    I'm originally from Wrexham and I have family still there. Wrexham deserved to get out of the hole they were buried in. For most of their existence, they were a League One team. They were only relegated from that league because of their finances. They had a points deduction because of their debt levels. The doco covers the story really well. What is also very true is that this has had a huge impact on the town/city. Tourism has boomed. The town itself is nothing special, but North Wales has a lot of natural beauty and amazing places to visit. There are so many heartwarming stories to come out of this.
    On another note, you're absolutely right. Your franchise system SUCKS. Promotion and Relegation is what makes football/soccer so amazing. If you're not fighting to win the league, you're still fighting to stay in it, or you're fighting for a playoff position for a chance to still go up. In the Premier league, it's the same, except swap playoff with European competition. The English system is the best of all the European leagues, due to the vast size of the pyramid. Just checkout the story of Dorking Wanderers in the National League. Started by some friends 25 years ago and had 13 promotions since. The manager is the same guy this whole time. No team is too big to go down and no team is too small to go up.

      Honestly it makes the sports so exciting, Can be heartbreaking for some teams but the money they can make in promotion and the story you have. Without it, in MLS for example it feels like some teams can afford to be bad for as long as they want and never make too much change.

    The club worked their butts off to get where they are. But let’s not forget how much Ryan and Rob did to raise the PR of the brand. Not just any buyer can do it and was willing to go to the extent they did to promote the club and the town. You guys sound jealous as heck

    Aston Villa was relegated a few years ago from Premier league to Championship, one of the oldest founding historic Giant Club and former European Champions! Now we are back near Top of Prem n possibly in Champions League next year!? This is what makes The English Promotion - Relegation system so great and exciting! EVERY Game Matters right to the end of the season! Unlike MLS or NFL, 4:57 Where's the excitement and Drama in that!? Half the teams give up when they can't make play offs to get better draft picks!! That's not fair on the fans who pay Big money to go to games! We wouldn't put up with that nonsense in UK! 😂

    Ryan raynolds is a movie star Rob is a tv star.
    Another thing, getting promotions back to back is actually rare at these levels.
    another point Ryan is worth millions, not billions and as such, you can't come in and say well he got money so don't get over hype, Football even in England is controlled by oil money, not movie money, there's a high difference, and even with way bigger investments, you still have clubs that can't produce what they produce.
    one last thing, if they get promoted next season as well, they would be the first ones ever to do 3 back to back promotions at these levels, so in some ways, yes it is a cindarela story, don't make it some cheap thing only because the owners have a few millions to spend, cause in English football, millions doesn't mean anything when you have to pay millions of pounds a year just in player salaries, it's a billioner world and you have owners who are doing it proper with millions instead. it's not about the money, it's about the managment.

    As a supporter of Chester, in its previous incarnation Wrexham's chief rival in the old Fourth Division, and now stuck in non-league football, I could be totally jealous of Wrexham's fortune. But, no! This is an inspiring story and I can dream of Chester one day beating Wrexham in the Championship play-offs. Fat chance!

    What happened in Cinderella again? Remind me.
    Oh yeah, a rich handsome wealthy prince (Rob/Ryan) lifted a diamond in the rough Cinderella (Wrexham) out of poverty and raised her status.
    Sounds like the shoe fits to me.
    Its not an UNDERDOG story, but its certainly a Cinderella story.

    • @Lupin788
      @Lupin788 Місяць тому +3

      Exactly. Too many people think "Cinderella" means "underdog". The underdog part of the story refers to the Wrexham Supporters' Trust saving their team from an evil owner (Alex Hamilton) who tried to sell off the Racecourse Ground so he could develop the real estate.

Reynolds & McElhenney put an insane amount on money into this club, that gave a clear advantage over all League Two and National League teams. And like Hercules just said, I really want this team to reach the Premier or even the Championship, but getting out League One is not going to be easy. Just ask Sunderland fans.
