The songs "Chase Me", "Good Night", "Fly High", "You and I", "What", and "Piri" are a series and are all connected, there is also an alternative ending to the series that's a Japanese song called "Breaking Out" (Thank you to Tranitosaur) The songs "Scream", "Boca, and "Odd Eye" are a trilogy about cyberbullying and the songs "Maison", "Vision", and "BonVoyage" are a trilogy about climate change and other things that affect the environment like war. Other songs to listen to that I personally love are "Rising" from their "VillainS" EP, aswell as Deja Vu, a single that they released for a game and finally BEcause from their "Summer Holiday" EP.

I think this album delivered a lot of what fans have been asking for: A full intro song, longer Dami rap, and more harmonies. You should check out the 1theK DancEar performance of Justice which has pure raw vocals and dancing with spatial audio. Also it has Siyeon in it before she went on hiatus. I've seen others react to it so it doesn't seem like there is any copyright issues with it.
Handong and SuA stepping in to fill Siyeon's vocal lines is amazing. You have a "sub" (which we all know DC has no Sub anything) vocalist and the MAIN dancer (not even officially considered part of the Vocal line), and they are KILLING IT! ❤❤ Sending best wishes to our Wolfie ❤

Love this comeback so much! Its very quickly become one of my favorite titles and albums. All the songs are gorgeous and the vocal experimentation we saw in Villains has been expanded on and taken even further with Virtuous.
On all the live performances of Justice for this comeback, it is amazing how well Handong and Sua covered Siyeon's parts. You can tell it threw off the choreography of the song in showcase. The Villains versus Virtuous is a two part series. It is done.
Hurray for new camera! Phenomenal album! Fireflies is stunning and now my favourite ballad by DC. And "2 Rings" is one of my favourite performances! I added all songs to my "DC favourites" playlist! ♥
2 Rings is about riding a motorcycle... the "2 rings" being the wheels of the motorcycle.. I know people are confused with the "deeper" lyric, but I interpret it as the thrill/adrenaline and danger of riding a motorcycle at high speeds is sinking deeper into them.

I only thingbi ever have issues with is when people try to push/project sexual orientation or ideals on idols. Kpop as a industry is infamous for using "queerbaiting" as a marketing tactic.

it's very difficult for me to choose my favorite title track dreamcather song. As title tracks , i really love all of it . But i can say i always suprise how they keep going better and better everytime. İf i have to say favorite song , it will be always "reason" for me . Cuz its speacial between them and us.
Reason is the best, the emotion, the MV, their hight note, the lyric, SuA and Gahyeon rap with Dami, the memories, definitely masterpiece from Dreamcatcher to insomnias
- Justice: One of their best title tracks in my opinion, the high notes are great and all, but the guitar synth thingy going off on the background scratches my brain in juuuust the right spot, I can never get enough of it!!!! - Stomp: For the hundredth time they've managed to make something that is very them but also sounding really different, the mystical wondrous vibe in the prechorus is unmatched!! love this song, we're moving the planet out of its orbit with this one!!!! - 2 rings: This and stomp are competing for my number one spot on this album but 2 rings edges out the fight just a little bit, the country rock sound fits them so very perfectly, and the touch of blues they added to this track just ascends me, I really hope one day they make a full on blues rock song, or even better, a soulful bluesy trap song! - Fireflies: Listen, I'm a certified ballad hater but man, in all of kpop this is one of the least offensive ones I've heard so far, they are leveraging my obsession with harmonies it's not fair!!! 🙁 one of their best mini-albums for sure, honestly arguably their best imo, I was a little bit underwhelmed with VillainS but I'm soooooo happy with this one
There's a trick to listening to VillainS, though; if you have been a fan of Dreamcatcher for a while, I am a little surprised you did not catch on. We know how GREAT DC is, right? We know that they SHOULD be at the top of the Korean Music market because they are quite literally World-Class at what they do; it's just that they go un-recognized for it in their own country. And because we do know just how awesome they really are, VillainS seemed like a let-down. BUT, you need to remember what DC has been doing with those last two Trilogies, how they usee their platform for good causes. They are bringing awareness about problems with society, world-wide stuff that should not be happening, stuff that REALLY needs to change. So, VillainS is a SARCASTIC album. They are MOCKING the Entertainment Industry for being okay with shady people. There are 'influencers' who keep talking kids into doing really dumb stuff (swallowing Tide Pods, drinking-and-driving, all of those REALLY DUMB 'challenges', dares and 'pranks' that get people hurt...). The group (and the company, really) was basically calling out all this B.S. on the part of the 'influencers'. That is even why the music itself seemed a bit 'off' for VillainS and that's why the lyrics went like they did... In what world would our sweet-hearted Sunshiny-Personality Charisma Rabbit Leader JiU EVER actually WANT anybody to call her a Goddess? She got EMBARRASSED when she found out that she had been voted The Most Beautiful K-Pop Idol, ALL THREE TIMES it happened (back-to-back-to-back, by the way; 2021, '22 and '23 so far and I would not be surprised if she gets it again this year...)! She's not about getting people to look at her as Deific if she can't even handle the thought that she is one of the most good-looking people in Korea! That's not the kind of person she is, we already know this. SuA would never tell anybody to shut up and quit asking questions. That's not who she is. Same with Gahyeon. And Gahyeon would never treat life like a game. Dami can't drink Alcohol, she's basically allergic; her hangovers last multiple days! So, she does not drink. Some of her rap lines in 'OOTD' included 'driving down the highway drunken every day. Tell me, do you feel like a monster?' That first part is not something she would EVER say is okay to do so to drive that point home, she added the second part. Han Dong's lines also would not apply to her because she is conservative and an introvert: 'Popping the champagne, look at my necklace, wearing my black dress; cruising my rollie, cash in the backseat, we call it so sweet, so sweet'. That's just NOT like her at all, not to mention getting into a fight with Yoohyeon. That entire album is sarcastic from top to bottom, EVERYTHING about it including the music itself. Instruments crammed together, overlapping unpleasantly or just plain sloppy (as if the musicians are drunk or high while performing...). That was all done on purpose because 'bad guys (or bad girls)' don't care. They are just out to make money and forget everybody else. Modern-day VillainS.

VirtuouS is the final part of VersuS Duology. For their next Lore, they might go deep into Parallel World, DeukaeVerse...something like Dreamcatcher's very own Multiverse...if you look closely at the end of JUSTICE MV..there's an 8th person standing behind them, with an outfit that almost similar to Dark JiU & Dark Yoohyeon in Deja Vu...if it is the same character from Deja Vu, then the Parallel World/ DeukaeVerse/ Multiverse might be exist in Dreamcatcher's Lore & we might have a chance to see them go back to their previous Universe like Dystopia, Nightmare, Apocalypse, BEcause, R.o.S.E Blue and etc.
They did say in their reaction video that the 8th person was their assistant though. I figure they meant that it was Sasha coming back since the crown has been vanquished.
Thank you for a fun reaction :D feels like it's been a while. Partially because I'm almost a month late, oops. I hope you missed my long, rambly comments lol. (And also thank you for bringing back "Dystopia: Lose My Shit," because yeah. Still accurate tbh.) "JUSTICE" definitely has me in a chokehold lmao. I think it's at least tied with "VISION," which was my previous favorite. I think there definitely is something with the idea of them going back to their roots with "JUSTICE." Yoohyeon even specifically said that the shot of her biting the apple reminded her of SuA's line about biting a red apple in "Chase Me," and the burning tree reminds everyone of Dystopia...plus, there have been rumors that this video is confirmation of a Dreamcatcher Multiverse, so it's possible that the eighth person might be one of them from one of their other MVs, even though she's going by a different name. (My father got tickets to see DC in December and didn't invite me >:[ To be fair, he didn't invite me because we live in different countries, but I'm still very, very jealous. They haven't come to my country in a very long time...I'm going to have to try and get tickets to see them in Korea, next time they have a show there, I suppose, since that's probably the closest they'll get.) There's no replacing OT7 Dreamcatcher, but it is really impressive how the song doesn't feel _worse_ with the _main vocal_ missing. Like they did so well. We stan talent and we stan professionals. The slash through the "O" in "STΦMP!" is actually the Greek letter "phi," which refers to a bunch of stuff, but one of the common usages in mathematics is representing the golden ratio. Also, you're definitely not the first person to say that "STΦMP!" sounds like a LoL track lmao. I feel like this whole album--and _VillainS,_ tbh--is just full of hype songs, and I'm kind of into it. I do prefer _VirtouS_ overall, though. We've heard that _VillainS_ and _VirtuouS_ are a duology, so we may not be getting a third part...sadly, because I'm super into where they're going here. According to Gahyun (who has officially changed her name spelling btw!), "2 Rings" was the alternate title track candidate for this album. Personally, I think they made the right choice sticking with "JUSTICE" as the title, but I really do like "2 Rings" as a b-side. I think the fact that the camera cut off Yoohyeon twerking in the showcase performance is a crime though. Lol. (Lmao your stories about Josh crack me up. Hope he managed to beat _Erd Tree_ lmao.) Hi, "Fireflies" murdered me in cold blood and I have nothing else to say but T_T (Also, they left Siyeon's harmonies in the backing track when they sang this song live recently and I may or may not have cried.)
I had tears when I heard 'Justice' for the first time and for a few reaction videos afterward. I can't explain WHY I had tears past the part of being just so proud of these ladies, how far they have come through all that adversity. It's more than that but I can't really explain it. Well, maybe saying that I LOVE all of them to death would start to explain... IMO, 'Fireflies' is a better lullaby from them than their song called 'Lullaby'. Obviously I hope only the best for all of them but especially for Siyeon right now. I hope she can heal up in every way (no matter how long it takes; you can't rush this stuff) so that she can come back happy, healthy, well-rested and ready for the next big thing they do. OT7!
Miss seeing your DC reactions! Firefly is definitely, at the moment gotta wait till their next album to see, my favorite ballad song from them. This whole album is so good, this album has been on repeat on my spotify since it came out. I do recommend watching their "DanceEAR live performance" for Justice, since it does have Siyeon in it, so you can enjoy her vocals live.
I'm not saying it because I personally love "OOTD" (it eventually became my favorite title track until "Justice") but even the sound of "OOTD" it was purposeful in that it played into the VersuS lore. I think VersuS might even be my second favorite storyline after The Nightmare Series. But also, it was one title track. It was the fourteenth title track, I wish people were more open to DC experimenting with their sound. It was still rock, just not "anime" style jrock. Now I feel like they won't experiment with their title tracks much because a lot of fans were so not open to it. The last thing we want is for artists to get bored with their own music. So I hope they just do what they want lol they were really excited about "OOTD" because it was different. Anyway, this album is amazing but I think I did love VillainS just as much cause my God, "Rising" is everything, and "Shatter" was really cool. "Stomp" is trying to push "Demian" and "Don't Light My Fire" off my favorite song slot that they shared. Oh! Sadly, VersuS is just these last two albums, but they're already preparing a new storyline 😊
Howdy, friend! Been a while! Hope you're well! I had to take a step back from literally everything for a while. As for the crown being the source of evil. Yes. They built up an entire social media/ARG campaign about the crown. Long story short, the girls in the first MV were using the crown to sacrifice folks. Girls in this MV are there to right that wrong, hence the text at the beginning. That's an offensively short summary, but yeah. As for Stomp, I've been saying for the LONGEST time that DC needs to be on a League of Legends track. They would decimate that shit with zero doubt. It would be amazing. As for Fireflies, the harmonies and joint chorus really had me in my Red Velvet feelies. I'm here for that. I hope they keep up the harmonies like that for future ballads. I think that's something they had been missing for a long time. Thanks for the reaction!
IDK if you've already reacted to it, but if you really want to hear some Dami vocals, Siyeon and Dami have two duets Shadow and Shadow(slow version) they did as an OST for a movie, and i get chills every time. I would suggest the regular first and end with the slow version. their vocals are unreal.
My favorite mini album up to this point was Road to Utopia, and this one is giving it a run for the money. It's doubly interesting because Lose Myself was my least favorite mini before Road to Utopia and Villains is also my least favorite mini now, so it's twice now they have followed up a historical low with a historical high in my books😅 I hands down agree with Fireflies as their best ballad too, the harmonies were *chef's kiss* Overall a vocal upgrade, with the high notes on Justice and the way they sang on Two Rings with the growl tones is new as well.
2 Rings reminds me of 3 things... Axe body spray(idk why), and a sexy man like Chris Hemsworth-esque on a black leather jacket and finally a Harley Davidson bike...

knowing Dreamcatcher from Chase Me and You And I, "wow, rock k-pop?" not really follow them, but early knowing Dreamcatcher, I like their non-ballad songs before Piri, because Piri was my first early watch after it released. Trap, Mayday, Scar, that what I listen to my early phase of Dreamcatcher. I am not deep dive their songs, but I know their title tracks until BEcause, listening to MAISON, I think it's quite different, and for around a year, I stop listen to Dreamcatcher. but at some point, BONVOYAGE era, for me that song really nostalgic but idk why. reading comment, they got 4th win, diving Dreamcatcher, listen to more their songs, and I like it. Like JiU said, I can't escape from Dreamcatcher blackhole. Their songs is story, emotion, a tale, universe, message. Glad to know Dreamcatcher. Just recently I become ballad-catcher, after Dear and know JiU wrote it, I officially fan of Ballad-catcher, and they have Fireflies in this comeback, thanks for put ballad and please keep put good ballad for the future comeback
i think, once again, dreamcatcher took a theme and embodied it fully. this comeback is a clear sequel to ootd and fills its role by being the opposite of ootd. ootd was this watered down version of dreamcatcher, sound wise and lyrics wise, with an extremely edited and fake feeling to it. it was a commentary on taking the virtual space so seriously that you mold yourself to this version of you the people want. it rewards vanity and fake personas, makes you hide vulnerability and genuine expression. the final chorus of that song feels robotic and the repetition makes it sound like they're trying to convince themselves of this facade they're putting on. the crown in ootd was that whole concept personified, and it disappeared as soon as the computers were turned off. with justice, dreamcatcher breaks free from their own vanity. the small set displays dreamcatcher as a group, doing what they do best, which is performing. the high notes while dancing to demanding choreography is their trademark, the powerful song and performance are exactly what we want from dreamcatcher, yet it still sounds fresh. it throws out all the fancy sets and editing from ootd, yet they still look and perform perfectly. they don't need any of that, they just need to be dreamcatcher. all the religious imagery and the lyricism about war makes me think of joan of arc, who was burned at a stake. the warm lighting and fire motifs bring to mind purifying flames, burning away all the vanity and the facade they built and being reborn from the ashes (gaheyon's "clean me up" comes to mind). the solo shots show the vulnerability that they were hiding in ootd, you see gaheyon does get hit by the arrows, you see jiu tied down by her own vanity and fake confidence. they're fighting to be human again, burning all the lies away. they break the crown and decide to show their vulnerable backs to the camera at the end, something you'd never see in ootd. they reject the crown and face away from the camera, having burned away the lies, having been hit and wounded, but they emerge whole. thematically, the two songs make an extremely cohesive duo, despite how different the videos and songs are.
Personally I understand where you're coming from, when you talk about VillainS I didn't like OOTD that much at first, but b-sides saved the album for me

- Stomp: For the hundredth time they've managed to make something that is very them but also sounding really different, the mystical wondrous vibe in the prechorus is unmatched!! love this song, we're moving the planet out of its orbit with this one!!!!
- 2 rings: This and stomp are competing for my number one spot on this album but 2 rings edges out the fight just a little bit, the country rock sound fits them so very perfectly, and the touch of blues they added to this track just ascends me, I really hope one day they make a full on blues rock song, or even better, a soulful bluesy trap song!
- Fireflies: Listen, I'm a certified ballad hater but man, in all of kpop this is one of the least offensive ones I've heard so far, they are leveraging my obsession with harmonies it's not fair!!! 🙁
one of their best mini-albums for sure, honestly arguably their best imo, I was a little bit underwhelmed with VillainS but I'm soooooo happy with this one
There's a trick to listening to VillainS, though; if you have been a fan of Dreamcatcher for a while, I am a little surprised you did not catch on.
We know how GREAT DC is, right? We know that they SHOULD be at the top of the Korean Music market because they are quite literally World-Class at what they do; it's just that they go un-recognized for it in their own country. And because we do know just how awesome they really are, VillainS seemed like a let-down.
BUT, you need to remember what DC has been doing with those last two Trilogies, how they usee their platform for good causes. They are bringing awareness about problems with society, world-wide stuff that should not be happening, stuff that REALLY needs to change.
So, VillainS is a SARCASTIC album. They are MOCKING the Entertainment Industry for being okay with shady people. There are 'influencers' who keep talking kids into doing really dumb stuff (swallowing Tide Pods, drinking-and-driving, all of those REALLY DUMB 'challenges', dares and 'pranks' that get people hurt...). The group (and the company, really) was basically calling out all this B.S. on the part of the 'influencers'.
That is even why the music itself seemed a bit 'off' for VillainS and that's why the lyrics went like they did...
In what world would our sweet-hearted Sunshiny-Personality Charisma Rabbit Leader JiU EVER actually WANT anybody to call her a Goddess? She got EMBARRASSED when she found out that she had been voted The Most Beautiful K-Pop Idol, ALL THREE TIMES it happened (back-to-back-to-back, by the way; 2021, '22 and '23 so far and I would not be surprised if she gets it again this year...)! She's not about getting people to look at her as Deific if she can't even handle the thought that she is one of the most good-looking people in Korea! That's not the kind of person she is, we already know this.
SuA would never tell anybody to shut up and quit asking questions. That's not who she is. Same with Gahyeon. And Gahyeon would never treat life like a game.
Dami can't drink Alcohol, she's basically allergic; her hangovers last multiple days! So, she does not drink. Some of her rap lines in 'OOTD' included 'driving down the highway drunken every day. Tell me, do you feel like a monster?' That first part is not something she would EVER say is okay to do so to drive that point home, she added the second part.
Han Dong's lines also would not apply to her because she is conservative and an introvert: 'Popping the champagne, look at my necklace, wearing my black dress; cruising my rollie, cash in the backseat, we call it so sweet, so sweet'. That's just NOT like her at all, not to mention getting into a fight with Yoohyeon.
That entire album is sarcastic from top to bottom, EVERYTHING about it including the music itself. Instruments crammed together, overlapping unpleasantly or just plain sloppy (as if the musicians are drunk or high while performing...). That was all done on purpose because 'bad guys (or bad girls)' don't care. They are just out to make money and forget everybody else. Modern-day VillainS.

VirtuouS is the final part of VersuS Duology. For their next Lore, they might go deep into Parallel World, DeukaeVerse...something like Dreamcatcher's very own Multiverse...if you look closely at the end of JUSTICE MV..there's an 8th person standing behind them, with an outfit that almost similar to Dark JiU & Dark Yoohyeon in Deja Vu...if it is the same character from Deja Vu, then the Parallel World/ DeukaeVerse/ Multiverse might be exist in Dreamcatcher's Lore & we might have a chance to see them go back to their previous Universe like Dystopia, Nightmare, Apocalypse, BEcause, R.o.S.E Blue and etc.
They did say in their reaction video that the 8th person was their assistant though. I figure they meant that it was Sasha coming back since the crown has been vanquished.

"JUSTICE" definitely has me in a chokehold lmao. I think it's at least tied with "VISION," which was my previous favorite.
I think there definitely is something with the idea of them going back to their roots with "JUSTICE." Yoohyeon even specifically said that the shot of her biting the apple reminded her of SuA's line about biting a red apple in "Chase Me," and the burning tree reminds everyone of Dystopia...plus, there have been rumors that this video is confirmation of a Dreamcatcher Multiverse, so it's possible that the eighth person might be one of them from one of their other MVs, even though she's going by a different name.
(My father got tickets to see DC in December and didn't invite me >:[ To be fair, he didn't invite me because we live in different countries, but I'm still very, very jealous. They haven't come to my country in a very long time...I'm going to have to try and get tickets to see them in Korea, next time they have a show there, I suppose, since that's probably the closest they'll get.)
There's no replacing OT7 Dreamcatcher, but it is really impressive how the song doesn't feel _worse_ with the _main vocal_ missing. Like they did so well. We stan talent and we stan professionals.
The slash through the "O" in "STΦMP!" is actually the Greek letter "phi," which refers to a bunch of stuff, but one of the common usages in mathematics is representing the golden ratio. Also, you're definitely not the first person to say that "STΦMP!" sounds like a LoL track lmao. I feel like this whole album--and _VillainS,_ tbh--is just full of hype songs, and I'm kind of into it. I do prefer _VirtouS_ overall, though. We've heard that _VillainS_ and _VirtuouS_ are a duology, so we may not be getting a third part...sadly, because I'm super into where they're going here.
According to Gahyun (who has officially changed her name spelling btw!), "2 Rings" was the alternate title track candidate for this album. Personally, I think they made the right choice sticking with "JUSTICE" as the title, but I really do like "2 Rings" as a b-side. I think the fact that the camera cut off Yoohyeon twerking in the showcase performance is a crime though. Lol.

Hi, "Fireflies" murdered me in cold blood and I have nothing else to say but T_T (Also, they left Siyeon's harmonies in the backing track when they sang this song live recently and I may or may not have cried.)
I had tears when I heard 'Justice' for the first time and for a few reaction videos afterward. I can't explain WHY I had tears past the part of being just so proud of these ladies, how far they have come through all that adversity. It's more than that but I can't really explain it. Well, maybe saying that I LOVE all of them to death would start to explain...
IMO, 'Fireflies' is a better lullaby from them than their song called 'Lullaby'.
Obviously I hope only the best for all of them but especially for Siyeon right now. I hope she can heal up in every way (no matter how long it takes; you can't rush this stuff) so that she can come back happy, healthy, well-rested and ready for the next big thing they do.

Firefly is definitely, at the moment gotta wait till their next album to see, my favorite ballad song from them. This whole album is so good, this album has been on repeat on my spotify since it came out.
I do recommend watching their "DanceEAR live performance" for Justice, since it does have Siyeon in it, so you can enjoy her vocals live.

I'm not saying it because I personally love "OOTD" (it eventually became my favorite title track until "Justice") but even the sound of "OOTD" it was purposeful in that it played into the VersuS lore. I think VersuS might even be my second favorite storyline after The Nightmare Series.
But also, it was one title track. It was the fourteenth title track, I wish people were more open to DC experimenting with their sound. It was still rock, just not "anime" style jrock. Now I feel like they won't experiment with their title tracks much because a lot of fans were so not open to it.
The last thing we want is for artists to get bored with their own music. So I hope they just do what they want lol they were really excited about "OOTD" because it was different.
Anyway, this album is amazing but I think I did love VillainS just as much cause my God, "Rising" is everything, and "Shatter" was really cool. "Stomp" is trying to push "Demian" and "Don't Light My Fire" off my favorite song slot that they shared.
Oh! Sadly, VersuS is just these last two albums, but they're already preparing a new storyline 😊

As for the crown being the source of evil. Yes. They built up an entire social media/ARG campaign about the crown. Long story short, the girls in the first MV were using the crown to sacrifice folks. Girls in this MV are there to right that wrong, hence the text at the beginning. That's an offensively short summary, but yeah.
As for Stomp, I've been saying for the LONGEST time that DC needs to be on a League of Legends track. They would decimate that shit with zero doubt. It would be amazing.
As for Fireflies, the harmonies and joint chorus really had me in my Red Velvet feelies. I'm here for that. I hope they keep up the harmonies like that for future ballads. I think that's something they had been missing for a long time.

My favorite mini album up to this point was Road to Utopia, and this one is giving it a run for the money. It's doubly interesting because Lose Myself was my least favorite mini before Road to Utopia and Villains is also my least favorite mini now, so it's twice now they have followed up a historical low with a historical high in my books😅 I hands down agree with Fireflies as their best ballad too, the harmonies were *chef's kiss* Overall a vocal upgrade, with the high notes on Justice and the way they sang on Two Rings with the growl tones is new as well.

i think, once again, dreamcatcher took a theme and embodied it fully. this comeback is a clear sequel to ootd and fills its role by being the opposite of ootd. ootd was this watered down version of dreamcatcher, sound wise and lyrics wise, with an extremely edited and fake feeling to it. it was a commentary on taking the virtual space so seriously that you mold yourself to this version of you the people want. it rewards vanity and fake personas, makes you hide vulnerability and genuine expression. the final chorus of that song feels robotic and the repetition makes it sound like they're trying to convince themselves of this facade they're putting on. the crown in ootd was that whole concept personified, and it disappeared as soon as the computers were turned off.
with justice, dreamcatcher breaks free from their own vanity. the small set displays dreamcatcher as a group, doing what they do best, which is performing. the high notes while dancing to demanding choreography is their trademark, the powerful song and performance are exactly what we want from dreamcatcher, yet it still sounds fresh. it throws out all the fancy sets and editing from ootd, yet they still look and perform perfectly. they don't need any of that, they just need to be dreamcatcher. all the religious imagery and the lyricism about war makes me think of joan of arc, who was burned at a stake. the warm lighting and fire motifs bring to mind purifying flames, burning away all the vanity and the facade they built and being reborn from the ashes (gaheyon's "clean me up" comes to mind). the solo shots show the vulnerability that they were hiding in ootd, you see gaheyon does get hit by the arrows, you see jiu tied down by her own vanity and fake confidence. they're fighting to be human again, burning all the lies away. they break the crown and decide to show their vulnerable backs to the camera at the end, something you'd never see in ootd. they reject the crown and face away from the camera, having burned away the lies, having been hit and wounded, but they emerge whole. thematically, the two songs make an extremely cohesive duo, despite how different the videos and songs are.
