Claire and Lionel just acknowledging the comments and support for you two most adorable couple, if it was not for the TV screen we would be sitting at your table having a good old chinwag. Good to see the River flooding as it will flush out all the silt etc ready for your monthly Kayaking adventures. Out of curiosity what brand of tea do you drink? Keep up the great work, episodes and Chateau updates, take care be safe and God Bless you Lionel and Claire 👍😇🤩🙏🥰
Hello Claire, I just received my bookmark. LOVE IT, and Thank you for the postcard with the picture of the Chateau. I will frame it and hang it up in my home. You two are a bright sunshine, and Thank you for mentioning Florians and North Carolina, giving your blessings. You two were the only ones that made a comment, and I watch all the Chateau Vlogs. Thank you!
Hello, yes indeed LA is an interesting city. We are moving on 20th October to the Southwest of France in the department of Gers in the country near the town of Condom. We bought an old large house last year and in a few days will finally move in. Looking forward to a quiet live with working in the garden and furnishing the house with pretty antiques. 😊
If I remember correctly you watch Chateau Owner's vlogs. For paint 'Escape to the Dream' I think uses a French company, and others use Little Green paint. Have you watched Simon on 'The Pethericks', where he does plaster work for Billy's big project on the convent they purchased. The plaster is white, lime based and French. They buy it from their local Brico. I always dreamed of living in a grand house as a child and I enjoy watching vlogs from chateau owners mostly, plus a few others like 'Not quite a Chateau', 'French Farm house diaries', etc. We live din a 1912 Tudor revival house here that needs many renovations finished or done. Thank you for the much laughter you bring in you posts. Ronnie, SK
Hi LA! I love Los Angeles, many years ago I had an amazing evening at an open mike night at a bar/burger place on Melrose where everyone was talented, so hello from La Vergne ❤️
Oddly enough I too also just finished a massive Downton Abbey splurge (series and movies). I was two episodes into season 2 when I found out Maggie Smith died. It gave new meaning to viewing the rest of the series. She was a gift to us all. Love your videos!
Thank you Ellen, I agree about Maggie Smith, I photographed her at home in London many years ago, great series, we are now bereft with nothing that comes close to watch!
Have a suggestion for what to do with the apples. Apple pancakes. Make you favorite pancake batter and then place a slice of apple in your pan and put batter over. cook until golden brown on each side. Delicious.
You might watch some of the older Pethericks vlogs and Simon who is a true master of plaster as he gives a lot of tips, in older vlogs more so than right now.
To me you both are the Waldorf and Statler of the Chateaux World (just younger, prettier and much more positive...yet as marvellously entertaining) 🤩 Btw...love that you want to keep the house a home yet still using it for events.. events like that seem to be a good balance between privacy and earning some €€€€€. Nothing against bungalows but somehow I just cant see you in one...
I never knew their names! I was going to say surely not as grumpy 🙂 Thank you though maybe a format we could adopt critiquing other Chateau vlogs (just kidding). The bungalow line is a recurrent joke between us...
Well guys you should try driving in South Africa at the roundabouts and non working traffic lights ( I believe it’s a case of SAS He who hesitates looses). One takes one’s life in our own hands 😂
Another interesting, off-topic, funny episode from my two favorite people in France now. Oh dear, I just realised that all the rest have died... Anyhow.....as you know from our email exchanges, I really care about your huge project and about you two, as you know. I am just so sorry that my personal situation health-wise prevents me from showing up maybe in Paris, or closer, and ringing you up and saying, "Oh by the way, I am about an hour away from you. Could I possibly come over for a few hours/days?" 😂🤔 But that is obviously not to be, so we will be long-distance friends in the way we can for as long as we can. Good ideas about raising money in ways where you don't have to pay a percentage to anyone. (we all know who they are). Car show, mini-antique fair like British Antiques Roadshow (they might be interested if you have enough space and they have access to enough electricity and all), perhaps an event of music which would interest several age groups - jazz, pop, classical, and all. No "rap music please." That could be tremendous fun and you could also have a refreshment bar and place where people could buy patisseries or other non-messy, simple hors d'oeuvres, that could withstand cool or warm temperatures (apple cake and cookies?). There are so many ways to promote and raise money in classy ways so you don't seem to come out of a David Copperfield book. Anyway, great fun watching this. You have your heavy rain (Lionel just told me about the river flooding), and I'll hope for you sunny skies and no more rain, and we seem to be over the Florida storms now also. By the way, in the future, if you try to work with "brown mousse" on the walls by yourselves, remember to never plaster if you are "plastered" yourself, or you will regret it greatly once you and the plaster are dry. 😂🤪🍾🍷🍸🥃 - Best always, D. in IA USA
I would love to have a mini music festival here, maybe over 2-3 nights with a different style of music each night so there is something for everyone. Thankfully the river is going back down to its normal level now, we drive past the local dam/reservoir and the level is still very high there. Plastering whilst plastered sounds like great fun - we could host a plastered plastering party! 😂😂 Claire :)
I disagree, film makers love all of France, example further South has been used.. I can only imagine your lovely Château could be used as the vendee has a lot of history....😊
My point was not that any filmmaker wouldn't like the Vendée, what I meant was more a films budgetary constraints in that, if the crew live in or around Paris or Nice, they can go home in the evening, it's unlikely thte would live near us! So the cost of accommodation for a crew of 30 people is a serious consideration hence productions tend to be made nearer big cities where film talent live, though I guess if our chateau was the perfect fit for a movie we would indeed have a chance!!!!!
You always make me smile, you two! Your honesty and humour is top notch!
Thank you :)
You two are the funniest chateauvlogpeople I know, and I watch a lot of chateau vlogs! Greeetings from the Netherlands and France.
Thank you so much!
Lionel, in our local paint supplier it has a sign . If you are a man picking paint colours you must have a note from your wife!!
Heehee, Claire here - I think thats very sensible 😂😂
Love the ideas you have for the chateau!
Thank you! Always open to suggestions too :)

Oh good lord that sounds good
My miniature dachshund also loves carrots. He insists on one after his breakfast!
Wonderful, they are very insistent aren't they?

I'm with you....much prefer just plaster, not board and tape. Can you say "Christmas Market"!! Claire and Lionel's Ladder Ballet School!!
Ladder ballet school now you're talking!
@@OurChateauLife There's always the Plaster Party!
It can't rain forever (Il Corvo) I am so happy you will not use your chateau as a b&b or something similar but for interesting events as you said 🥰😊
Thankfully it has stopped now!

Lacteuse plaster, I think it is called in France, which is absolutely brilliant.. just like the English plaster.
I shall ask Rob about it next time I see him!
❤😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
