that was smart for the Cardinals manager to bench 3 starters(winn, gorman, herrera.) That philosophy of benching 3 starters every 3rd game of a series is why the Cardinals are 1-13 in close out games. Worst manager in MLB and it's not close.

I was at this game yesterday. The guy in the hat who got the Devers home run threw it back in and got escorted out by security IMMEDIATELY. Since when is that an ejectable offense? I was super pissed for that guy. They tossed another dude for heckling Robertson while he was warming up. It was really mild even. It was ridiculous.

It's one thing to drop the final game of the series after dominating the first two, but it's completely another thing to not show up for the last game. And the DeWitts want public money to upgrade the stadium and Ballpark Village. Don't be fooled by a series win here and there. This is still a very bad team.
The Cardinals completely ruined Matthew Liberatore. Might as well trade him away for a couple cheese burgers so the team getting him can turn him into an Cy-young/MVP candidate like everyone else we fail to develop.
The Cardinals have a clear pattern of trading away struggling players, sometimes years of struggle only to watch them immediately turn it around and make big impacts on their new team.
This pattern has been going on for years at this point. It’s clear that the player development department for the Cardinals is completely broken. From my understanding from an individual know who’s worked for the Cardinals for a number of years now, they have a “my way or highway” attitude.
The Cardinals are adamant with “most” players especially younger players that they do it exactly the way their told, if they are being told to pitch or hit a certain way or change up their stance, add/remove a leg kick etc. that’s the way they are expected to play regardless of what they used to do that GOT them to the team in the first place. If they aren’t succeeding than it’s their fault not the fault of the people running that department who are trying to fix what isn’t broken.
Ozuna is a clear example of this, they made tweaks to his approach at the plate which greatly reduces effectiveness but instead of letting him go back to what worked for him they continued to pressure him into doing it their way and not whatever why worked best for him.
They have a very bad one size fits all approach and needless to say that’s not how human beings work. That’s not going to be effective, you have to tailor your approach based of the individual and what their strengths are. When Ozuna went to the Braves they allowed him to go back to what worked best for him and the results speak for themselves. He’s been one of the best hitters in baseball.
The entire coaching, drafting, player development etc. are all broken and it’s because of John Mozeliak and the Dewitts refusal to “get with the times” and also their refusal to acknowledge that the issue is a direct result of their poor decision making.

Please Mozeliak. Get rid of Matz and Liberatore.
The team takes the day off when they pitch, no matter who is in the lineup. They know we don't have any chance to win when either of those two start a game.
