It is amazing how just a couple things really made such a huge difference on the truck. It needed a little bigger tire and the roof rack is kind of icing on the cake.
BlueDually4x4 Agreed, the roof rack really started the make-over on this truck. I got the rack for another project and it didn’t fit. It’s been sitting in the shop and it finally dawned on me to put it on the Dynahead. Few other parts later and a fun mini project was complete... for now.
Bob Raven The Dynahead was fun when I first reviewed it, but after making a few changes and watching Truck Trials videos to see how the real vehicles perform, this quick project turned into a really good time!
Nice to see a new video on the Dynahead! I definitely have a lot of fun with mine. I use 4.19 tires that work pretty well with 4 wheel steering, as well as some oil filled shocks that add more suspension travel.
This video inspired me to get one of these. Not sure what route I want to go as far as the build goes, but I may just have to copy this, it looks that good. Great video
omg, most awsome vehicle yet, film this in slow-mo, it would look phenomenal . and maybe a couple more things in the bed and rack, ( that rack on that truck, wow ). and a narrow front bumper with a winch. that thing would jaw drop.
Your "parts lying around the shop" are nicer than most the stuff I own and have installed in my crawlers. Lol great work. It looks and performs way better than stock. Gotta love this hobby.
Hi, I have the same Dynahead, 100% stock for the moment, the only thing I do is replacing the battery forwards. I'm waiting for the shocks and wheels. Increas the shock travell, the grip and put some weight on the wheels. Do you think a good motor like the crawlmaster would be interesting? I got the 4ws but maybe I should get out to reduce the total weight and descent the gravity center.
Nice video. From a photography point of view, I'd like to know how some of the shots were created. For example, when the vehicle is traveling through the ditch and the camera is following along so smoothly. Do you have a separate camera person?
fantastic vid and car. would you consider changing the stock shocks to something with a softer spring or longer travel? would the barrel tamiya springs fit?
Why is it that you connect the red wire from the battery and not the black one? I see that often in reviews on here and other places as well 🤔 Thanks for sharing this great rig! ✌🏼😎👍🏼
sylvainster30 You’re not supposed to leave a battery connected when not in use. I connect just one side so it keeps the wires neat while I shoot the video.
sylvainster30 Yup, total removal and safe storage is the best route. The single wire thing is just a habit I picked up. I’ll build up and prep a car for photo or video purposes and sometimes not shoot the pics until a few days later, so it’s still prepped and wires looks presentable by the time I’m ready to work on it. And I don’t have to worry about any power drain on the packs.
The dynahead looks awesome with the upgrades, I would like to see the rear steering hooked up. By the way have you announced the winner of the RCmart esc giveaway?
That truck looks super cheap, is it worth anywhere near $300? The plastics look like they're made by Tyco. Is it just the video making the truck look cheap? Or is it as fragile as it looks. Originally when I saw the new rims and tires I figured the cost of the new treads would be double the cost of the entire truck. Needless to say I was very surprised when I saw the $300 price tag for something that looks like it should be purchased at Toys "R" Us. I think it definitely looks cool, the body as potential and of course the new wheels and tires make it look like a real vehicle adding some scale detail. But performance was it looked like a 3 out of 10

Dynahead's a fun build, the portals is a nice touch to this kit
Dude! This is awesome! I love the idea of taking a not so capable rig and seeing how much performance you can actually squeeze from it.
Bob Raven The Dynahead was fun when I first reviewed it, but after making a few changes and watching Truck Trials videos to see how the real vehicles perform, this quick project turned into a really good time!
@@rcdriver I have to pick up a Tamiya kit one day man. Always had my eye on the hornet or frog.
That dx5 rugged is the star here.
With only the few electronic and tire change that truck kicks -ss!
Nice 👍. Thanks for sharing

Brian Beck Nice, I think shocks and 4WS are next up on the to do list.
Just built mine but could not quite figure out which oil filled shocks are best. Which have you been using?
@@rcdriver 4WS would not work with the big tires though, there is not enough space between the middle and rear tires.
Looks and runs awesome in the snow.
Yes, looks great. I would certainly like to see more of this.
Love this truck, you did some of the mods I envisioned for it. Please continue modding it
This video inspired me to get one of these. Not sure what route I want to go as far as the build goes, but I may just have to copy this, it looks that good. Great video
Enjoy the build!
Very nice 6x6

I'm trying to get one of these soon and make it into a moon crawler type deal. This thing look so nice in the snow. Excellent video excellent upgrades
Looks great, but doesn't the roof basket make it really difficult to access the body clips?
are those 1.9 or 2.2?
Nice looking rig
Love your videos man! Keep em rolling!
Love the tires. I think this would look awesome with a 3d printed snow-blower on the front.
Next thing to do - tank tracks on the rear x4?
That’s a cool idea!
This is great stuff. I'd love to see more optimisation/customisation on your Dynahead.
Thats a cool body! Thatd make a sweet tow truck.
SNOWMOD RC Yessir!!
I never confirm with this transmission ha ha but its pretty impressive offroad.Body looks like a Russian Expedition Vehicle "Burlak" 6x6.

It would be cool to have an extended frame to get the front wheels out further to increase the wheel base.
3d print some cargo boxes for the bed with tie down net or straps 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
That’s a great rebuild. 👍🏽🐒🇺🇸
You need to check out the new tamiyas for 2020. They are bringing back the Terra scorcher.
Cool

Very cool, wish it was 1/10
Would have been nice to see you put four-wheel steering on it.
Greg take a wet paper towel and rub off the yellow dots on the tires! It's making my OCD go crazy lol 😁
Chris Watson LOL, after being a racer for so many years, I’ve grown to love the compound dots. 😆
@@rcdriver Haha!! Is that what they are? Compound dots? Always learning from you Greg!
Chris Watson Yup! Manufacturers typically have a chart on their website so you can match up the color to the rubber compound type. Happy to help!!
Nice jams! Who is it?
fantastic vid and car. would you consider changing the stock shocks to something with a softer spring or longer travel? would the barrel tamiya springs fit?
that_radio_control_guy Yes, a shock swap is in the rigs future. Going to dig into my stuff to see what will fit best.
Where can I buy this tire?
Where can I buy things on the roof?
Wii the tamiya dynahead body fit on king yellow thanks
just so much better than stock 👍
The roof rack is really nice but heavy. I have it on my lunchbox.
Chris Staley It is a bit heavy... but does look cool 😀
Where can I buy it?
1st comment from me. That’s looking sick 👍👍

Ok Thanks i always take out my batteries and leave the car empty, i do the same with nitro cars and trucks no batteries stay inside ✌🏼😎👍🏼

You should have made it 4ws.

mitymike 1996 Not yet, Giveaway ends when the video hits 10k views or 2 months from the original post date.
@@rcdriver cool I thought I missed it
The dynas are cool, but the limited suspension travel really limits them. Literally. Limits. Them. Literally.
Is this the same chassis as the school bus?
I've been wanting to get one soon, and with some of these changes it would be awesome
Flying Fortress RC Same chassis. The big change is they replaced the carriers with portal boxes.
I agree with Stevo...the portal are a big plus.
Just personal preference...I think the smaller TSL's would look better.
Did you putty-lock the diffs?
Tom Lucas Yes, the diffs are putty-locked.
You should have made it with oil filled dampers.
So if you want 6x6 crawler buy dynahead great upgrades ..how bout truck body flat bed !!!
anything rc That would be cool.
#201.... 💯🖒NC MOUNTAINS back yard RC.AND MORE. 🏞
These need a helipad for your air rcs
Think 1/18 way too small
I keep telling myself I don't need one of these....you're not helping! I'm sure I'll end up with one.
Jon Nichols Who me? I’m just showing some cool RC stuff 😂
First comment!
Can I have a rc car I dont have one

You're new to the hobby, and don't know much about Tamiya. It's ok, we understand.
Good Performance but really ugly
