Your videos have rescued my drives from the pit of misery. I started emulating this set up a few months ago. With this set up, changing to a stronger grip, and “throwing the club, my drives have gone from a wicked slice or 220 yards when straight, to a nice draw between 270-285 yards. Your videos are so much better than the mainstream teaching I’ve come across before.

I have watched countless of hours of golf videos and this one makes the most sense. I can’t wait to try this out on the range. I can see where the set up would make you think you’re going to hit the ground and not the ball. But your explanation is amazing. Thank you.
Before I found this video, I was watching another video and saw that Sav (who crushes it, let's be honest) was doing this though it was not really explained during the other video. I tried to mimic her positions, but I am not as flexible lol. Then i saw how she seemed to be setting up her low point so she was hitting center on the way up, instantly fixed my seemingly "lost" power and distance. Really a game changer for me, now to fix my alignment. I think this particular video will help :)
The GOAT golf instructor, this guy helped my golf swing like no other......wish these videos came a decade earlier, better now than never...lol Thank you so much
I've gotta say a big thank you to Shawn. Watching your videos has gotten rid of my slice. I use to tee off with my 3 iron because I just couldn't hit my driver without a big slice. Now i'm hitting the ball much more consistently straight. Last week I even drove one about 290 dead center of the fairway. Keep up the great work and thanks.
The ‘Goldie locks’ routine from Shawn is the most underrated thing in golf! He had a putting video with that principle a few years back and it’s still gold. Also, as a lefty it’s nice to see TWO of them on a channel!

Shawn you keep answering all the nagging questions I’ve had for years. I feel as thick as f**k that I haven’t realised this stuff myself. When it’s explained it seems so obvious. 👏👏👏👍🏻
Moe Norman sets up like this? Club little ways behind the ball? I wish I could come there for lessons.... I love these people. They have helped my game become fun again. I would love to pack up my camper and my 0211s and head across the border for a week. Is that possible?🤔
Hi Shawn, I really enjoy all your videos. Sometimes I wish I could see the camera angle behind the ball to your intermediate point. Like in this video. I see the front view here looking at the golfer. But would be great to see behind.....looking towards the target, with a line drawn from the ball to the intermediate point. And then the set up nuances to get the draw versus the fade. No matter how much I try, I can't really get the nice draw. But I'm getting pretty good at the power fade. With moving the ball back in the stance with the intended draw, it feels like the club doesn't want to hit on the up stroke. So then I move it forward, and always get the fade.
Shawn this was the video that clicked things into place for me. Watched it last night and realised I wasnt closing the face before getting behind the ball. Did it today though and hit all 14 fairways and at least 10yds further distance. Thank you for the videos and great teaching
This set up works so well and has changed my life with the driver, hit waaaay more fairways now consistantly. Thank you Shawn and Moe Norman so much! My only question that I have been wondering for years since learning this from Shawn is... "why do the guys on tour NOT USE this set up"?
Shawn: Thanks for this and all your videos. For the first time in 55 years I finally understand what the golf swing is supposed to accomplish. All of what you say resonates with my experience and my scientific education, plus my own research into ball flight in baseball and golf. In conjunction with my SkyTrak, I have made amazing strides in correcting my life-long slice, limiting backspin, improving precision, and becoming consistent off the tee and from the fairway. Excellent video as always. You’ve helped my game so much and continue to do so. The only recommendation I would have is if there is a way you could do slow Mo videos instead of stop motion when you’re recapping the swings I think that would be very beneficial. Thanks again!
Shawn I have always noticed that your swing is more of a "whip" from the top to the downswing. I see Sav and Mo have a more "rotational" type swing and I was wondering if we should ever try to duplicate what you do, or is that just how you swing. I have tried to "gather....gather....throw" and it works, but I don't know where the ball goes sometimes! Lol! It goes far, but I don't feel like I do when I just swing and let my arms and body go. Just an observation! Love your videos.
Hey Shawn thanks for your videos. I wasn't sure where to post this comment but figured you'd see it here. So i listen to your perfect imperfections podcast and i've noticed that the start of the podcast has that audio intro overlay, but the last few episodes, notably the most recent one, ball position do's and don'ts, that the intro audio continues playing for 3-4 minutes instead of just a few seconds so it completely drowns out you guys talking. I love everything you do for the swing Shawn! I use the strong grip and ball forward but for some reason I am either getting a big top spin and short like a tennis shot, or a big hook as well. Am I missing something obvious?
Ok, so let’s look at the obvious culprits: effort level is low at 2/10 and velocity is high at 8/10 and the peak speed of your swing is well past the ball and intermediate point towards the target?
