  • In this program professor Strawson discusses his work with Mark Sainsbury, Martin Davies and Maite Ezcurdia.
The program is divided into five sections:
Basic Particulars(3:46); Persons (12:38); Conceptual Scheme (25:29); Truth, Reference and Meaning (42:00); and Recollections and Prospects (52:36).
Sir Peter Strawson, emeritus Waynflete Professor of Metaphysical Philosophy at the University of Oxford, and Fellow of the British Academy, has shaped the development in philosophy for over forty-five years. His criticism of Bertrand Russell in his paper "On Referring" (1950) crucially altered the philosophical conception of analysis. Individuals: An Essay in Descriptive Metaphysics (1959), one of the great achievements of twentieth century analytic philosophy, returned metaphysics to the centre of Anglo-American philosophical concern. The Bounds of Sense: An Essay on Kant'sCritique of Pure Reason (1966) transformed the framework for subsequent interpretations of Kantian philosophy. These and over sixty other works display Professor Strawson's powerful intellect, rich imagination and complex stylistic grace.

I respect Strawson’s stance to allow the psychologists to do their jobs against the “epistemic imperialism” of philosophers lol
