Unfortunately we live in a world that is very judgemental. I also suffered from major depression and anxiety. I allowed my son to live with his father and step mom, while I saw him every other weekend and holidays. I was trashed by my family. I lost friends and ultimately I lost my son who is now 33 and hasn't spoken to me in 10+ years. He feels I abandoned him no matter how much I was in his life and never more than 2 hours away, a phone call away, etc. Things don't always work out so great. Hayden is very fortunate to have an ex partner who supports her in her mental health journey. I'm very happy she's doing so well now.

She is strong for getting through this, and well spoken but I know what anyone is talking about with her words, drugs do that to people, I think it's easier to spot when you've been around certain people and know what certain types of past drug addicts can sound like. I knew something was going on, I remember she got hate for leaving her daughter with the father. But she has to work on herself. Only women get more comments on parenthood in Hollywood, I never hear about men in entertainment "he's rarely with his kid".

@Clif Diggz trust me, if she didn’t love her child as much as she does, she wouldn’t have separated from her and sent her to be safe with her dad. That is what a self-less mother does. My son for the 1st year of his life was mostly raised by my in laws as I had severe post partum depression and needed to get help. It guts you. But you know what is best for your child even if it’s not you at the time. I couldn’t imagine being in front of a tv from 8 months old to now especially with pedo-wood being the way it is. She endured some dark shit for sure. It can destroy you and she’s lucky to be alive and working through it.

It’s so sad to hear all of these child stars from the 90s and early 00s coming out now as adults and talking about the abuse they endured. Alyson Stoner and Jeanette McCurdy have also talked about their experiences and it makes you wonder if any of the child stars from that time were truly safe and protected.
The industry has changed a lot over the last couple of decades so hopefully kids now are in a better industry with more protections out in place.

@@J43862 It has. But whether it’s enough to protect child actors, idk. I have several friends that work in Hollywood and they’ve all told me that more protections are put into place pretty frequently. The rules about payment have changed, the percentage of earnings that go directly into a trust has increased (I think it’s to 50% from the previous 20% but I’m not sure), and children have set work and school hours that film crews need to work around. Those are the big ones I can think of at the moment. It’s changed, but idk if what’s changed is enough to prevent this type of exploitation.

You are absolutely right about mental health struggles in America- my brother in law battles bipolar/depression/anxiety and getting him help has been the hardest challenge of our lives- for the first 6 years he had a lot of money from his 401k and basically blew it all sleeping his life away in a luxury apartment, he could pay for top notch psychiatrists and hospital stays and prescriptions but now he’s broke, in the hospital and was kicked out of his apartment and can’t afford his psychiatric doctors and will be basically homeless when he’s released- trying to get him help from the State - Texas- is virtually impossible. He could have gotten all the help he needed when he had money and it was too easy for him to ignore his health and never felt the pressure to actually get stable and keep a job and be healthy- now he’s at rock bottom and will have to chose between his car or a shelter and the resources available are pitiful…. He will become a statistic of yet another homeless man with mental illness who can’t afford his prescriptions or a dr or a bed to sleep in- and for anyone wondering why we are not letting him live with us or paying for his meds- etc …we’ve done that and been there - for years- and he didn’t get better, he used it as another way to avoid having to try , avoiding having to get and stay healthy and having him live with us for 3 years literally led to my marriage falling apart because i could see what my ex couldn’t- that we could not help him and that even though he’s legitimately sick he’s incredibly selfish and manipulative- it’s the illness i know- but just like a heroin addict he used and abused everyone in his life - and now my ex has finally come to me and said “ you were right all along “… that’s not what I wanted to hear and it doesn’t mean anything except that my ex will finally not allow his brother to destroy his life…. If J doesn’t want to get healthy then no one can wish it to happen-

I've always envied her for her acting, and beauty. I never knew she was struggling with addiction. It's really hard to see your family members go through it too cause my mom was an alcoholic was my sisters and I were young, and she was not able to provide the best care for us. She was not in my life for a decade. Luckily enough, my dad was a great supporter, and took on the second mom role in my life when my mom could not. To this day my mom is slowly back in my life and I am so grateful that she is choosing to try and get sober.
