They placed 3rd. They are an amazing band, and they seem like such good kids. Last year's show was my favorite performance by any band I've seen. And I'm not even affiliated with the school.
Yes Gary, I was there and you are right, overall they did place 3rd. I was referring specifically to their musical presentation aspect of the scoring. The refinement, core, & energy in the Vandergrift sound is without peer IMO.
@@ertatta I agree. And I think that minimizing the amount of props on the field forces you to focus on their actual performance. To me that means their consistently high placements are due to skill first and foremost. My youngest graduates this year, but I still hope to see this band perform in the future.
TEXAS MARCHING BANDS ARE THE BEST
The sounds these kids made was jaw dropping good. I would venture to guess there music/playing scores were tops in finals. Bravo!
