, right? 😭)
So, the only answer I’ve found so far that my skin tolerates while also not over-drying is combination sunscreens, such as EltaMD UV Clear which I’m using right now and solves that but, aside from that, is just an “ok” sunscreen IMO and would love to find a good K-beauty/J-beauty one without fragrance!! Thanks for making these! 💕
Canmake mermaid gel is a combo (mineral/chemical) sunscreen and it’s amazing! Fragrance free and lightweight..I have the same issues as you with finding a great sunscreen .. but the canmake mermaid is pretty awesome for me! Got mine from Amazon and am about to order another tube as it is pretty small at only 40grams but I still love it

Thank you for including your mom’s input as well. I too am very sensitive to the sun and am prone to getting rashes and irritation from exposure to it (just my luck I live in Rio🌞 of all places lol) so I’m buying that Purito sunscreen right now

Hi Kelly! Have you seen Isntree came out with three (physical, chemical, and skick) new hyaluronic acid sunscreens? I would be interested to know your thoughts on these, but I also just kinda wanted to tell you about them haha. Their ingredients are great so I bought two of each without any testing or reviews and have been enjoying them a lot! Isntree is my favorite brand right now so I took the leap of faith. So far my favorites are the chemical and the stick. These are a little lighter, but sunscreen stick are fun and I can actually feel the cooling effect Isntree talks about, which usually doesn't happen! I actually think all of these can be used as a moisturizer. I have dry skin, but I like pairing their hyaluronic moist cream with the stick or chemical ones. I probably won't even need the moisturizer with the physical one which is odd because those tend to be the most drying, so it's a little backwards!
Kelly! Loved the video, thank you so much for this one! 💕 I’m looking into mineral/hybrid sunscreens currently, so this has been extremely helpful. So far, I’ve only tried the Biore UV Water Gel and I’m almost out of it but I can’t say I’m too pleased with it, so I want to try out other Asian beauty sunscreens. Looking forward to trying out the Etude House Soon Jung one or the Purito Comfy Water Sunscreen! 💖

I got two bottles of the Keep Cool Bamboo Toner and two of the Etude House Soon Jung Relief Toner earlier this month, thanks to your recommendation...and...my first bottle of bamboo toner is now down to 1/3 full just after two weeks of using it 😬 Guilty of doing 7 or more layers here, but my skin has been really loving it!
I would definitely suggest Canmake, if you're curious about hybrids.

I recently got the purito sunscreen and I have darker skin. You definitely have to work it in but once you do the white cast isn't that bad I even had a coworker ask me if I was wearing makeup (when I wasn't ) with this sunscreen
The whitecast really is so minimal on the Purito, not sure how they achieved it but it's great!
The white cast is manageable for me I wish it wasn't drying then it's perfect for me
The Isntree sunscreen is my HG :) I have oily skin with rossacea and acne and it helps the redness and keeps skin rather matte. The white cast does not bother me, I fix it with bronzer. Tip: It is better to apply it cca 30 min after moisturiser ;) too bad it is now so expensive to get it to my country, I am looking for european alternative with no success yet
there are so many lovely chemical sunscreens out there, but idk why they're all packaged with a screw top! it's a minor inconvenience, but one nonetheless. i wish more of them came in flip tops (like most cleansers). that's partially why i'm leaning towards sun sticks as my next genre of sun care to explore. i feel like having more convenient packaging will make me want to apply sunscreen every day. so yes... would LOVEEEE your sun stick recommendations if u had any.
Hi kelly!! i know this video is about sunscreens but i’d like to ask a moisture barrier question. So when my moisture barrier began weakening, my skin developed an irritation/allergy to vitamin e. i scrapped all the skincare products with tocopherol as they often caused contact dermatitis. i bought stratia liquid gold without reading the ingredients close enough and found tocopherol quite high on the list... same with krave’s great barrier relief. are there any moisture barrier rebuilding products without tocopherol? so many products contain it, i’m at a loss! but i want to find one with that perfect ratio!

I'm using Purito Comfy Sun Block for 2 months now and interesting enough, sometimes its peeled but other times its not. I have dehydrated combo skin but since I'm pregnant, it's more dry skin. Idk what's makes it (the peeling) happens. Either my unbalanced hormones or the climate (I live in Indonesia) or other factors. All in all, I love Purito Sunscreen. I definetely restock them when they are on sale LOL🤣

I’m having such an issue finding a sunscreen. My skin is currently reacting to all chemical filters. And I’m always super sensitive to the drying effects of mineral with my super dry skin. Any recs for a heavy option that’s mineral?
Vanicream spf 50 (mineral) is super moisturizing, but it's not very cosmetically elegant. Shiny finish and white cast. But if you have very dry skin it may not be as shiny for you. If you don't care for white cast I've heard the Cerave spf 30 sheer tint is moisturizing too.
Purito comfy water sunblock legit feels like a moisturizer on my face. Best sunscreen I’ve ever used and no white caste on my tan skin!
I saw that HYGGEE has a mineral sunscreen, but I didnt try it myself. I do have it on my wishlist because it seems to be non-drying.
I haaated the soon jung. Went on like tar, made me look like a mime artist, couldnt wear it in public. Oh it was patchy too and never sunk in. 🙈

The soon Jung sunscreen is great for oily skin and doesn’t break me out. Love this and the CoSRX Aloe Vera sunscreen.

I don't think they're trying to hide something, it just doesn't matter that much except for whitecast?
I think that it's time to invest a UV camera in order to observe the sunscreen's covering ability on the skin right after your application and 2-3 hours later.
Can you address the Purito controversy please? What is your take on what is happening? Do you have any dupes?

Love, love your videos and Kbeauty buuut, the mineral sunscreens...ugh, not good.😬 👎 I do have the Purito one but I still find it too drying, especially after it dries down. Unfortunately just not impressed with any Korean sunscreens, so sticking to my Elta MD mineral tinted, Creave's tinted mineral and Paulas Choice tinted mineral. 🤩

Please try and review Anessa UV Gel! Its physical sunscreen that is so moisturizing and no whitecast at all! In fact, its owned by Shiseido Group. This is the best sunscreen so far that I have ever tried. The only downside is it is not abundant in my country hence comes with high prices.

My favourites are the klairs (white package) and the purito unscented but the chemical one. They don't peel or feel heavy. I couldn't with the mineral purito, it peel horrible.
I get UV induced rashes too! My urticaria makes me so sun sensitive. I do use kid/baby products. I'm using a baby sunscreen, Cerave baby lotion and CeraVe baby moisturizing cream. Could you please do a video over unscented hair products?
I like the Purito Centella sunscreen for days when I am not going anywhere. I use tinted sunscreen for days that I want a make-up look. I do not like wearing foundation and tinted sunscreen has been a lifesaver for me. In the summer I wear Australian Gold (is too drying for me in winter months). In the winter, I like CeraVe and Josie Maran tinted mixed with her regular spf. Would like a review on K-Beauty products that would be good substitutes for the ones I mentioned if you would please! Purito Centella unscented is my favourite..inspired by you..also had tried soon jung before purito..it broke me out on face I guess due to vitamin E..thnx Kelly for such informative video..

So hard to find but a few here were ok!
I thought first that my combo acne prone skin has to have a mineral spf not to break out. I think it was more of an issue of using skincare that had fragrance and alcohol in there, because nowadays my go-to spf is the Purito unscented with organic filters. There might be other people too that could well use organic filters if the formulation is correct for them. Some organic filters do cause irritation for some, much like the zinc oxide (mineral) causes to Kelly. But there is a good message here that needs to be repeated, it doesn't matter which spf you choose as long as you use one. I don't worry about reaplication because I go out for a 90min walk daily and after that I'm at home inside and my apartment looks like a cave so I'm not very concerned about the uv coming through the windows...
Hi Kelly! Watched both sunscreen videos you just put out. I absolutely love the purito sunscreen but do you have any suggestions for a higher spf sunscreen? I live in Las Vegas and worry that 50spf is not enough.
I've missed you, I love your videos! Thank you so much for this video. I have the purito comfy water sun block and love it, but I experience "breakouts" (or rash I'm not sure). I just don't know if it's wearing a sunscreen in general or if maybe this one dries out my skin after a long day of wear. I have not found a sunscreen that won't cause this on my skin, any suggestions? However, I do love the sunscreen. I love how lightweight it is and how it looks and feels. I have oily dehydrated skin. 😣
A good mineral sunscreen with very minimal white cast that I've been using for a year now is Yadah Oh My Sun Protection Milk. I'd love to hear your opinion on it, however, it does have lavender essential oil. Just wanted you to know since you're someone I really look up to! Keep up the good job! Love from Malaysia~
So far Purito is my favorite sunscreen brand but trying to find a waterproof that is just like Purito. I don’t know if there is any out there but I will continue searching. I will try the Biore too.

A fairly new physical sunscreen is the Axis-y no stress sunscreen. It may also a good option for no alcohol, no mineral oil sunscreen
i love the verdio uv moisture essence. it gives you a glow without feeling heavy on the skin unlike other sunscreens ive tried and theres no white cast on dark skin!! however it does sting the eyes really bad which is annoying. so i just avoid the eye area when using this and apply another suncreen there. for the price point it is definitely worth it

I just got the Missha aqua sun gel SPF50 PA++++ to try. It is fragranced unfortunately but I'm hoping my skin and nose can deal with it okay.
dont they have to test the sunscreens to give them the spf and PA score i think that is more important than percentages

I used the Purito sunscreen this morning but I only use it when I’m inside or outside for a limited amount of time. I worked in my garden for about an hour with this one on my skin and had a significant tan later that afternoon. I continue to use it because I love the texture and finish.
Same for me. I really like the texture and how it makes my skin look, but I honestly dont feel that protected wearing this. :/

Happy to help! It took me a long time to realize mineral filters just weren't for my skin but luckily there are great chemical ones these days!
Great video as always . I’m going to order some good j beauty sunscreens as my bday present off yesstyle this year as the shipping of deco website is too expensive to ship to Australia .
Look into roseroseshop, I just got an order from them and even with paying for postage it worked out cheaper than Yesstyle (I also live in Australia). I worked out that the sweet spot for maximising the value of my order for paying postage based on weight was around the 2kg mark.
Edited to add: they also do sample sizes for sunscreens and there are loads to choose from! Although they were sold out of Purito when I ordered T_T

Idk if zinc 3% is enough but if the bottle said spf 50 pa ++++ then it means it has the same protection as the other higher ones, right? It still has the same rating. So im not worried about it
Yes it rates SPF 50+ PA++++! PPD is around 18 or 19 I believe.
It means it has a minimum PPD of 16, but ++++ is anything over that, so there are definitely much better ones for UVA out there, imo. This isn't a sunscreen I'd wear at the beach or for long days out in open spaces.
