Inflatable Sailboat Sail for Inflatable Boat or Dinghy (Sailing Zodiac)

- The Maxi Marine portable telescoping high performance sail rig (prototype) quickly attaches to an inflatable boat's oarlocks and bow tow ring on SIB/Roll-up or RIB, making an inflatable sailboat or sailing dinghy. A patented "V" shaped Bi-foil water foil at the base of the mast and rudder act as hydrofoils to lift and reduce the boat's hull drag for higher performance. The articulating bowsprit with a furling spinnaker or jib are optional, the mainsail is tacked or jibed around the front of the mast which allows for a high performance low foot. The patented sail rig (sail kit) has been specifically engineered and manufactured to be affordable, without sacrificing sailing performance.
The sail rig will work on but is not limited to the following major inflatable boat manufacturers (PVC or Hypalon): Zodiac, Bombard, West Marine, Mercury, Quicksilver, Avon, Achilles, Saturn, Boatstogo, AB, APS, APEX, Brig, Grand, Caribe, Newport Vessel, SeaEagle, Sea Eagle, Walker Bay, Novurania, Grabner, APS, Seapro, ALEKO, Stryker, Delphinus, Honda, Bris, Flexboat, Falcon, Aquapro, Zodiac Cadet, Aquamarine, Aakron, Nautica, Maxxon, Mako, Aquos, Watercraft, Defender, Intex, Intex Mariner, Hydro-force, life raft, Sevylor, rubber boat, life boat, rubber raft. Similar Rigs: Smartkat, Ducky, Minicat, Happy Cat, Evolution, Tiwal, Dinghygo, aquaglide, aquaglide multisport, Sailboatstogo, Tinker, Tinker Tramp, Portland Pudgy, SUP, Paddle Ski, Hobie, Porta Bote. Boat sizes meter (foot/feet): 220-230-240 (7 ft/2 M), 250-260-270 (8 ft/2.5 M), 280-290-300 (9 ft/3 M), 310-320-330 (10 ft/3.5 M), 340-350-360 (11 ft/3.5 M), 370-380-390 (12 ft/4 M), 400-410-420 (13 ft/4 M), 430-440-450 (14 ft/4.5 M), 460-470-480 (15 ft/5 M), and will work with recommended hp outboard motor or electric engine.

Maxi Marine you are not fair!
I'm thankfully for what you share and appreciate that but is not enough 😃 You sales some dreams for us and we are waiting for more informations! I love the concept of the spinaker sail that you made in the beginning of your video! Definitely show us how it work and we'll buy it! We are waiting for tutorial from you too! With all my respect I give you all my force to complete this awesome projet! 💪🏻
Thank you for your interest in our prototype, we've had some delays because we want to release a versatile product which requires testing on many different inflatable boats and under different sailing conditions.
thank you
Hi. Given no progress on this, could you share the drawings or whatever material you got to open source this? It looks amazing and you seem to have solved more than a few technical issues I see with most rubber dinghy sail conversions
I think I'm going to experiment with this concept and use one of my old inflatable beds, modify it, and try to use it as a inflatable wing sail on my canoe. Lol....Seriously! Then when you are ready to dock overnight, just deflate or take it down and sleep on it.
Glad to hear that we may have inspired you! :)
Mariner Intex and DinghyGo are specialists about inflatgable sailboatgs. Zodiac only makes simple dinghies . They seem to have no experience of sailing.
True, although Zodiac has fast planning hulls.
Will it work with a air matras?
👍👍👍 !!!
I guess this idea never worked out?
Might as well buy a AquaMarine purpose built one.
Cheers
The idea works well, but we have been flooded with orders for our trim tabs for inflatable boats which tied up our assembly. We are also working on a smaller survival sail rig that will fit in a small carry bag.
Will it work on a RIB?
+oceanrib
Yes, it will work on a RIB as long as it has oarlocks, we've added it to the description. Thanks,
Greetings! Any news on the sailing kit?
Greetings! Unfortunately, we've been too busy keeping up with the demand for our inflatable boat trim tabs and haven't made the sail kit available yet.
@@Maxi_Marine Thank you for the prompt response. I have a small rib which I mainly use for spearfishing and I was hoping I Could use the sail as an alternative means of propulsion. Good luck with your future projects.
+1 Are there any daggers or skegs on your boat? Thanks.
Yes, a patented "V" shaped Bi-foil water foil at the base of the mast and rudder act as hydrofoils to lift and reduce the boat's hull drag for higher performance.
@@Maxi_Marine hello
How many knots?
As with most planing performance dinghies the upwind maximum is about 7 Knots and 8 to15 Knots downwind in moderate to near gale force winds :)
@@Maxi_Marine 🤣
Any news on this sail kit? Don't see it on your website.
We are making additional modifications and starting to setup production. If the weather permits we will have a new video showing how the hydrofoils work and the rig tacks. Thank you for your patience!
We've also added a reefing system that quickly stows the sail on the mast and makes assembling and disassembling the rig much faster.
I'm waiting to see these improvements! Please let us know the progress of the design and features!
So sketchy. Would have flipped if sitting in middle. You were literally hanging over edge with all your weight. Yes it was sailing, and fast, but you crazy lol.
Like all sailing dinghies it's the only way to go fast, but you can reduce or trim the sail out and relax!
@@Maxi_Marine I havent sailed, but thinking about equipping my raft with a sail. I have a seyvlor raft that could probabally be fitted.
We are working on a smaller version for smaller inflatable boats.
@@Maxi_Marine what news of your sailing rig?
We're working on releasing a smaller version first, for ocean survival or if an outboard motor malfunctions.
