      Yes, I have seen huge changes. A simple one to give is I use to leave with money in my pocket for 2 weeks of fuel, repairs, hotels, lumpers... one days of fuel today can cost more than the full two week expenses 48 years ago.

      Pretty sure they blocked off routes at the time that were dangerous.
      I got to see/hear them blast a pack off the mountains around Banff NP as a kid. It was impressive. :)

      Fun Fact: The Canadian military was also used for brutal slaughtering in WWI. It ranged from raiding enemy trenches in the middle of the night and slaughtering the sick and injured along with everyone else, to burning down a village because some dude was sniped.

      I Think it was to stop imperialism. It certainly worked!
      The plus side was that after the war the rest of the empires collapsed as well.

      The troops are supported, albeit a lack of funds here and there. That is what makes our forces great though! Canadian forces engineers and officers are well trained and equipped to retrofit older tech into modern top of the line systems!
