HOLY DATA STORM!!!! I was waiting for one of my favorite cover artist-singers to do a GWitch song!!! AAAAAAAA I'M SO EXCITED!!! You were the PERFECT voice actor for Secelia and I'm so happy for your success!!!!! LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I miss the rare retro anime dub that'd have the openings done in English. Woulda been cool to see used this track used for that, especially since you had a role here!
1:56 Hi I am Japanese. I was So surprised when I realized that the English lyric “I might not ” made it closer to Japanese lyric pronounced “Aimai-na “ Great work.
Hello! Thank you for the kind words about the English lyrics. Because Red;birthmark's Japanese lyrics are very beautiful, writing new lyrics is a challenge. ♡
@@InternetAddict069 The lyrics being sung are not actually a translation of the the song Redbirthmark. They're almost entirely different with only allusions to the actual lyrics. It's not really a cover of redbirthmark, but a new song using the same music.
@@Neremworldit is becauae Japanese and English are two completely different languages with different rules to how they write and a direct translation can just sound off or not flow properly with the song ultimately making it worse. So most cover artists wont do a direct translation and instead make their own cover to keep rhythm and flow of the song consistent. Thats why these are called "Covers" rather than "translations"
Just a heads up, this is not a direct translation, more like an alternate take from Suletta's perspective. Give the original lyrics a read, they are even more soul crushing :(
The og Red:Birthmark majorly presented Miorine's perspective and her desire to free Suletta from her fate, and your cover as I see it, more than a cover, feels like a complimentary piece showing us what Suletta is feeling in response to the original lyrics, it's honestly beautiful. To me, both songs stand side by side. Amazing work!
@@ButWhyWasTaken That's fair! I just prefer to see it through the lens of the characters as that's what makes sense to me given this song was used as an ending theme, and I think it's too big a coincidence since what a gathered from the original song does apply to both our MCs. Both Suletta and Miorine had their moments of simple-mindedness and selfishness alike, but it's through the choices they make through the resulting consequences of those actions that the foundations of their relationship are laid and their bonds tempered, which in the end is one of the strongest forms of fantasy: Overcoming obstacles with the bond of another. Sadly never as reliable in reality.
@@ButWhyWasTaken Whether the lyrics were initially intended to be interpreted that way or not doesn't change that this different interpretation still fits almost perfectly and there is no way that was overlooked when the song was chosen for the ED.
@@ButWhyWasTakenLmfao, brother wait til you find out about Fooly Cooly, media in general routinely picks out original songs because they're thematically appropriate for the story.
I love the levels of emotion in this song. Both this version and the OG version you can feel the depth of feelings the songs are channeling. It is beautiful.
IM GENUINELY GOING TO CRY IN PUBLIC RN, your voice is so beautiful!!! I didnt think it was possible for a cover to carry an equally power energy as the JP singer nailed, but you proved me wrong! This is my favorite song of all time, im also going to uwucon to meet Suletta’s JP VA this very next morning so im feeling extra nostalgic about the series so this is really emotional for me, ❤ this cover is so wonderful.
The chorus for this song always hits so high (like at 1:00 I can only do squeaks at that range LOL). You really killed it with the vocal execution. Great work covering this -- this song was one of my most obsessed songs from last season!
I don't even have words for how much I love this cover. I knew you'd totally nail it but this is beyond what I could imagine. Great work, and hope you have a happy birthday.
Your voice at, "God, why's it have to hurt?"! GAA! 😆 Shivers! 🔥 Your voice is so damn powerful, beautiful, and expressive! 🌈🌦 Now to add this to three character playlists and save a link for easy access to listen in the morning! ✨
YOUR PERFORMANCE WAS AMAZING!!! I never leave comments but for this I just genuinely had to express my appreciation for your beautiful work in the community!!! It does not go unnoticed!!! :D this most certainly won't be the last comment I leave either I'm sure, so happy I got to hear this early, I hope you have a wonderful day and I look forward to hearing more of your pieces in the future but for now! This shall be on loop!!!!! ^^
Oh wow you really nailed it, the fluctuating pitch, the voice cracks, absolutely killed it! It genuinely sounds like an English version of the original song and not just a cover.
Holy. Wow. I love listening to the song in japenese and this suddenly came across my homepage and Im so happy it did. I never looked up the lyric translation and hearing this. Wow. It adds even more emotions to it all, got goosebumps and almost cried by understanding what the lyrics are and the story theyre telling, you did such amazing work with this thank you.
Yeah uh you should probably not look up the lyric translation if you don't want to ruin this version. While the singing is great, the lyrics are completely made up and have very little to do with the original song.
@Neremworld Oh ive watched the JP version with subs. I still do love this version. Translating more directly and still having it match the progression of music would be very hard, so its no surprise that changes were made (and i feel were done very well to capture the overall message/vibe of the original lyrics)
ive been following you for as long as i can remember since i discovered your kill la kill covers and i mean this when i say i relaly hope we get to hear you in some english openings for shows one day !!! your sooo talented
Let me just say, I loved this song when I very first heard it, watching the witch from Mercury. Even without being able to fully understand the lyrics, the level of depth of emotion the vocals carried were absolutely bone chilling, and to hear you do this rendition, I literally lost my breath listening to it. It’s so incredibly tragic, and beautiful, and powerful! If I wasn’t already incredibly sure of how unbelievably talented you are, this sealed the deal. This was absolutely remarkable. Matched beautifully note for note! Thanks for putting this out there!
Happy birth anniversary and good looks for cookin again with your vocals on this. I also really liked the lyrics, especially the "cuts with every thorn" and Gepetto parts.
A perfect localization of a wonderful song. And YOU'RE SECILIA?! OMG instant subscription - If you can, come to Otakon someday, I want to get your autograph at my "home con"!
I've finished watching the anime last week and I've been obsessed with this song since. It's so beautiful it hurts, no matter the version. Absolutely amazing work!!
You did so well with this. And the fact you voiced Secelia Dote, makes this even better. I have yet to watch the English Dub, but judging from this you did a good job. Fantastic even.
Try other series. WfM is pretty and has good music but there's far better Gundam shows. Zeta, Unicorn, 8th MS ain't bad, and Stardust Memory is alright. Turn A is really good.
Randomely stumbled across you through this and you NAILED it! I've been listening to this song nonstop since the anime came out and your cover is so spot on! Insta-followed on Spotify! Wonderful work!
Honestly wasn’t sure how to feel about an English version to this song. But I’m glad I gave it a listen. The original singers voice is what made that song for me. The way her voice cracks when she hits those high notes just generates the tragedy and passion for the song. I thought I was gonna be put off by how different the lyrics were, but I’m actually kinda happy you changed it up. I grew up in the era of dubbed theme songs and god was that horrible. But even changing the lyrics, the beautiful tragedy of the song shines through in the same way. I can appreciate you making the song your own. I wouldn’t necessarily call it an “English version” tho. It’s more like…and English twist. 😂

This one gets me the most for tragedy level takes
