It's good he responded professionally and cleared the misunderstanding. I am sure everyone asked a stupid question to a healthcare provider at least once.
Not me. I keep it business and I keep it moving.
Yes, I ( a retired RN 0) did it several times...😅
Not if u have literal common sense
Ask a stupid question you’re stupid for a minute. Not ask if, you’re stupid for a lifetime.
My then 16 year old son once told me that quote, forget who said it.
There are stupid questions and then there are stupid questions.
Austin was the perfect guy to explain this to the frantic dad to be
Austin is the best of the best. 🙂
i'm trying to imagine ben explaining this and ... i can't
When you're a guy and you ignore that part of biology class in high school... Only to realize it was actually really very useful knowledge 😂💀❤️🔥
@@DashboardCookies 😂... Better Ben than Rich 🤣
E: although Rich would have probably just conned Austin into taking over this situation anyways 😅
The wife is thinking "I hope the baby doesn't inherit that from him."
“I’ll be right back” after I’ve told every nurse in the hospital and stopped crying with laughter 😂
Exactly, a professional makes sure they're out of earshot first XD
In the 80s that was the fax machine.
😂😂😂😂😂
He went away thinking "why did you let that man get you pregnant, girl??"
@@Bahamaria Not why. HOW.
Austin goes to such effort to not let the Dad know he is an idiot. So cute.
Not to mention that his wife hopefully chews up her food. 😂 But I do appreciate and have high respect for all the medical staff that are patient or compassionate enough to not make their horrifyingly uneducated patience feel insulted. ❤
😂
It just goes with the territory
Chewing the food is nothing compared to the entire digestive process. What is passed to the baby is digested by the mother' body before it travels down the umbilical cord. To the baby's sfomach.
@@jdorbon That's not how fetal nutrition and the umbilical cord work
*patient's
Whenever I ate tomatoes, fresh in a salad or spaghetti sauce or anything while I was pregnant, my baby would kick like crazy within 20 minutes or so. I'd do it on purpose to watch the show.
You stopped at the best part! I want to see Ben's and Rich's reactions when Austin dishes!!
I second this!
I third this!! Pleeeeeeease with marinara and parmesan on top
This deserves a reaction. But one minute probably isn't enough time for that glory
Yes!!! There needs to be a part 2!!!!!
Me too!
welp... props to him for being a loving and protective father and husband
Nah he's too stupid to reproduce poor baby 😂😂😂
😒 if he is going to react this clueless for the next 40 years....
@@DancerSakura Look, if he's gotta be on one end of the dad spectrum, better it be the hyper-overconcerned dad than the "have fun being a single mom" type.
@@iainballas it aint that deep
@@iainballas yeah, for sure it's better, especially compared to an abusive one. even though the one in this clip is super comical 😂😅
That poor woman's probably having gut pain from listening to her husband giving her grief for 2 hours over how shes going to strangle the baby by eating spaghetti
No, it's the ulcer from the stress she now has because she realizes the probability that her child might be "just like dad!"
I can just picture Ben going, "If she chewed and didn't swallow the spaghetti whole, it won't be long enough anymore to strangle the baby." And walks away. 😂
🤣🤣🤣
Plot twist, the mom is a pelican.
So glad I grew up in a family that prioritized education, as did my pediatrician. He always talked to me first and explained everything to me.
This is an amazing thing!
@@jenniferbates2811 I judge every medical professional by the Dr Strayhorn standard.
@Kat Brown completely understandable.
I recently watched „The Nanny“, were Fran gets her twins and I think I know now why people are so uneducated about birth 🤣
* positive pregnancy test 5 days after the conception
* ridiculously tiny belly for twins
* when she goes in labor she immediately screams
* lying in bed the whole time while in labor (the poor woman!)
* no back pain or anything during pregnancy with TWINS 😅
@@Supvia ooooh yeah! Both pregnancies folx thought I was having twins due to size, even the docs! 😂 I’m not sure where the five days positive pregnancy test is coming from.
i read the title and my brain immediately thought of a baby fighting spaghetti
Same here
Well, that’s what the dad thought, too!
I thought it would be a baby choking on spaghetti
@@bjasshjaskjdhkasj same
@@GeorgeABMoore no the dad thought a fetus was fighting spaghetti
Can we just acknowledge the acting skills here?! The facial expressions alone deserves an award!!
At least he cares. He's got the spirit and that's all that matters.
Well it’s the most important thing but no his ignorance will matter when he makes bad decisions in the pursuit of safety that are actually more dangerous
@@M_SC true but that can be learned and he clearly cares enough to do so.
@@razorflossrazor2937 so its not all that matters, then, is it?
He’s a little confused but he’s got the spirit
Fear and anxiety often render otherwise normal people into an irrational version of themselves. Kindness costs nothing and will always be better than sarcasm or rudeness. This skit was great.
If there was someone in the ER that could answer this question it was definitely sweet baby Austin. And bless that poor man heart that first baby is a doozy
I thought the baby had been eating spaghetti and had choked on a noodle 😅

1. No matter what, keep that baby inside for another 12 weeks at least. 2. I showed a patient his CXR. He asked where the missing rib was. Honey, that was Adam, not you. 😄😉
Stupidity aside, it was absolutely adorable to see the dad freaking out like that. I mean.... I wouldn't trust my mom either when she says she's fine. Lol
I mean, he’s not stupid. Ignorant, definitely but not stupid. Ignorant is when you don’t know something. Stupid is when they don’t know something, but don’t want to know it and will fight with you over it. That’s being stupid. The guy clearly is not there.
@@ntmn8444 I always saw those definitions as the other way around....
I'm studying to go to nursing or med school and i dont know if i could keep a straight face if someone asked me this
You'll learn to, no worries. And you'll find it's a very useful life skill to have! 😉
You have no idea!!😅
This is only a taste of some of what you will see/hear over time - you get used to keeping a straight face while trying to figure out the best approach to some patient/family teaching if required.
What was his reaction watching her eat the spaghetti? "Are you trying to KILL the baby!? Stop that!"
*slaps plate off the table Will Smith style*
Stevie’s facial expressions are gold !! 😂 Hollywood should do a movie with you and only you in all the different roles!
I think he confused digestion with gestation. Some people 🤔
Yes, the baby is in a different part of the body than the spaghetti. 😊
I want Austin to explain to me gently when I'm being irrational. ❤😂
Honestly this is why we need better sex education. We need safe places for people to learn about pregnancy and labor where they can get accurate information and won't be afraid to ask dumb questions. Also good on the husband. Better safe than sorry
If they kept to biological facts and didn't encourage masturbation, sex outside of marriage, sodomy, etc., that'd be great.
@@nunyabizness3777 random people, and even bigots will still do all these things. you just can't prevent people, young or old, from exploring their body and preferences. it's not about encouraging these type of sexuality (which are, ironically, "none of your bizness"), but to avoid ending up in the ER or getting STD's (or undesired pregnancy) because of not knowing how to proceed safely.
@@Ysckemia If it's none of my business, it's none of little kids' business either. Kids don't naturally think about screwing each other up the butt; those thoughts are put into their heads by others. Schools shouldn't be one of those others.
@@nunyabizness3777 kids are not kids for a long time. of course you don't go deep into details about how sex happens ith little kids, but if by "kids" you mean "teenagers", the more they know sooner, the less they will try, or let others try dangerous things on them later on. also, you don't get to decide if people will become gay or not. besides, even heteros like sodomy. BOTH men and women. it's really not a big deal, if it's done properly, between the limits of MUTUAL CONSENT. maybe you should try ;)
@@Ysckemia "The more they know sooner, the less they will try"? Chyeah, that's why over 20% of Generation Z is calling themselves LGBT now. I see you trying to get people into sodomy. Very noted, and you prove my point. You're the exact sort who should have nothing to do with what other people's kids get taught in schools. However, if you want to do yourself up the ass, go for it.
The dad was too freaked out to not ask a stupid question. That doesn’t make him stupid. It’s good that Austin was there to calm him down.
If it were anyone other than Austin, this would have ended with, "It's okay. . .I dont have to be married to him." 💀😂
These skits you do make me almost miss my clinical days. So many great stories
All of the nurses are the absolute best 🤣 I'm sure Ben would have called Austin and be like, "Prego couple with pain. Go. Now."
He absolutely would have done that. 😂
It would be the right decision too, sending them a compassionate educator. Pranking Austin is a nice bonus 😂
Austin is so sweet, I bet he enjoyed that joke by himself ☺️
And this is why we need a better educational system in the US folks. Tying school funding to property taxes is absolutely insane. Rich kids will get a good education and poor kids will get left in the cold.
Props to having a spaghetti baby video same day as Dude Dad's baby video mentioning "spaghetti".
I definitely saw the crossover humor.
Which is why I thought due to the video title, that the word spaghetti was code for something

I think your channel has some of the best comments section on the Internet. Everyone telling their stories of their loved ones or themselves is another form of entertainment and education in and of itself.
“Ohhh its fine :3 i’ll be right back”
Why do I feel like he snuck away to tell his coworkers xD
😂😂 Bless his heart!
This videos are the only time where i hope the stories are real ❤ i love these patients haha
I wonder what Austin was thinking in the last shot. It looked like he was going to mess with Rich & Ben once he told them about spaghetti baby's daddy to them.
Austin is adorable-- the lip pursing to withhold his laughter, the curled up fingers to illustrate uterus and stomach, and the cute eye rolling as he walks away.😆💜🙏🏼
Austin's face.... he's so nice all the time but this is a real challenge.. 🤣🤣🤣
I love Austin's professionalism. I could tell that he wanted to laugh himself silly.
You & Fire Dept. Chronicles do awesome public health PSAs, you should collaborate 👍🏽
We, the medically ignorant, really need more Austins. We know we are ignorant. But we know you know. And it only takes a second to help us understand.
Can you imagine thinking that the fetus is in there with food being just plopped on top of her head every time the mother swallows? How does the baby not get digested in that scenario? 😂
I saw the title but was busy so couldn't watch right away. Then I googled "spaghetti baby" because I wanted to make sure this wasn`t about something depressing. What I discovered was that people really like to post pictures of babies covered/bathing in spaghetti.
These videos are a wonderful way to tell ER stories.
Such amazing facial expressions for each character. Well done
I remember when I was little and thought a baby happens when a woman and man kiss and their saliva mixes and forms a baby in the woman's stomach. I also thought the entire abdomen was a stomach, felt amused when I learned exactly how many organs are crammed into it in basic science class.
I also don't have any brothers and didn't live with my father so I was shocked that boys had something waaay different to pee with.
omg i love it when good people ask really dumb questions. its those silly things we can laugh about that take away some of the awful things u see every day
And...these are the people who are breeding.
The helpless feeling of being a worried father....
😂😂😂 - oh dear! Well done Austin for keeping your sh!t together!
Austin is so patient!
Damn even Austin was challenged to compose himself.
That over-panicking new parent brain. 🤣
Omg! Poor Austin! 😂😂😂
I've had some of the most intelligent looking men asked me the wildest questions while doing an ultrasound on their partners😅 in their minds they can't rule anything out
I’ve known several men who think ladies pee out there vaginas. My husband mind was blown when he discovered the truth in his 30s 😂
Well at least they're truly concerned. Need to go back to sex ed but they're concerned.
Someone needs to be recommended for anxiety meds 😅
What's sad is there's people like this out there that their parents and school failed. Men and women both, I'm glad my dad's in medical and my mom wanted to make sure I had knowledge about all the parts and what organ does what etc. They even broke out my dad's EMT books to show me lol. I wish more parent were like that. I've been told that I can just "shut my period off" when I don't want to deal with it.. like there's a kill switch or something the closest to that is birth control lmao
Certain birth controls can stop your period. I don't recommend using Depo. Had a terrible time coming off it.
Yep...then we've got Florida's dumb governor trying to make it illegal for our schools to educate Anything about reproduction! 😟
@A it wasn't using it that was the problem. It was when I stopped using it. It took over a yr for my cycle to come back, and even when it did, I was extremely irregular. I ended up being diagnosed with PCOS. I suspect that the depo caused it because I was VERY regular b4 taking it and I didn't have the crazy hormonal mood swings I do now. It has been about a decade and the only thing that makes me regular is birth control pills. From half way through the pack till I have my cycle I have to fight being depressed, mood swings, and lack of motivation to do anything. When I was taking it, it was worse because it would start about 2 weeks after my cycle and last till the next one, any where between about 4-10 weeks. I hated to go back on birth control but am grateful my Dr recommended it.
Yes, sadly I think there are a lot of people that don't understand that a woman has a uterus and a stomach.
Someone needed to pay attention in health class
I shouldn't be, but I am still often amazed at how much a human being does not know about the human body. Don't even get me started on how many people think medicine goes to only specific parts of the body... and nowhere else 😲
Tbf, how exactly drugs influence the body isn't super common knowledge, at least not down to the anatomical and chemical details. Not to mention, a lot of schools honestly do a *really* bad job of basic education. I don't think it's something to shame people for unless they're being intentionally ignorant, malicious, or making uninformed decisions when they could've sought out the resources to learn.
Most doctors are at least as stupid as this about their car, and/or home maintenance.
I mean... Medication distribution is actually a pretty complicated topic.
He bout to go gossip 😂
His response is amazing! Just love his character!
That was humorous and adorable!
Austin losing his innocence before our eyes
Lol
I had a girl in college tell me she didn't swallow because she was afraid of getting pregnant. Like do people think we're just bags of soup in here or what?
''Bags of soup''.
A clear statement of he husband's understanding of anatomy.
Cracked me up.
😂😂
Omgosh glad it was Austin checking them in ❤ he’s so sweet and understanding
I though a baby 1v1ed spagetti.
Reminds me of one comment unter a video about menstrual cups. The guy said it was such a convenient product because women also don't need to go pee anymore when wearing a cup because it's all held inside the body that way. I first thought it was a joke and later found out that there isn't any sexual education in a lot of states in the US. It's just another part of the body with it's functions in Europe. Toddlers already have a brief understanding how babies are made and education gets more and more specific with age. Teen pregnancies are a very rare occasion because people know how their body works way before they can reproduce.
Wonderfully helpful Austin. And such a great father this concerned man will make. I can imagine lots of spaghetti dinners in the family's future.

Props to caring dad. He's stupid, but he's trying XD
The stress of nurses have to go through
God Bless them for their patience
he's a little confused but he's got the spirit!!
I wonder what Ben's response would in this situation 😂😂😂
you know "I'll be right back" is code for I have to go or I'm going to laugh in your face, and I'll tell the whole ER staff while I'm at it.
I worked at a hospital prior to social media. Having the funniest, grossest or most unusual patient story gave us our 'likes' back then.
This is what happens when schools think that the human body is pornography, like the situation with Michelangelo’s David
Austin has realized why Rich is so angry all the time.
I am absolutely on the floor over this one. The looks Austin gives kill me. Unfortunately people are this uninformed. Do more of these with Austin please.
The Faces..... I'm Dying! Lol! 😂🤣🤭👏👏👏
Anyone else ever forget that this is just one man? I get so lost in the story and the acting is so good I sometimes forget.
tell him the baby is not breathing and watch him faint.
That LOOK at the end killed it! 😂
His heart was in the right place 😂
🤣🤣🤣 I never thought of all the odd things people think when it comes to the medical industry.
I remember in high school sex ed class, a girl raised her hand and asked very innocently that if a pregnant woman ate a ham sandwich, would the sandwich be all over the baby's head and make them sick. Everyone laughed at her but I felt so bad, she honestly did not know the difference between her stomach and her uterus at 14 or 15 years old.
Poor Austin...he gets all the delicate explanations....
Man, you need to be in pictures/movies/dramas because you are freaking awesome!
stevejoe is way too funny! How he comes up with his material is crazy.
It’s from real scenarios.
It's from working in the field. LOL.
I believe that these are all things that have actually happened in the ER! Amazing, right?
Well not everyone understands human anatomy so good on you for clearing it up
That’s sweet the way he explained it all. Yet I feel like if your about to be a father then you should KNOW how the birds and the bees work. 😂😂😂
I have to say I love Austin. I want to work with him. I know nurses with the same personality and way of speaking. They seem simple and timid but do they know their stuff.
One time my sister gave my daughter (first child) a bottle without diluting the formula. Naturally, I freaked out, thinking she was going to be poisoned. When I called the pediatrician, a.k.a. Dr. smarty-pants started laughing. He said, "Give her some water and shake her up."
😂 Dr smarty pants 🤣 "give her some water and shake her up" 😂 i am dying lol 😂🤚
I thought you couldn't shake a baby tho 🤨
@@JustAnotherShopaholic You can’t, and you can’t give them water either. I’m not sure if the story is true but either way, jokes like this is a good way to kill babies with gullible parents and get the parents’ lives ruined. It’s not funny.
