Said dinner shouldn't be a thing, it would be like factories inviting the epa for dinner at a fancy restraunt that they (the factories) will be paying for.
I don't see the epa being harsh on them any time soon if that happened.
Most media professionals, especially ones that work in D.C., are exactly that, professionals. A yearly tradition in media, no matter how lavish the setting, won't sway experienced reporters with integrity to not "be harsh" on the elected officials they hold to power.
