Other than Vince having to sit down awkwardly that turned out to be a happy accident. It was a great way to end the Rumble and there's no way you could plan for two guys to hit at the exact same time. It's literally the type of finisher that made both men look equal even though Batista eventually did win
I always wondered why Bischoff and Long did not appear during the controversial finish. That is hilarious that they both left early, and left Vince to deal with this on his own 😂😂.
The fact Vince starts grinning a little while he's sitting there with two torn quads as Dave and John take turns throwing each other out and the crowd keeps getting hotter is always the most amazing detail to me - he's gone from fury to "wow... these guys are SUPER over" delight even as he must be in agony from his quads.
The first Rumble I've ever watched (not live, but after the fact), I'm glad it happened EXACTLY as it did, everything from the botch, to both Cena and Batista landing at the exact same time, to the refs that represent each brand declaring their brand's wrestler the winner to Vince unfortunately and also amusingly tearing his quads, all of that made an already awesome Rumble even better and more memorable.
Would love to see Brisco and Bradshaw tell the story of ECW invading Raw. It Savio Vega vs Bradshaw and Briscoe going out there when Paul Heyman and Sandman started causing trouble.
@@crazypato3752Because Bastista was supposed to win the royal rumble at that time, but both he and Cena fell at the exact same time. Which means months of storyline planning would have gone down the toilet. Vince was furious because if Batista had "lost", it would have ruined everything he was setting up for future events.
I heard he only tore 1 quad in the ring, but it was his refusing help and walking back on his own that tore the other one, which is even more insanely awful and funny at the same time 😆
It had nothing to do with strength. At that point Vince was fueled by unbridled rage, he could have taken a bullet wound and still stomped his ass to his limo to go get it taken care of
I can tell you the exact moment Vince tore his quads that night is when he went to slide under the bottom rope he nailed his quads on the apron as he was sliding into the ring which subsequently tore both quads
The wrestling gods chose the finish that night lol. Pretty 'happy accident' as Bob Ross would say and great improv by the refs and Brisco. The Attitude Era was held together by buying time and doing improv to get to the finish no matter what happened
I always thought that the refs helped vince to the back because the camera did show in the background the time they were gonna help him. I didn't know that he actually walked all by himself with two torn quads. I can only imagine the pain

I love these backstage stories

They left early , they talk about that in this video .
Their quads would've tore too.

Holy sh*t i thought everything but Vince tearing his quads was planned…This makes the ending so much more better 😂
I really love griphook in this one
LOL
Great pod

Vince was so furious, that his anger outclassed his body telling him that he couldn't walk 😂
Why was he so pissed ?

They didn’t put 2 and 2 together? Well if they did they would’ve gotten quads.
That crowd laugh was too good when it happened

That makes sense. In the video it looks like he only blew out his right leg.
Hol up... this is the referee right ?
Yep the legendary Jimmy Korderas
Definition of “task failed successfully”
Was Vince on his hands and knees trying to get to the back or did he literally walk normally to the back? Anybody there that night see what happened?
He hobbled back according to Edge. Apparently he refused assistance until he got to his limo lmfao
Weird Vince would be mad about that it’s something you could not plan better than how it happened should have taken advantage and had a triple threat
Quad tendons? Or the quad muscle ? You can’t walk at all with a ruptured quad tendon let alone two
Exactly....but the truth is he tore one then the other afterwards at the backstage 🤣
It had nothing to do with strength. At that point Vince was fueled by unbridled rage, he could have taken a bullet wound and still stomped his ass to his limo to go get it taken care of
How do you walk with both quads torn? Just using the hamstrings? That’s insane.
Why didn’t they just improvise & make them co-winners like they did with Bret & Luger?
I can tell you the exact moment Vince tore his quads that night is when he went to slide under the bottom rope he nailed his quads on the apron as he was sliding into the ring which subsequently tore both quads
We know.
Damn ouch 😂😂
Thats what i saw, but people "heard" different.. How do you do "the Vince stomp" with a torn quad?

Not that this Rumble was Attitude Era but all who handled it were present for the AE and learned
I always thought that the refs helped vince to the back because the camera did show in the background the time they were gonna help him. I didn't know that he actually walked all by himself with two torn quads. I can only imagine the pain
yeah he walked all the way to his limo refused any help
I admire Vince maintaining his cool, but I bet they didn’t deny his medical care and declare him a “contractor.”
