There is a screen that will show you what creatures eat. It's in the same pages as your hunting log, but called Hunting Gallery, I think. Creatures you've killed will show up in there and give you info on what they eat and some other things. No need to test every food you own.

How do you get a higher lvl? They always pop out at LVL 1-5
