In 4th round pick developmental OT Anthony Belton. Not a perfect match, but the thinking is similar. Great Job Phil Perry. I like your plan!
Thinking like you guys as well. Given the lack of talent with the overall group, they need to overdraft the line and sign FA's....I'd sign 2-3 FA's (various quality due to availability) and draft like you suggest - bring in 3 rookie OT's and develop 1k pounds of lineman -beef over the next year or two. Rebuild the bench depth. The top 5 draft pick is supposed to generate a special player, so take at a big $$ position, like tackl, qb, and cb. Any chance they can trade Onwenu for some type of draft capital? Turned off on him as he totally walked all over Mayo , got the big contract and came into camp way out of shape. When he was hungry he was a decent OT and all-pro G. Serious reservations about keeping projected #1 pick....so many holes, and 2026 draft will be much deeper. Trade down and get picks will be a real thing - but truly, good situation to navigate! There is still come college ball to be played -

I agree with your list Phil 1000% . If the Pats have a chance to get Travis Hunter and they don't that would be crazy . I also want Tee Higgins really bad and I wanted him this year so I agree with everything you have said 👍🏻.
Hey Phil! Thanks for this. Been watching the Pats for 45 years, and understand this won’t be fixed in one year, but it shouldn’t take long to become respectable again. Do you know how mindset and the space between the ears is evaluated? Is that more conversation with people close to them and the individual or can they see reactions to good/tough plate? Combination? I feel like building a roster where the core guys are tough-minded is super important for the culture. Maye seems to have it. Just want the other blue chippers to have it too. Thanks!
I don’t mind that Higgins is playing second fiddle to Chase - most WR’s would. I worry about Higgins’ injury history. He’s absolutely a true number one - he’s just on a team with Chase. His health is a concern.
Unfortunately I have no faith in Elliot Wolfs, ability to evaluate talent for the Patriots. Hope I'm wrong, recent draft looking horrendous as of present excluding Maye.
He had say in past drafts and they were just as bad lmbo he’s been a consultant and in the scouting department with the pats for a few years before the GM position lol
@ because his offensive line constantly shoots themselves in the foot? And he tries to make a play happen? Lol if he leads that category next year we have a problem. If you think it’s a problem in his rookie season on a dumpster fire team like this you just don’t know football very well.
@@BryanSmith-bn3wq Maye has the worst offensive line in the NFL, ranked 32nd. The same goes for the receiving core. With that said, I think he looks like a future Hall of Famer.

#1 priority is Drafting Will Campbell with the #1 pick. But, weapons? You might want to do some research on those San Jose St receivers: Nash and Lockhart. Those guys are 6'3" and they go up and get it. You probably can draft both of them in 3rd and 4th rounds
"Roster Building", great subject! Hopefully the Head Turkey (Robert Kraft), tells the GM & coaches to spend money and get a bunch of A Players in free agency & draft.
Walker Little is a PRIORITY FA is he's not tagged, they should pay him the money Perry wants to pay Bolles. Also, Andrews might not even play next year. If he even does play and makes it through next season, a young and talented Center is still a NEED to take over when Andrews leaves or is injured. If Wallace is not solid at RT, then RT is a NEED. So, YOUNG and solid OL players, Higgins, a true FS, #2 CB next to Gonzo, and absolutely nail the 2025 Draft. No to Hunter. Trade the pick and get more picks. Will Johnson CB Michigan is who I would take as a CB. Hunter will not be a successful two-way player in the NFL.
I like Tee Higgins. Solid player. Definitely a no 1 wr on a lot of teams. But if we can get Travis hunter at No. 1. I’d say spend the money elsewhere to load up the rest of the team. You can still sign a cheaper WR. We could have a really fun/competitive team that way. Unless we get Tee at a deal. But that seems very unlikely. Overall, hardest part about the Pats is intriguing FA to come here. So maybe we can only get Tee because we have the money, and not many others. But hopefully Maye creates that intrigue come 2025.
I had Maye as the top QB and player coming out and there is no way I'd take Hunter 1. See what you can get in free agency and trade back. Jacksonville will get the # 1 pick.
In my 35 years before Super Bowl 36 I asked for just one championship in my lifetime and I would be happy. I ended up with 6 and a 20 year run of prosperity. So I guess I should be thankful regardless of what happens with this team now and the future. That being said, I totally am not satisfied with 6 and want to win every year till the end of time!
Phil, I really dont see Robinson on the left side. I see him and Wallace working on the right side next year. I'd like the patriots to sign Walker Lityle at LT and or draft lineman like Wyatt Milum, Grey Zabel, Tate Ratledge in the 2nd or 3rd round. I like McMillan in the 1st round and see Tee Higgins signing elsewhere, Baltimore. Thanks
1. The interior OL situation is interesting..first can they rebuild the interior OL with out using Draft or FA capitol? imo Yes. Also doubt they get the #1 pick. 2. They have too many holes to fill, so in FA get defense and Higgans if he's affordable, Commanders want him too. 3. Draft...maybe think about trading down and getting more picks. 4. Wolf needs to draft better. Maye was a no brainer but the rest was horrible.
@@augustmoon0004 😂 and I’m a patriots fan. While the idea of Higgins and Hunter is tantalizing, the idea of moving back and stocking picks is still the smarter move. The problem with Phil's plan is that it's will take big money, premium draft capital, and not one of those moves improves a defense that is currently free falling.

@jet0819 true but I rather spend that 30+ on multiple free agents, just to get some veterans in the door like Chris Godwin, or amari cooper, Paulson adebo, tre smith , Garrett bolles , have to build from the inside out ,
@ you do realise we can do that too haha we have by far an away so much money in cap space its not even funny. The krafts just need to stop being cheap lil bitches honestly
Bolles has already said he wants to stay in Denver. Ronnie Stanley of the Ravens might be morw realistic and the Ravens are short on cash. Also Smith from KC
Phil great top 5 but unfortunately Pats aren’t going to have the 1st pick it’s looking more like 2nd or 3rd pick so any trade will depend on the partner position and what they’re offering. Travis Hunter is a generational talent he may even be the next Dion Sanders so I wouldn’t trade myself out of drafting him either. Team should definitely sign T Higgins to a 5y 150m contract and a LT.
Pats should have a list of new scouts--and sign them! Groh to go. Phil: why not re-sign Jacobi Meyers? He'd become Drake's best bud. Draft OL studs, sign one OLT too.
Since there is No "Alt" at LT and we can get one in the 2nd round I see signing the Denver LT And the top WR isn't in the class of last years so Higgins looks good - hope he will come here This years top 10 2025 draft prospects seems to be down Trade the #1 or #2 for a package And the Teams wanting a QB will over pay
Could Travis Hunter be a Troy Brown two way player in the NFL? On obvious passing plays to come in as a cornerback and still be a receiver as his primary regular position. Otherwise if you want a quality receiver at number one there may be better options to consider.
I don’t think we end up with the #1 overall pick. I love both the WR and OT suggestion, assuming they’d come to NE. I’d draft McMillan or Will Johnson. Tet is a force of nature. Will Johnson is widely considered the most talented player in the whole draft, I’m a deep draft for CBs. If we had Johnson and Gonzo, that’s that makes our back end one of the best in the league.
Build this roster inside out oline then dline get those set make sure there good being able to run the ball and stop the run and rush the passer is key
If the Pats don’t trade out of the #1 spot and do the Chicago Bears model I’ll be devastated, such a waste to take a CB at 1 when you could get an extra 1st and still end up with Hunter around #5-6
TMAC #1 in draft 2nd rnd get the best cb available unless a tackle drops there are no great standout tackles like last year and get proven Vet linemen on the O and the D thats what you spend your money on for a team thats has very young players and coaches.
I really want to see them get Tyler Warren from Penn State. I see people saying T-Mac from Arizona would be a good fit. I would prefer Travis Hunter or Luther Burden III from Mizzou. This is supposed to be an awful O-Line draft class. We will see. Pats need to get out there and outbid everyone for O-Lineman.
@redpill-finance Will only say that he has gained 10 lbs, at draft time other teams saw him as a center, LG was an over reach 4 him, going up bigger Dlinemen, Andrews was injured and getting long in tooth,, we are a bit thin on the Oline, olines are the weakest units in the NFL I tend to believe if we get a Premo LT in the draft that the Oline can piece together a decent Oline. Protecting a very mobile Maye
If you get Travis Hunter you haven't played both ways but not all the time I mean you put them in some packages on defense like man to man when you got to have it turned down or something like that you can't deny he plays both positions you have to allow him to be natural you can't just force him into a box
Garrett Bolles is the only notable free agent for the Broncos and there’s a 0 percent chance that he doesn’t get re-signed. Ronnie Stanley is the guy that’s way, waaaaay more likely to make free agency. The Ravens made him take a massive pay cut and now he’s returned to form, and Baltimore is known for letting stars walk for comp picks. It’s actually within the realm of possibility that Stanley gets to free agency, where there’s a 0 percent chance of that happening with Bolles.
Do they need to cut Matt Groh loose because of the disasters in the drafts when he had more say? Bring in outside guy from KC, GB, or other good drafting organization?
We should not draft for need (OL). We need to draft for best player available. If that's Abdul Carter, Will Johnson, Travis Hunter, Tet McMillan, I don't get. Just draft a game wrecking stud! Because any of these guys will be massive for the team. Carter would make the front-7 an actual strength of the team, Hunter and Johnson would probably give the Pats one of the best CB duos in the NFL, and McMillan (+Tee Higgins) would give you an offense. As for the OL, sign half a freaking OL in FA! Trey Smith is a stud that can play both OG positions, there are 3-4 good/above-average LTs, and if you can't draft a RT sign a vet RT, too.
Covington is my greatest fear. Draft a LT and C #1 and #2 reset the offensive line for the next 10 years, pay the price and get it done once and for all.
Wrong, you dont spend a top 5 pick on a tackle prospect who is largely considered a guard in the nfl. You spend a top 5 pick on a joe alt, olu fashanu type tackle which is not in this draft. Not to mention wolf is incompetent at drafting. Tmac or will johnson would be best available and pats team needs
@ which further proves my point you dont take a tackle not even on olu’s level as a prospect top 5. I am so convinced wolf cannot draft so at this point it hass to he best available which would be Tmac or Will johnson
I live in Kentucky I would always watch the Patriots when they played. But this year I haven’t even cared. I love Maye but no faith in Mayo in Kraft. It should have never gotten this bad,
AVP can't be demanding after the entire offense obligated Drake to play hero ball for the entire game. If it wasn't for him the offense would be shutout. it took him a miraculous play to put points on the board. The turnovers this game are completely excusable. Unlike the Titans and Rams.
@@obarbeitoI’ve given up hope that Kraft will admit his mistake this off-season. I believe he thought fans would love that they showed strength by hiring a beloved patriots player without doing any interviews but didn’t realize it actually showed a dereliction of duty on his part. Poll from this week 70%!!! of fans want Mayo gone.
@@obarbeitoeven if they do fire Mayo why would Johnson pick the pats over say the cowboys bears jets giants Cleveland could open up. He’s going to have at least 5 other choices
I wouldn't even look at travis hunter, witht he holes we got , he not a reciever than T mac nor luther burden , I personally think he not better than will johnson or taciro davis at defensive back
@ I would. Best player overall in the draft. Move him right on in with Gonzo. You now have probably the best CB duo in football. It helps the DL. Plus he can play the run and tackle very well. Marcus Jones needs to be a PR/KR guy ONLY. He just isn’t the guy. Lick Jonathan Jones to his rightful slot position and let the chips fall where they may.
@ yea I don’t see Hunter as a great WR either. Not better than Tet. I do question Tet’s hands sometimes tho. I think Jayden Higgins as a pass catcher and route runner is slightly better. Tet has more game break speed tho
I usually agree with Phil...however hunter is not the best reciever in the draft, he is a great corner and a good reciever against mid college teams...he isn't playing both sides in the nfl

I think this show just needs a tiny bit of graphics Phil. I was waiting desperately for the "Phil's 5 Point Plan" (P5PP) slide to drop
I agreed with everything you said phil except id draft Josh Simmons from ohio instead of williams
Plan A: sign Higgins and take campbell
Plan B: sign an OT and take mcmillan
They should also pursue godwin
Absolutely!
Strange for Center sounds good
Wasn't Robinson a RT at PSU?
Strange can’t stay on the field. Don’t get your hopes up
@redpill-finance Will only say that he has gained 10 lbs, at draft time other teams saw him as a center,
LG was an over reach 4 him, going up bigger Dlinemen, Andrews was injured and getting long in tooth,,
we are a bit thin on the Oline, olines are the weakest units in the NFL
I tend to believe if we get a Premo LT in the draft that the Oline can piece together a decent Oline.
Protecting a very mobile Maye
If you get Travis Hunter you haven't played both ways but not all the time I mean you put them in some packages on defense like man to man when you got to have it turned down or something like that you can't deny he plays both positions you have to allow him to be natural you can't just force him into a box
Good morning Patriot's fans, Happy Thanksgiving !! Enjoy the turkey and football.
Someone from PIT to help us get competent WRs
Watching this lions and bears game laughing knowing that Tim Patrick is the lions #6 option. He’d probably be the #1 here
The money may not have mattered last season because players did not want to play here. They see what Maye can do and will want to be a part of it. 🤗
I want to trade a 4th rounder for DJ Moore(if possible) then sign Tee Higgins. 1st round - 3rd round, Tackle,CB,Edge,LB (no order)
this also gives time for Baker and Polk to develop and hopefully take over in 3 years
I’m hoping for Higgins and Wirfs in free agency … Then they can address WR, CB, Safety, LB etc
Or take Tet in 1st round, sign DJ reed as CB, and sign a tackle in FA
Kelvin Banks , Jr. offensive left tackle, Texas.
@@TYGERA97olu fashanu has been awful btw
@ which further proves my point you dont take a tackle not even on olu’s level as a prospect top 5. I am so convinced wolf cannot draft so at this point it hass to he best available which would be Tmac or Will johnson
Guy’s 6’4. Not a real LT.
@@TYGERA97 hopefully wolf and mayo are canned, wishful thinking i realize
I live in Kentucky I would always watch the Patriots when they played. But this year I haven’t even cared. I love Maye but no faith in Mayo in Kraft. It should have never gotten this bad,
AVP can't be demanding after the entire offense obligated Drake to play hero ball for the entire game. If it wasn't for him the offense would be shutout. it took him a miraculous play to put points on the board.
The turnovers this game are completely excusable. Unlike the Titans and Rams.
Draft a very good back in the mold of saquan Barkley there's a couple in this draft patriots can get
Hopefully Ben Johnson stays in Detroit next year so we could start turning things around in ‘26
Only if the Krafts decide to keep Mayo, if they fire him, let's hope the Pats bring him
@@obarbeitoI’ve given up hope that Kraft will admit his mistake this off-season.
Im drafting travis hunter no question pair him with gonzo and he can play receiver
T-Mac is a better receiver than Hunter. If you draft Hunter he should play corner
Agreed. But Mayo isn’t gonna play him at WR anyway. They don’t even wanna play Jones who should NOT be a starting corner in NE
Lick Jonathan Jones to his rightful slot position and let the chips fall where they may.
interesting, i disagree, but I don't see the Patriots even drafting him. so it's a moot point, imo.
@ yea I don’t see Hunter as a great WR either. Not better than Tet. I do question Tet’s hands sometimes tho. I think Jayden Higgins as a pass catcher and route runner is slightly better. Tet has more game break speed tho
Wolf has to hit on this draft and spend wisely.
I am dubious…. Need some better talent evaluators
You forgot one very important step. When it comes down to making out, always put on side 1 of Led Zeppelin IV
Don’t sleep on Alaric Jackson
Hire Phill Perry as GM Patriots
I usually agree with Phil...however hunter is not the best reciever in the draft, he is a great corner and a good reciever against mid college teams...he isn't playing both sides in the nfl
Hey about a Left Tackle..why is that so hard for you hard to udnerstand.
Free agency
You sign Tee Higgins and draft tet McMillian
Phil Perry looks like Archer
We need a Gronk we need a Moss we need a Thuney
The amount of “Blue Chip” players the Patriots have could fit in a small van. Need more talent on the roster. A lot more!!!
No way. We need a recoever like McMillan.
I say bowels or Ronnie Stanley
Who cares if tee Higgins played second fiddle he still a beast Higgins or dk Metcalf I still say Higgins b easier to get em
I do not want Deebo
I want T Higgins
I want a Primo LT in the Draft
Maye will be looking to flee this shitshow asap...
Giants getting the 1st pick in the draft.
no we trade down if we get 1st overall travis hunter isnt him and whoever picks 1st overall this draft will be disappointed
"All it costs is money" Thats the problem, Kraft is cheap af
I want tet McMillan he’s your answer at X. God please don’t turn out to be another nkeal
