When you do a "soundproof" demo, it would be appropriate to turn off the background music and stop talking so we can actually hear how well it actually dampens the sound.
It is obvious that it will block high freq sounds, you don't have to hear it from youtube to know that

Grandforks, bc? Roxul... I did their roof with this product, its heavy, nd doesn't cover much surface area/sheet... But all in all, its a good product. Does what it says. Pretty neat watching "how its made"
The sound blocking characteristics of rock wool depends on the frequency. Lower frequencies will not be blocked as well as the high frequencies of the little alarm that was used in the demonstration. It certainly is better than fiberglass insulation.
Personally, I think rock wool should be mandated by codes and fiberglass should be banned. Fiberglass offers zero fire resistance. Rock wool is amazing.
that pendulum machine is awesome. i'm about to insulate a concrete basement in USDA climate zone 2, which means insulation is important. what's the difference in R VALUE between fibreglass and roxul?
also, fibreglass itches like hell. is roxul the same or better?

Are the binders used in Roxul toxic to humans?
Do the binder cause "itchyness" to the skin? If so, how to prevent/remove?
I don't know about Rockwools binder, but being familiar with a rivals products, I'd say the best way to prevent itchyness is to cover yourself well. And if your skin gets in touch with the wool, rinse the dust and small fibers off with cool water so it won't get into your pores.
It's the small fibers getting in your pores, everyone is different but it goes away after a shower.
What about dem fibers getting lodged into your lungs... Did everyone forget about the other mineral miracle fiber already?
What are the VOC given off?
