I remember my first season, I flipped about 13 times. The majority of which were at the dock!!! Haha. My coach found it hilarious that I could row feet out, on the square, in crazy wake, but get me back to the dock and ploopf! 🤣
TRAMPOLINE!!!! I trained with an ex-Olympian in university and OMG it is SO fun! I went to uni 10 years late and didn't start this until year 2 or 3 so I was already 30 when I first tried to learn and there are so many tricks you can learn quickly and easily but it looks so impressive because you get so much air doing them on an Olympic style trampoline.
My husband and myself went kayaking in Hawaii and were asked do you want a double or 2 singles for kayaks. She even warned us that double kayak can cause divorce and we still did it. Both agree that we will never do that again - marriage survived but we should have listened. This made me flash back to our memory.
We have a single and a double kayak. Usually I get one and my husband and daughter get the double. After years of different combos, my daughter likes rowing with her dad more. Apparently I suck at being the back person. Plus she can rest more with her dad in the boat.
Things I would recommend you try---skydiving, scuba diving, paintball, bungee jumping, kayaking on rapids or touch football with other couples. It would be fun to watch you two try any of those!
I remember as a part of my college crew team we rowed a heat against a boat full of former olympians. They called their boat “lookout” and they soon left all of us in the dust.
Sailing is one of those sports you both should definitely try. Sailing is perfect for couples or the whole family. We live out in NC and would love to have you come and sail with us! We also have rowing but I think you got a good taste of it. : )
I have been in a shell on the Potomac. Even after being trained, it was NOT pretty. But I'd be out there on a summer morning, watching commuters trapped in cars not moving on the bridges and - yes _ I would gloat. I'm glad you tried it.
My husband and teenage son are recreational rowers, the boats are wider and more stable than what you used. I refuse to let my husband teach me how to row because that’s just a short cut to divorce court. I also refused to buy a two seat rowing shell because that means I’d have to go with him. You did well for your first time! Recreational rowing is a great sport.
@@Sallabank Cool- thanks. Guess I've never really thought about how wide a double is. I've rowed a double a few times, but this season raced in 8s and quads so spent my time in those. The singles are just teeny tiny (I've only been in a rec single at this point.)
Thank you for these! Please do more, but not ones that risk major injury! People have made good suggestions already ie curling, kayaking, shooting, archery, fencing, table tennis... Or how about badminton? (I didn't even know that was an Olympic sport 🤦).
My recomendation is to try gymnastics (ex: handstands and cartwheels on a trampoline or a front handspring using the training wheel thing that I don't know the name of. Or a high bar over a foam pit. You could also try a mini triathlon (100 ft or so of each?)
I let a newsman row one of our boats and got in deep trouble-they are very expensive. If you step into the hull which is 3/8" thick, you can put a hole in the hull, oars cost $100 or more back in 1970.
We definitely need to see Kim performing her gymnastics Floor routine! Kim and Lola could demonstrate their skills working together in Synchronized Swimming. The whole family could get involved in Table Tennis (or Penn, Kim, and their neighbors). Finally, Penn and Kim could compete against each other in Racewalking.
Breaststroke or a relay. Especially since the guys just took home the 15th gold medal for the 4x100 medley relay for the US. Dressage would also be fun to try.
“WE WROTE A MARRIAGE BOOK!” Best line ever
I love PC’s comment: “I can’t promise that”
(Not to laugh at mom and dad) LOL
Olympic athletes DO flip still, even happened yesterday in Tokyo in a double. Y'all did great!
As a high school rower, I found this hilarious.
Although yes, she was right. EVERYONE flips in a boat.
I remember my first season, I flipped about 13 times. The majority of which were at the dock!!! Haha. My coach found it hilarious that I could row feet out, on the square, in crazy wake, but get me back to the dock and ploopf! 🤣
Never flipped but caught so many crabs in eights starting out.
The first time I was in a single, I fliped 3 times and caught too many crabs to count.
Super fun to watch, laughed by butt off. Couples therapy for sure. You guys rock, gold medal for sure, for not drowning 🤗🎉
Next, you can try gymnastics, diving, and equestrian. 😳😂
I think pen already did gymnastics like 5 years ago
@@Fre3r Equestrian might be funny, then.
@@evershade.after.dark.I was looking for this comment penn doing show jumping would be hilarious
@@GalaxyVaporeon It absolutely would! 😂

So proud of you for trying all of this fantastic stuff the rest of us can’t. 👏🏻

“I can’t promise that.” I died Laughing
If there was a sport in NOT drowning... Gold medal.
YES 👍🏻
Superman - Kryptonite
Achilles - His Heal
Kim and Penn - Rowing
You guys must have the strongest marriage!
My cousin was on the row team for our high school. I didn't realize it was this hard🤣 I now have a new respect for the sport😆
You guys are so funny and make me laugh every time!
Rhythmic Gymnastics 🤸♀️
My kids asked why I was laughing so hard.
Y’all make me so happy. Thank you so much 😊
One of the rowers literally flipped their boat last night during a semi-final race.
These are fantastic please do more! 😂
I would love to see more! This is giving us all the realistic comparison of the average Joe vs Olympians. 🤣👏🥇
I have the same shirt as Penn Charles. ❤ Love this so much! And very happy the marriage survived!!!
“I think we’re done” - yeah, I would be too 🤣
Things I would recommend you try---skydiving, scuba diving, paintball, bungee jumping, kayaking on rapids or touch football with other couples. It would be fun to watch you two try any of those!
Did you see Kim’s bungee jump on Amazing Race? Talk about starting at the deep end!!
😂😂😂 I guess like most sports it’s harder than it looks...Loved your POSITIVE coach!!! Awesome!😝👍🎉
I remember as a part of my college crew team we rowed a heat against a boat full of former olympians. They called their boat “lookout” and they soon left all of us in the dust.
Synchronized swimming would be a good one to add to your next book.
That was amazing! I vote archery next.
A gymnastics one would be greatly appreciated, lol!
I really like this series

I have one request and Please, Please do this, Olympic sailing!
Track and field! Great job by the way, that boat is skinny!! 😱😱😂
I want to see you two ball room dancing lol 😂
I have the same shirt as Penn lol 😆
Doing better than I could! Lolz!
I know how to swim, but I still panicked for you guys when you flipped into the water!
🤣 that’s like every day logic for me Kim “how does physics work with the mom butt” ev👏🏻er👏🏻y👏🏻day👏🏻
Great video... We sail on that lake most weekends, there is always someone out there rowing.
😂😆🤣😂🤣
Love you both!
Nice work! Better than I could do, for sure. You should try javelin throws!
The Olympians are so kind to Kim and Penn. Kim is more coordinated than Penn. He’s a little bit of a hot mess. Go mom butt!!! 😁
Does anyone know where this was filmed? I know their from North Carolina but have no clue where this is.
@ Ryan Pavliga I think they live in Raleigh North Carolina. I have family in Cornelius North Carolina on Lake Norman
Archery
When the green part of the oar kept on moving away from the oarlock😤
That was hilarious 😂
I know you did vault and floor in 2016… I’d love to see you on a balance beam 😂
LMAO THATS LITERALLY OUR CLUB AND COACH SCHAFFER IVE LITERALLY FLOATED RIGHT INTO THAT OTHER DOCK WHILE SHE FURIOUSLY TOLD ME TO BACK
Watched this on your FB and IG; you guys should try all the Olympic sports in my opinion. That would be fun content! ❤
🤣😂🤣😂🤣 we wrote a marriage book!
Love those !!!!

Is that not a rec shell? It looked wide to me, at least compared to a single racing shell.
@@Jessica-dn6fx The one in the video is racing size, a single is just that much smaller because of one person

Penn: High jump and hurdles.
Kim: Judo
Penn & Kim: Trampoline Gymnastics
Lola & Penn Charles: Fencing
I’m pretty sure the uneven bars should be next…. 🤣🤣🤣
Diving! Please I want to see Penn dive - 3m springboard, 3m Platform and as high as he can go - safely of course!
I love how he apologized to PC after cursing ☺
Awesome effort. You are role models. Try pole vaulting next.
How about synchronized swimming, synchronized diving, sports climbing and skateboarding? Thank you for the great videos! 🙏
I was on a rowing team. I NEVER saw a boat go over in the water!
Track and field events. Javelin, long jump…..
pole vault ;-)
Shot put
Penn looks SO NERVOUS with every stroke. Poor guy!
Penn should do trampoline or handball.
Is trampoline an event?
@@jenniferellsworth1226 Yes. I googled it.
@@Awesome_halo Wow! Who knew?
I'm even more impressed that my daughter rowed club crew in college on that lake. Rowers make it look so easy.
Should try 10m air riffle or skeet and see how well you can see the target
This video was great as a person who just started rowing this summer it definatly can be hard at first.
Track and field
Thank you for these!

you have to pole vault!
Penn Charles is my favourite part of this channel
Sport Climbing!
In Kayaking, Tandem Kayaks are called Divorce Yaks. Not the same sport, but same ideas.
Something simpler. How about a 200 meter dash.
I like your thinking.
i love penn vs the olympics my favorite
FENCING!!!!
Respect! I have always wanted to do that. I think you guys can actually row. A few more times in the boat, and I bet you would be awesome.
You did better than I would.
PLEASE DO SKATEBOARDING! 🤩
Rock Climbing Olympics!! I was a rock climber when I was in 4th through 7th grade. Then I quit to get my black belt in tang soo do
It looks like this was filmed at LAKE WHEELER !
Was it? 👍👍
Run Hurdles! Long jump!

I vote for you to visit the Greensboro Aquatic Center for platform diving or IS Whitewater Rafting Center in Charlotte. 👍🏻
That was great! I think you should try water polo next
Swimming!
Was this filmed at Jordan Lake?
No better couple's therapy than trying to row together......
You should try artistic swimming! It's nuts how skilled they have to be.

My sister rows with a former Olympic team up in Washington. She swears it's the best. This doesn't look like it's the best

Try balance beam, but for safety....really really really low to the ground. Or Archery...
Hello. Have a safe blessed day! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Awesome
I think fencing would be my choice for Penn next. Epee seems perfect for him 😉 🤺
So the Olympians were only each using 1 oar. I think ya would have killed it if you had only used 1 oar. ROCK ON!!!
Please do curling. I always wonder about that one...
