    Like this video if you've enjoyed it :)
    For this to work, the Charge 4 has to be in the so called LFM or "low frequency mode" which disables it's DSP filters thus allowing the lowest frequencies on the output. This can be achieved by pressing for 10 seconds the Pairing and Vol down buttons. Also I used heavily bass boosted songs to achieve the most excursion without too much upper frequencies.

      @mr79109189 5 років тому +1

      @@DaCracky Correct but that can be too much work for some people for speakers with a clean sound at higher dB levels without that digital clipping issue. It's hard to show people how with all the plug in and play stuff now thanks to Digital music. It requires precise measurement for the much needed adjustments because every system (AKA Box, Speaker, Wire length, etc) will be a little different and if it's wrong it will overheat something. This makes me feel old, thanks for the flashback.

    Understanding why the woofer is extending as much as it does is part of the equation. The amplifier can't dampen the speaker, a powerful amp would have held the woofer in place. It overshoots every throw simply because the amp doesn't have the power to stop it, effectively losing complete control.

    You should really put a crossover in between the charge and that subwoofer. It would respond much better. That subwoofer doesn’t want The full range of frequencies just the low range. Cut it at 200Hz and send everything else to a small tweeter, I bet it would actually bump and sound (subjectively) good.

    It is true that it makes the speaker "vibrate" well, what you do not know is that the amplifier is clearly in Clipping, the clipping happens when you mount a loudspeaker with a high wattage to an amplifier with a low wattage. Obviously the amplifier will always give the maximum because the speaker is able to hold many more watts of those that from the amplifier and distorts the sound. I had the same problem with an old 5.1 of the creative, because I had mounted a 1300watt sony xplod subwoofer, yes, it moved a lot, but the sound was not of good quality like that of your video.

    Sorry I dont believe it, 30 watts flexing that sub? Not happening. Notice he doesnt show the wires going straight out of the JBL going into the box, they are just randomly laying over the side of the box. And even when the subs not in the box do you notice how he doesnt show the jbl and the sub in the same picture with the wires. Not to mention the batteries in the jbl aren't even big enough to power that sub. I wonder how many people fell for this shit.

      You'd be surprised, I have a super cheap 15W amplifier (Based on the PAM8610) and it can really get speakers moving! It would probably get really hot, but I wouldn't be shocked if 30W could make this sub move that much.

    • @DS42O
      @DS42O 5 років тому

      @@LetsGetStarted yeah but besides the 15 watts, the battery in the JBL would drain so fast. because the sub would pull so much power out of them it's not possible. Switching class D amplifiers are extremley efficient compared to ordinary linear operated class A/B designs and thus a very powerful amplifier can fit inside a small box without any need for cooling fins (wich takes up a lot of space in an ordinary AB amplifier). The reason for this is as long a transistor is either fully on or fully off it dissapates very little energy as heat since its full on resistance is so low. This is also why a very similar device the VFD used to speed control 3 phase motors also always operate in switching mode wich give a speed controlled motor its familiar high pitch whining sound. In an amplifier however this switching must be much faster (in order of MHz sompared to kHZ in a VFD) so that the switching noise will not be heard as part of the audio. This eliminates the need of complicaded noise filters before the speaker and the speaker coil simply evens the square wave switch signal out to an even sine wave.

    Yeah, I once connected the internals of the jbl go to a 4 inch full range. It seemed to work fine, nothing seemed to be blowing up.
    Edit: this’ll usually work, because larger, more expensive drivers are designed to be of a higher quality and to have a higher and less resistive excursion. So, really, this will work with most combos, but in some cases the low resistance may create a too large current draw and might blow up the amp. Might want to be a bit careful with that.

      the kenwood sub is out of a car and likely 4ohms whereas the standard speaker is most likely 8ohms meaning the sub is attempting to draw more than the amp can put out normally. meaning it could potentially overheat.

    • @sethh8892
      @sethh8892 5 років тому

      @@axeami1354 you would have more of a problem hurting that subwoofer than you would the amplifier. The only thing you're going to do to the amplifier is put it into protect mode. It's a Fail-Safe that happens whenever the amplifier notices way too much clipping, (NOT EVER AMP), or notices that it will overheat. And while clipping is a problem due to pulling more power than given, with the little time that he played it, I doubt it will hurt it. I pushed amplifiers to their limits on purpose to see what they can do, and I can say for sure, that little bit of pressure that you're applying to that crappy little amplifier is not going to do anything. And you cannot say for sure whether the amplifier is rated at 4 or 8 ohms. Besides most car audio subs are rated at 2 ohms. It's usually the lower-end ones that are higher in ohms, and generally have a higher fs.

Almost any amp can but for this amount of excusion it probably had a car amp connected to the charge using the speaker level input. Very easy way to trick people as they can see the charge making noises and beeing used.
