Very true bro, my reason for quitting weed now is because I genuinely believe that weed has altered my mental state even while I'm sober, not just high
6es this is very true and something I've noticed. Even sober, even 16 hours without smoking it was still affecting me. Everything from mood, to mental clarity, to focus, to even my vision was altered in some negative way. This wouldn't be the case for people that use cannabis moderately like a couple times week, but doing it every day and multiple times a day will change your sober life. It's like you're committing your life to it. Glad I quit.
The best part of not smoking weed for me... I finally feel somewhat attractive, and far less self conscious of myself when around females. I actually enjoy talking to girls when I'm not in my weed smoking routine, but when I'm in my routine of smoking weed I get very derped out and even paranoid around girls. Lots of people, like Snoop Dogg can smoke a blunt in a jacuzzi with titties in his face and not give a fuck, lol, but that is just not how I respond with it.
Very true. Whenever I smoke with girls or people I don't really know, I get paranoid and it ruins the moment for me. Snoop Dogg is already a big success even if he wasn't smoking, there would be titties in his face. Don't beat yourself up about this, but yeah, quitting weed is a way better way of living.
3 months sober!!! I feel so much happier. I use to be pretty depressed and life seemed like crap. My life isn’t that much better yet except for the fact that I’m not depressed anymore. I still have crazy dreams but they seem to be less often. I also still get sad from time to time but it seems like it’s for normal stuff that would make anyone sad. I literally was sad everyday and weed would make me feel better but the reality is it was making me sadder overall. If you have depression issues and smoke weed quitting will only help you get past it. I hope anyone reading this with depression issues tries quitting weed.
Thank you 🙏🏼 I’m crying right now because I’m going to withdrawals. I felt like giving up because this feeling sucks so bad but I know I’ll be better after. I’m asking for some prayers. Today is my 3rd day and I’m going through insomnia. It’s almost 4 am I’ve been up since 3 am when I’m always a person who sleeps from 9ish to 7 am .. I will push through! I did it once but I hanged around with the wrong crowd again but this time I’m pushing through. I know my future will look better. I just graduated with my BA so I’m trying to get into law the only way I’ll get through it is if I stop smoking and focus on my goals. Please keep praying for my brother and I. We both quit the same day. I know for him it will be a bit harder because he’s been smoking for years, I’ve smoked for around 3 years. P.S Thank you for your videos, they really helped me this morning. I started to cry in the shower but I’ll get past this. 🙏🏼

Stay strong buddy I know this will be worth it 🙏🏼 this is the best decision we ever made. Stay safe !
I quit for a few weeks and I felt so much better mentally and physically. Friends try to tell me it’s no big deal smoke if u wanna smoke but my conscious tells me they are wrong. Being sober made me see the light.
Yep, exactly. The people who say smoking isn't an issue are the same people who smoke every day lol of course they wouldn't see an issue with it but just going sober like how you did it's an immediate way to see its a huge difference!
Using cannabis is fine, it's when you do it every day, and especially multiple times a day, does it become a problem. It's called abuse, I would even argue drinking multiple cups of coffee a day is another example of abuse. It's too much too frequently. So someone already a stoner it's good to first quit for months to years, then never go back to using everyday if they want to use it again at some point. Moderation is key, multiple times a week or less, and using consumption methods other than combustion is the way to go using cannabis products.
Great video. I'm on day 7 of quitting. Already feel more energized and motivated. I've been on 2 runs so far- something I've always wanted to get into but never had the motivation to do. Can't wait to feel like my old self again. For 2 years I've had absolutely no personality, no goals, no drive. 7 days ago I just got so sick of it. Sick of never having anything to contribute to a conversation. Sick of forgetting things at work all of the time. Sick of doing nothing but going to work and coming home and getting high. I lost 2 years of my life to weed- they were all a blur. I am excited to find myself again. Thanks for the daily boost!
62 days now i feel a lot better than even the last time i quit which lasted 300+ hundred days. I think a big part is getting rid of all the negative associations/influences in your life (as much as it sucks and you want to go back) you can stop the act but if you don't change the environment and your perspective you're just going to go right back into that habit you need to evolve. I spent the last 2 years clearing up that aspect of my life while still smoking here and there. Until 62 days ago i wasn't ready to give it up completely, i feel a ton better without that influence in my life. I've had to move, change my job and get on a better path, limit contact with my old friends that are bad influences, start doing activities that are good for me (they were never as fun as when i smoked). Now I've been going to school and working a lot more I cleared myself from debt and i'm ready to start a family soon. I didn't really want to quit the idea scared me, i feel a ton better without weed in my life my outlook has changed. Honestly, this quarantine has helped me as well i realized that all weed was there for was to numb me from the pain that i had in side and to keep me running from bad feelings I had to face myself and get used to feeling for once. Often even recently I would have major cravings and thoughts like "life just sucks, whats the point of it all might as well smoke" could not get any joy I think that's just your brain re wiring itself because you're constantly spiking your brain with hits of dopamine. So, it does get better and this is the time to really get introspective and consider your life and the choices you need to make. Also, I have the most intense dreams now every night. I used to not dream at all I mean just fall asleep wake up and repeat no dreams. Now i dream constantly every night. Just keep moving forward and find that reason to move forward.
Thanks brother I'm purposely watching videos for inspiration and motivation to quit this crap and your video checked the boxes. Ive been a smoker/user for almost 30 yrs with a few patches of no use but just replaced with other drugs mostly opiates which I've recently quit again. Now i just need to stop marajuana and I'm sober dog. Thank you my friend for the video, stay strong and sober
Thanks man, I have been having trouble sticking to this change I want to make...quitting for a week or a few days and then going back. Exactly brotha! Removing the influences in your life make it so much easier to quit. For me, I moved away and went to a new environment to escape the negative influences I have. Don't have any friends here but my wife and our new baby is plenty lol! How's things going with you? How many days without?
Man I've been smoking for 60 years and I really want to try to quit but after this much time of smoking over and over and over again usually I go maybe 2 to 3 days and after that I just can't I have to run back to marijuana it is so hard to quit it's a mental addiction put your program gave me a lot of Hope so I'm going to keep trying it is so nice to see somebody finally get over to the other side
Helped out a lot on my perspective , I’ve worked minimum wage before like a dog and would basically work everyday to supply my weed addiction . Also mix of cigarettes, I feel like marijuana isn’t bad but isn’t intended for often consumption. I used to feel elevated like I’m all the sudden on a higher plane . But once the plane becomes the norm it doesn’t seem so high .
I am on day 4 of no weed and no alcohol.. I don't feel so bad, just a bit out of sorts. I am really motivated to give it up for good. I hope in a month my sleeping starts to improve
Michigan Wolverine in Dallas day 43!! I’m not even thinking about it anymore. Maybe quarantine is helping too bc I’m not around any of my friends the that still do it. I feel really really good. How are you doing with it?
I don't usually ever comment on videos. But in this case I had to thank you for sharing this information since weed is so socially acceptable, especially now here in Canada that almost nobody talks about how detrimental it can be for someones life. Also people who smoke get offended when you mention anything bad about weed. In my experience, weed made me - Super paranoid/anxious/antisocial, after smoking I couldn't even leave my life - Increased the chance of relapsing on other habits I had been trying to build (e.g better diet, sleep routine) - Kind of connected to last one but weed made me super unproductive which you described perfectly in this video - Also weed mades you straight up dumb, I dont care what anyone says it destroys your cognitive capabilities. (Memory, articulation, ability to process information, etc etc) I am on day 5 of no weed after 8 years of smoking moderately and just started dreaming again last night but my anxiety is through the roof this past week, though I know this will blow over and things will clear up. Bless you all
About that last point you're just misunderstanding what's going on in the brain with THC. It's not destroying your cognition, it's modulating the endocannabinoid system which puts you in a dream like state since the limbic system is incredibly dense with endocannabinoid receptors. Things like short term memory are side effects, not the effects of the compound. It's only when you're high as well. I say this as someone who's already long quit and won't deny it affected my mental state sober, but making you dumb cannabis does not. Once you read the pharmacological research on it like I have you'd see exactly why that's the case. It's understandable why people think it is tho.
And keep in mind everything you've mentioned has to do with abusing cannabis, it's really no surprise abusing any substance will have such drastic negative effects. Abuse caffeine and you can heart attacks, burned out adrenals, debilitating anxiety, etc. Abuse Tylenol and your liver will fail. We as a society don't use caffeine or cannabis moderately, we abuse it and normalize the abuse. Smoking everyday, especially multiple times a day Is abuse. Couple times a week or month, not daily. Oral consumption or vaping, not combusting the flower. Using it to your advantage when you do use it, not consuming cannabis just to get high or have fun. There's right and wrong ways to use these things.
I just quit cold turkey. I've been experiencing severe depression and anxiety as a result of extensive smoking. Perseverance is critical to reconquer your life.
Something that many people don't mention is weed actually sabotages your sleep! REM sleep is drastically reduced. Moreover, it is sometimes hard to get to bed since weed makes your mind wonder from one topic to another. I used to admit this when I was smoking and my friends would say it was in my head. I decided it was my own quirk, but I now actually believe they were just in denial. That or they were used to the drained foggy feeling: that was their norm!
@@BetterYouNow I just started my journey on quitting weed. What you said absolutely makes a lot sense. I have been experiencing crazy sober dreams and I am so emotional lol. I must embrace this journey there is a great reward waiting for me.
@@lapdscuffy It allows you to start working on yourself, no more hiding from the problems you might need to work on, and by quitting you'll see a ton of improvements afterwards. Next, internet addiction, break from technology. That screws up dopamine receptors too. Check out some other videos on the channel! Have touched on this topic quite a bit and ty for taking the time to watch you're on the right path! =-)
Another great video! Im just a month and a few days since I quit and the productivity is increasing everyday. Your videos have been great at motivating me to be focused. Yesterday I was able to code for 4 hours. Today I've coded for 5. Tomorrow will be 6. Theres no stopping when you dont have weed to tempt you :) (and video games!)
Mike! Thank you for coming back and keeping me updated with your progress! Damnnnn 4 hours is solid. Make sure you're taking breaks at least every 90 minutes. They say a quick 15 minute break between work improves our work quality drastically. Am really proud of you man for removing the video games and getting the results you've been looking for. It may be work but it gives a feeling of satisfaction and purpose which weed could never give. I know you'll get up to 8 hours a day, in time that'll land you a really good job offer and 6 months from now you could have a whole lot more money and new career! Getting it!!!! :)
@@BetterYouNow From the bottom of my heart thank you very much for the encouragement!!! Im going to keep at it and hopefully everything falls into the right place. Keep on posting videos! I hope good things come your way brother
This is my first official day since allowing myself to run out of herb. And I am just so tired. Like, physically. I’ve just gotten out of a 5-year relationship that was very toxic, and in the last 1-2 years I began relying on weed as a coping mechanism so that I didn’t hate my life so much. But now, I’m realizing that it just doesn’t serve me anymore and it’s just keeping me from feeling motivated to push further as an individual. I’ve fallen back on any discipline I’ve tried to engage in, be it working out, or reading more, writing more, even making the effort to have a social life again. I’ve been social distancing my friends since long before COVID. I’m hoping as the weeks go by, I won’t just wish deep down that I could get high. But for now, I’m just tired.
I feel ya man, the first few weeks are rough. I exchanged it for some light exercises as the withdrawal symptoms meant I couldn't do anything too physically intensive. Going for a jog can really clear you head. I used weed to escape from my problems but it just meant it built up and I didn't really deal with anything.
Tried to quit 3 times. First time I lasted about a year. Second I succumbed after 5 months. On my third run rn with 2 months in so far. I've tried to replace it with all the healthier things you can name of but I'm still hella suffering without it. I hardly used it recreationally and when I did use it it was super super minimal. I could easily make a gram last weeks and often did so. My main purpose with it was not to get high but for its medicinal benefits. I believe that quitting is what's best for me in the end but that's not what I'm seeing with the results of my efforts so I'm losing my fucking mind here!!!
I’m in that same boat with you it has no negatives in my life cause I keep myself in check and only use it when I just need to chill which makes it much harder to stop for me but i know being sober in the long run is the way to go. Small steps keep progressing good luck to you !
how long does the whole process take because starting from next year i want to be serious about my life and i don't want the side effects messing with me while trying to achieve something... but i plan n stopping today itself
Great job making the right changes! Willpower and discipline are finite resources which become exhausted by the end of the day. So removing the thing or person in your environment which provoked you, will make it incredibly easier to quit and follow through. "Out of sight, out of mind", is so true. I personally moved to a new city to escape my old environment, I'm proud you've made the right decision to better yourself! You go girl!
Hahaha! That's funny! How ironic, LOL. I literally remember sitting looking around like, "What were we talking about?" and if lucky sometimes we'd remember five minutes later like, ooooh! One time in front of a presentation I just went blank and completely forgot what the hell I was presenting so instead of using my speech which I rehearsed for hours I had to freestyle it. Was terrifying. So glad that's over with, life is so much better now and memory def comes back though within first two months!! (Btw thanks for the double comments!!!! Thank you so much!! You're awesome because it really helps the channel keep growing)
I stopped smoking weed for 4 days now on going to day 5 and I just want to know how to get that thought of my head like I don’t even want to get high anytime at all anymore but for some reason when I smell the weed or listen to music I just think about relapsing just for the taste not even the high ?and would like some help
By the second week, your hunger will slowly start to come back. By the third week I was literally hungry all the time, so it gets easy to start gaining weight then. Now being sober a year later, my face is not so skinny anymore in a healthy way. I put on about 15 pounds of muscle but haven't been able to exercise for the past 6 months because of all the gyms being closed =( The most important thing is to get your hunger back online. After a month of sobriety, you can chow down a lot and it's really easy to gain weight, but when I was smoking I couldn't eat like that so putting on weight felt impossible. Sobriety for life my friend!
It's something you never really get back, you can just see some of the goofy stuff ppl do and think they've never smoked before, but that ignorance is bliss and the correct way.
It happens my friend. Think of steroids, when someone takes too much testosterone their body stops naturally producing it. Well, when you smoke your brain no longer needs to self regulate the urge to eat or sleep, so when you stop your body slowly has to turn those systems back online. Give it about two weeks with no smoking and by the third week you'll feel so hungry all the time! You got this!
We will always love herb, there's deep rooted habits embedded in our brain's wiring from years of abusing it. That's why now we have to be super selective on who we choose as our friends. It would be so easy to get caught back up with pot being around the wrong people. However the thought of losing another 8 years being a mumbling, unproductive person isn't what I want. I don't want that for you either man! We have to find joy in our new life, for me it's uploading videos daily, being a better husband and father. You have to find your reasons, things which bring you happiness now. I know you can do this man, YOU GOT THIS! You're 3 weeks in, so it's natural for think about it more since it's been so recently since quitting. Give yourself time, I doubt you'll be thinking about it in 6 months my friend :)
When I smoke, I will get bloated because of the smoke? Hhahhahh oh my god where did you read this ahahhaha please give me a source, it sounds like full-fledged bro science
Really dude... Take two seconds to Google "swallowing smoke irritates stomach", you realize when you rip a bong and start coughing when you swallow your saliva mid-cough, you also swallow SMOKE which can irritate and inflame the inner lining of your stomach after daily habitual abuse. Ripping ounces a week through a bong for eight years, IT ADDS UP. Think about it, use common sense, or Google.

Don't have any friends here but my wife and our new baby is plenty lol! How's things going with you? How many days without?
I quited 2 months but i relapsed for a week now... its verry hard to quit again but this video is a great motivation 🍀💪🏼
WOW bro, ALLLL FACTS!!!! thanks man im on day 4 and i feel great
@Valourous One you got it bro
I'm proud of you! 👏🏼 🥰
On my fifth day I’m doing surprisingly well it’s just that I have a really hard time falling asleep since I was used to smoking before going to bed.
How you doing?
outgrowing weed is an amazing and life changing moment. Respect to anyone trying to etter their lives
Excellent message, amen!
Best thing about quitting weed is just being able to go sleep without having to be high
very true I've quite somking for 2 weeks so far. I've experienced more productive, lossing weight and more energy more then ever.
Natural high the natural hormone process that goes on by itself without the cloned copy versions
Keep going bro!! Well done on your accomplishment!
I am on day 4 of no weed and no alcohol.. I don't feel so bad, just a bit out of sorts. I am really motivated to give it up for good. I hope in a month my sleeping starts to improve
after 20 years of smoking i got ear pain.. i am doing my best to heal
Day 21 over here. We can ALL do it!
Michigan Wolverine in Dallas day 43!! I’m not even thinking about it anymore. Maybe quarantine is helping too bc I’m not around any of my friends the that still do it. I feel really really good. How are you doing with it?
Thank you man, you really push me to understand that I am truly doing the right step🤝
I don't usually ever comment on videos. But in this case I had to thank you for sharing this information since weed is so socially acceptable, especially now here in Canada that almost nobody talks about how detrimental it can be for someones life. Also people who smoke get offended when you mention anything bad about weed.
In my experience, weed made me
- Super paranoid/anxious/antisocial, after smoking I couldn't even leave my life
- Increased the chance of relapsing on other habits I had been trying to build (e.g better diet, sleep routine)
- Kind of connected to last one but weed made me super unproductive which you described perfectly in this video
- Also weed mades you straight up dumb, I dont care what anyone says it destroys your cognitive capabilities. (Memory, articulation, ability to process information, etc etc)
I am on day 5 of no weed after 8 years of smoking moderately and just started dreaming again last night but my anxiety is through the roof this past week, though I know this will blow over and things will clear up. Bless you all
Very true this is me right now .I wish I could quit
How long would it take for the anxiety to go away after quitting
@@karanw4276 2 weeks give or take
About that last point you're just misunderstanding what's going on in the brain with THC.
I’m 18 days clean. It’s been super difficult ain’t gonna lie, been feeling depressed, anxious, paranoid, trouble sleeping, when will this fade away!
Did it fade away
Carlos Moreno it has calmed down but not totally faded away.
I'm just smoking my last joint watching this, then never ever again....
Gonna smoke all day, today and ill try this day to be the last
best video on youtube.
12/13/21 first day of quitting lets see how it goes
Thank you 🙏 you are awesome!!!!
Thank you for the compliment, hope this video helped and if you have any questions fire away!
@@BetterYouNow ok sounds good! I definitely agree with the internet addiction.
Great video. Thanks so much for this! I am on day 6 of detox and I’m having irritating withdrawal symptoms. What are your thoughts on CBD oil?
I feel so much better going clean after 14 + years of use
Thanks for this !
Kuddos to you, my man!
Stopping smoking, going out on the weekends, and drinking made me realize alcohol is worse than weed and I quit that too
Another great video!
Oh shit man. Do the video games make you wanna smoke too? Most of the time I end up smoking before gaming.
Thank you for this video.
Thanks brother!
Stopped for 9 weeks now still got cravings xD
$800.00 on tha weed !! Dzamn. Money in tha bank fasho 👍
Love u brother and keep up the good workd.
you are super right
Thanks so much man for watching the video! Btw your husky is adorable!
5days sober
I quit smoking and started drinking
you think that’s an improvement? i did the same shit but idk if it’s good or bad lol
Yikes
How’s it going? Have you stayed quit?
Zak Aaron lasted 100 days
I’m in that same boat with you it has no negatives in my life cause I keep myself in check and only use it when I just need to chill which makes it much harder to stop for me but i know being sober in the long run is the way to go. Small steps keep progressing good luck to you !
Use cbd oil maybe?
When I’m not smoking I feel like a more competent person
Really helpful
Facts.
I thought this was like a meme or sum he looks geeked af
"Erb" 😂
how long does the whole process take because starting from next year i want to be serious about my life and i don't want the side effects messing with me while trying to achieve something... but i plan n stopping today itself
Tumelo Mpati if you really want to quit making the decision to quit should instantly make you feel better about yourself.
I’m on day 2 of not smoking was dating someone who smoked way to much.
4:20 this made me laugh.. also the timestamp is pretty ironic
Lol 420
thanks!!!
I stopped smoking weed for 4 days now on going to day 5 and I just want to know how to get that thought of my head like I don’t even want to get high anytime at all anymore but for some reason when I smell the weed or listen to music I just think about relapsing just for the taste not even the high ?and would like some help
What about smoking only on special occasions or rare occasions?
MO_LOVE
Once or twice a month is okey.
No dont do it pls!
Day 62🙏🏿
@@MOLOVE0525 Day 48 for me :))
I didn't know that about the weight. But It happened to me before. I just forgot because smoked
Im motivated
Glad I could help :) I appreciate that my man! Are you considering quitting now Tevin, or maybe already started?
OfficialJesseStone 2 days clean
How much time it took for you to gain weight and how much weight did you gain???
By the second week, your hunger will slowly start to come back. By the third week I was literally hungry all the time, so it gets easy to start gaining weight then. Now being sober a year later, my face is not so skinny anymore in a healthy way. I put on about 15 pounds of muscle but haven't been able to exercise for the past 6 months because of all the gyms being closed =(
The most important thing is to get your hunger back online. After a month of sobriety, you can chow down a lot and it's really easy to gain weight, but when I was smoking I couldn't eat like that so putting on weight felt impossible. Sobriety for life my friend!
@@BetterYouNow Thanks a lot for your humble response. I really appreciate it.
I’m 2 months in and I’ve replaced it with masturbation. Help!!!!
weed completely changes your sober mindset
This is so true =(
It's something you never really get back, you can just see some of the goofy stuff ppl do and think they've never smoked before, but that ignorance is bliss and the correct way.
I cant eat, work or sleep without smoking weed but i want quit so badly.
I’ve tried quitting I just can’t handle the nightmares
I feel that but I’m sure they go away. I wouldn’t know im only few days in
🔥🔥
Amazing
This guy looks like he knows what he talking about
Thank you, Adrian! Hope this video has helped and that you're staying safe during these hectic times!
Is that Spiderman?
❤
💪🏽💪🏽
Plot twist: he switched to edibles. :S
3 weeks in. I miss it. How can I let go?
@@BetterYouNow "We will always love herb" Is smoking something that we genuinely enjoy or are we just addicted?
You are a wise guy eh?
I think I have that stomach thing smh
I’d go to the gym bloated as hell 😂 finally occurred to me one day that it was from the smoking. Bunch of air in my belly lol
Hopefully the dark circles around your eyes improved.
Wtf how can you smoke 3.5 grams a day wow. 800 bucks a month is 100 grams at least. So you tell me you smoked 3.5 g a day ? Crazy
Yeah sadly, it's def a lot but nothing compared to ppl in California who rolling ounces a day it's pretty crazy
thats only 3-4 fat joints
