Hello, and thanks for your video. I just wanted to commented on your question as to why all cars aren't special needs accessible. If you notice the train Conductor places an access ramp between the raised platform and the car entry to allow special needs access. To have all cars with this access you would need door attendant, or Conductors at every door and the whole platform raised for access. To keep costs down, there is only one Conductor at the access car which is normally the 6th car in the train.
The Lakehsore East line between Danforth and Guildwood is a godsend if you're traveling by bike; I've noticed the bike lane infrastructure from Main St eastward is pretty nonexistent, so the GO train is a great alternative.
Helloo good morning Johnny, 🙏 hoped your wekend was super perfecto just the way you like it and good adventure workweek on tap for you with sick yoo T.O tour adventures lol. this was an absolutely great GO train ride from Union Station" downtown" along lakeshore go east line to pickering..woww just spotted some section in south Scarborough I haven't seen in ages like bluffs and Rouge Hill area. sweeet..OK cheers
Nice video, interesting to see Toronto to Pickering other than via the 401. Only thing that was a bit disappointing were the structures at the stops, Metrolinx/GO could have designed those to reflect the surrounding neighborhood and its culture/history. You never said what the final cost was after you tap out of the station and I think I saw a WC sign in the car maybe next time a tour of one (how do they compare to airplane WC). And yes I think you should do more of these, not sure how far you want to go, but a day trip to Barrie or Niagara Falls. Also when the new Eglinton Crosstown is up and running that would be nice to see as well, I think that entire route will also be getting a dedicated bike lane...so win win two videos.
I have been using this route for over 45 years. The costs are very high. The Pickering station has problems. Pot smokers, alcohol consumption, hide out for drug dealers and an echo chamber for modified vehicle tune goons.
Didn't watch the entire video (so pardon me if you acknowledged this, and yeah I know the train was pretty empty), but the upper floor of GO trains are supposed to be quiet zones, you're supposed to be respectful to other riders and not be talking.
The quiet zones are only between 6-10am and 3-7pm. Further "quiet conversations" are allowed as per the posted rules. I was talking quietly enough that I had to boost the audio on the train. Given that I was respectful of the posted rules, I'm not sure what your point is?
The last time I was on the go to Pickering was in 2018. Next year (2023) I can't wait
This video just appeared out of nowhere in my feed and I love it ❤️ what a different time
I don't know why, but just love the platforms and that whole area inside Union station.
Union station looked nice, but was expecting more from the other stops similar to the new "station/stops" on the Eglinton Cross town.
Hi Johnny liked the Pickering bound GO train video, great content as usual. C.J.H.
Glad you enjoyed it!

Haven't been on a GO train since 1987 when my dad and sister took a ride for fun to Pickering.
cool I cant wait to come to Toronto to go on a go train ride!
Thank you..there is something quaint about the narrow and shallow platforms at the station, and the lack of electrification.

Cool. Love this video. Show the casino in Pickering.
The Pickering Go Station has a really nice bridge glad you enjoyed it!, hopefully you’ll do one on Oshawa in the future!
As someone in Pickering I quite like the lit up bridge, it's become something of a symbol of Pickering.

Clean and Great quality!
Two more stops would have brought you to my town.
Almost...
why don't all the doors open at the Pickering go station? How do we know which door to get off at?
Great Ride 👍
Thanks 👍
Lovely!
Very nice looking station. Have you taken the VIA? I was looking it up and you can ride it coast to coast.
I have but only from Toronto to Ottawa. Cheers
@@JohnnyStrides I did see you said that later in the vid. I would love to try the coast to coast trip.
Nice

@@JohnnyStrides I stand corrected. I only travel occasionally and only at rush hour, so I was not aware.
