About us:
After meeting in New Zealand back in 2017, Beth and Jake have travelled the world, working online and creating memories.
Beth left the UK in 2014 and has been travelling full time ever since, she is the owner of www.sheisthelostgirl.com and has a passion for writing and photography.
Jake has been travelling since 2016 and during this time has perfected his photography and videography skills. He is adventurous and has a passion for the outdoors.
Having lived in various countries around the world, we decided that instead of settling down, we'd build a tiny home inside a van.
We've never done anything like this before, we have no building experience, no electrical experience, and no plumbing experience.
This is a huge learning curve for us and we welcome you to join us in this challenge.
Our Wild Horizons documents a journey of continued adventure.

We went there in December, a lot of snow on the ground and much of it closed off. We took the free solar powered ferry around the lake then walked back. Not much water over the falls but a great day out. The drive from Zagreb was interesting as well.
Ooh that sounds wonderful, we saw some pictures where the waterfalls were all frozen and it looked incredible!
Great job guys. Thank for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Wow the waterfalls look beautiful ❤ it looks like a pardice ❤❤❤❤
Beautiful vlog ☺️
Beautiful natural park❤
Wow it’s beautiful the one it’s free ❤
Such a beautiful vlog ☺️♥️♥️
It was a wonderful place! We’re back on UA-cam today with a new video all about Cappadocia! Thanks for the continued support Michael 😌😃🥹
Love the gentle music in background
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it!
Heading over end of Oct. Lakes on our list. Thanx for Sharing.
Imagine how magical it must have looked like for the first human to see it with deer in the shallow waters and everything just beautiful and wild..?
Guys, great video! Tgank you for sharing it, it's really helpful!
What other hiking trails would you suggest in Croatia? We're here for a couple of months and looking into hiking as much as possible!
Great job, keep it up!
We were only in the country for a week so didn’t manage a whole lot of hiking, so no more recommendations unfortunately. Krk island was great though!
Been there 7 years ago!
Very beautiful!!!
How lovely! I bet it was a little quieter then too! 😊
Oh, this brings back memories. I feel like I had missed so much seeing this!!
I wonder if this has changed since the 9 years or so I went!
Ooh it’s probably the exact same, they’ve done a good job with not building too many paths and keeping it mostly natural!
Yes you should visit it again it has some changes but again beutifull
Wow, it definitely is not worth visiting it in summer, by the looks of it! We went in winter, it was around £10pp, it was very quiet and it looked stunning covered in ice and snow! Also, nearby Plitvice is a town Rastoke, which is built over several waterfalls. It's a shame you missed it!
That would be beautiful in winter! We did see Rastoke, a lovely place and we swam in the river there. Just didn’t make a video for it 😊
@@OurWildHorizons Yea Rastoke are really nice
Of course its worht visiting during the summer. One visit to London Eye costs more 😂
Very well filmed you captured the essence of the park really well. £40 I agree would have been fare price it's to expensive for me.
But your in a beautiful country try and stay as long as you can there it's really nice and so many Islands .
Thank you, we’ve been loving our time here and have enjoyed Croatia more than we thought we would! The beaches are amazing so far!
Really well done, guys. It was a much fuller view of the Park than I have seen in other videos. We will be there in late September or early October. Many thanks. Entrance two it is.
Hope you have a great trip, should be a decent time to visit in October!
Cant believe the colour of the water. What a special place.
It was truly beautiful!
I didn't see the waterfalls, the ticket costs too much rn, but I've been all around the park in the woods.. it's still amazing lakes canals small waterfalls animals abandoned houses
Ah that sounds brilliant too! We heard they're wonderful to explore and you can even come across bears quite regularly?
Remebering as Kid with my Family we loved the time there swimming and playing in the water. Good old times!
Wow, must’ve changed a fair bit since then! There’s another one which they just closed for swimming too, krkr or something!
@@OurWildHorizons 1980 was a while ago 😁
^ I love your vids! So, idk if you remember but when you did Route C was it mostly walking down steps? And, if there was any steps going up on the route( besides the optional cave steps lol) were they difficult? I'm traveling with my parents who are a bit older and one who's knee acts up so i was just wondering. At 6:07 it seems like the longest steps up but not steep. Also, IF you remember( because i know its hard to remember everything from a trip) was it a long time between the entrance and the boat ride, and then after the boat ride was it a long time to the snack area. I worry about needing a bathroom hahaha, but i guess i can just skip drinking alot of water that day.
The majority of it is flat with a few stair detours which you don't have to take. Plus you can save the boat ride and bus ticket to use when you're most tired. We took the bus back nearly the length of the park. Lots of stopping points and toilets in between though so I think everyone would be ok!
@@OurWildHorizons oh gotcha! Thank you! That is helpful to know🙂
This video is amazing-very well put together. Love the background music. It suits this particular video so well. The view is stunning😍. I am going to Zadar this Sunday and thinking about booking a day trip to this national Park since I don't drive. Would you recommend buying the park entry ticket online beforehand? I don't think I would want to queue to get the ticket 😂😂😂..thanks so much:)
Ah sorry! You must have already been by now, how was it? I hope you enjoyed it :)
@@OurWildHorizons Yes I managed to visit Plitvice Lakes. It was very nice. I entered the park at 12 so was expecting it to be very busy 🤣🤣🤣
Where can I find the pace you talk about at min 7. And the coordinates
Hi guys we visited Plitvice 2nd October and it was price drop weekend so we paid 20 pounds for two tickets which I think is a great price. 70 we think is too much to be honest. We got to entrance two at 8am and it was fairly quiet until around 11 when all the tours arrived. We did route H which was a 4-6 hour walk and by the time we reached the tall waterfall at 2.30 ish the crowds were too much so we headed back to our campsite. Overall we enjoyed our day in the park but more so with the discounted tickets we purchased. Loved the video guys and happy travels.
No way! What a difference a few months makes. Glad you managed to enjoy it a lot more than we did, we’d love to return off season without so many people to watch out for!
Great video guys. I love seeing people like you discovering this planet and sharing your insights. I do really dissagree with including entree price into categorization of an natural beuty.
It would be like rating the Rembrandt's "Night watch" low because museum ticket is not cheap.
Beautiful. You find the most spectacular places. Here in the U.S. there is almost always public land outside the National Parks with the same terrain, for low or no cost. And no crowds!
Ah yes, I’ve seen some videos of places in the states and it looks incredible! Hopefully we’ll be there one day on a big grand tour!
What month did you visit?
Hi many thanks ! I was planning to visit this parc in the summer but I am now more reluctant ! It seems very crowded :/
Unfortunately, it will be completely over crowded and in our opinion it "ruins" the experience. I know that the tours and buses are mostly between 10-3 but it's still a hassle rushing everything before the crowds. Depending on the closing times I'd recommend going around 3/4 and staying as the crowds dwindle.
@@OurWildHorizons many thanks again ! ☺ I will follow your advice 💐
Wow it did look very beautiful. I love the "slaps"🤣 not sure if I'd have paid £80 though but I guess when you're walking in amongst all the plants you get a more intimate feel for the place. Did they have a cafe there? X
Much too expensive really! There were a few cafes but after the entry fee we avoided them like the plague 😂
I guess 80 is for 2 persons?
Straight to entrance 2 did you say ? I’ll do that ! I will be staying for a week locally few kilometres up the road by river Korana and will exploring entire are on the mountain bike
Yes, that's the best option we think!
Lovely tips, thanks so much for the video. I have a question---did you pay 80 pounds per head to enter the park, or was it for transport? Can you provide the break up of tour fee, entry fee and parking fee?
That was the total cost of our entrance and parking all together. We drove ourselves there so we don’t know about the tour prices that you can get from the major towns unfortunately!
You pay that sort of money to enter a lookout tower un Australia. 60 Australuan dollars or 45 usd is not alot for a place you can spend 8 hours or so on the longer trails . If you took the 4 hour trail ypu missed alot of the park by the sounds of it
Do you have the adres of the car park from the vieuw at the end of the video?
No, but it's on google maps and lots of blog posts tell you how to find and get to it :)
Did you walk much? I will be 4, 5 months pregnant if we decide to go, so i'd be curious how hard it would be for me
Yes, we walked for a couple of hours but there are lots of resting points, it's mostly flat terrain and you can always take the bus or boat if/when you get too tired :)
You can walk as much as you want.
We walked 21 km because we walked through the forest and entered though an unofficial place.
But you can see the most famous area from a point of view literally 100m from entrance 1, or from the point of view where they went in the end of the video, without even paying entrance.
6:43 can you tell if this place is accessible without your own car?
It won’t be on any of the bus routes. There are some steps by the big slap but they’ve been closed off so unless you go under the barrier I don’t think you’ll get to see it
@@OurWildHorizons Thanks for your reply ❤️❤️
£40 entrance during summer is too much.
We agree! And they still have too many tickets available each day!
Where is the free place when I can look?
44o54’09.0”N 15o36’27.0”E
hahaha...just a 'small slap today '
That was a good line wasn’t it 😅
It's amazing people actually pay to see nature🙄 I've found amazing places all over croatia for free, and no one is there, heaven.
Yes, we spent 3 weeks in Croatia loving all the free places but since everyone and all the blog posts say this is a must see, we decided to pay for an attraction.
Can you name best places to see and visit?
Plitvice su najljepši nacionalni park, ne samo u Evropi, nego na svijetu 😍
Can’t deny that it is good, but I personally prefer the mountains!
tourists hating other tourists, how egoistic is that. go to Sahara next time.
As you can see from the video, it was more about “whether it’s worth going”. So the point of the video is showing the national park in it’s true light. We know we are part of the problem. Here on our UA-cam channel we keep things real by showing places how they really are!
Thanks for watching :)
to be honest, it is not worth the entrance money at all, way too high priced. and it is really not that special. there are far better places of natural beauty
We agree!
