Mexicola is typically type A and Fuerte is type B whomever planted those knew that they would pollinate and help each other grow massive with maximum yields for years. I planted a Haas and a Fuerte tree near each other for the same reason.
AJ you should make more videos like this documenting every interesting tree you discover. I constantly do avocado tree spotting in San Francisco Bay Area where I live. Tons of huge old trees up here as well.
Once avocado trees get huge, they don’t need much maintenance or care. They become pretty resilient and self sustaining. I would water it in the summer maybe once a week. You can get away with once every 2 weeks
nice on AJ. i have not gotten consistency from fuerte and have decided to top work. i think they taste good in January though. pretty much the best thing there is in january and february. i wiah it was reliable.
Thanks Brad. Yeah I wish Fuerte was a more consistent bearer too. Have you ever tried the Nowels Avocado? Apparently it ripens around January and it’s supposed to be pretty good, but I’ve never tried one.
What an incredible tree.
Wow very nice thanks for the sharing
I haven’t tried to graft onto Fuerte. I’ll try that next time I can grow some. Thanks for the tip.
Sure thing. I love your videos
Thanks, I'm going to plant a Fuerte in Santa Cruz county.
That’s a biggun!!

That’s a great point. Didn’t think of that. Thanks
youre in my neck of the woods. there are giant avocado and mango trees here everywhere!
Yes I love exploring that area. So many beautiful fruit trees all over

Thanks Pat. I plan to. It's fun to visit different neighborhoods and check out the fruit trees there.
Them trees can become large if not kept in check
Whomever shaped that tree, made it perfect to climb and harvest. I would love, to have some of those scions!
Yes it’s a very climb-able tree!
Any tips for caring for a fuerte tree? I have a huge one in my yard.

@@AJTheGraftMan haven't tried Nowels and don't have a tree. if someone has the budwood I would graft a tree and grow one.
Theres s big Fuerte in Bellflower ca thats 50 feet by 40 feet and has over 2,000 fruits , i can tell you its location
Wow… yes sure I’d like to check that out
Haas is black fruit, Fuerte is smooth. Whittier is where it started
Bro mine is 100+ years old and it’s way bigger ! I thought it was mine at first 😂
Nice. How many avocados does it produce usually?
Put a photo please. My tree is about 12 m height
hey bro new sub! Ive been looking for some fuerte or even some pinkerton budwood. If you have any to spare let me know if not no worries.
Hey man thanks for subscribing. Send me an email ajsgarden123@gmail.com
Avocado too talk. It is a big 🌴
Those look seedling trees. Grafted ones do t live more than 50 years . Or produce as much
You are wrong. These trees are definitely grafted, and grafted trees live well past 50 years
That's Haas you're weighing
Avocado never ripens on the tree.
