Once skilled workers in a factory used to be able to support themselves and their whole family. Nowadays skilled workers in a factory can barely pay the rent.
And it's the skilled workers that make the money for the managers and office staff in their ivory towers.
And that is how, the rich get richer, and the poor get poorer, while the middleclass is dying off, this is all bye design 🧐
This!!
Why haven’t the so called “skilled” workers been investing some of their salaries in assets like stock ?
Poverty results from financial illiteracy and stupidity.
Just eating, drinking and watch prime time TV shows won’t make you rich.
Well... it's supply and demand. You doubled the workforce (women) and continue to let in illegals keeping wages down, so what do you expect??
America's middle class has been fading away for a long time now, you have to be blind to not see it. Lack of affordable housing will only accelerate it.
An currently the banks are quietly buying up millions of homes across the country. My biggest life long dream is to own my own home. I've never had the blessing of that. I'm in my 40's now and I'm actually getting nervous it may not happen for me.

No one went to jail for giving out loans that were predatory, with initial low interest and payments, to a huge predatory interest rate. The government could have saved families instead of banks. The banks that caused the market crash were saved. The banks wrote the loans that destroyed lives. And the banks got richer off tax payer handouts.
The oligarchs never go to prison or get anything but slaps on the wrist on top of bailouts at our expense. Look into the post election of FDR the oligarchs tried a coup back then. It's often deliberately concealed in history. They had $500 million in cash back then and a large private army. Yet made a fatal miscalculation by attempting to recruit general Smedley Butler. He reported it to FDR who in turn wiped the records of the oligarchs involvement in high treason off the records.
They were going to coup the USA due to FDR's new deal. They didn't like money going to WE the people. He made an agreement with them don't oppose the new deal and they get off the hook for treason. The very USA was founded by slave owners and people who committed genocide.
The very history books lie the reality is these founding father's wanted to be the new bourgeois. As who do you think determine what goes in a history book? They didn't want to answer to the crown in England. They wanted to expand westward via manifest destiny and rake in obscene profits. Shay's rebellion was put down one of the numerous examples. They want the poor to be cattle or livestock slaves in all but name. If the poor rise up which is the elite's biggest fear. They will murder them from starving out striking Chinese workers on the railroads. To The coal miner wars of the turn of the 19th century. To 1000s of other historically well documented incidents.
The British massacred 10's of 1000's of their own citizens during the strikes in the mid 1800's under capitalism. By sending in the military to slaughter as many as needed until the strikes were ended.
Also, wtf is PMI (mortgage insurance) for? All those mortgages that went bad had to have had it because they didn’t put 20% down. Apparently Americans have been paying that extra money on mortgages for nothing all these years. Every time I’ve borrowed on a house they would tell me “the PMI protects the lender in case you default because you don’t have enough equity to cover legal expenses and whatnot”. But when all those loans defaulted, the government gave them or tax dollars instead. Where the hell is all that PMI $ ?!?!
It’s where the people who don’t know the difference of states loan ability to give them and not,the SEC miner fines for these banks because if there was some major penalties there might not been such the fallout and regulations agains these practices.IE like one bank charging people over draft fees for every purchase they’ve made took about a decade for them to get a fine that was probably a fifth of the overdraft fees that they charged.
Obama discovered an old Carter law called the Community Reinvestment Act from 1977. Basically told banks you need to follow through with this, which they did. Handed out loans to people who had no business buying a house. Foreign investors assumed like always Americans would keep paying on their houses, not knowing what was going on so they bought these mortgages and lost their asses.

how
But when we demand and kind of relief we get told we're entitled and spoiled... Yet how exactly are we spoiled? We die sooner... Live in mental anguish... Get told we're weak and worthless if we complain... Are up to our eyeballs in debt... Risk homelessness... Being shot at random... Have horrible education... Literally told we should work ourselves to death and be greatful for the opportunity to do so... Can't buy a house... Can't afford a car... We almost can't afford to eat... How is this spoiled?... And yes it is your fault... We're not demanding the high life... Just a chance to actually live... To be safe healthy and happy... Y'all told us to dream big... And that we could do anything... But an individual can only do so much... We are at the mercy of a system that exploits us... Then punishes us when we fail which we were set up to do... Why don't you pull your head out of your ass and wake up... Because we're hurting, struggling, and suffering and I'm getting damn tried of being told we're spoiled when our lives are living hell... Working harder only matters if it is rewarded... The hardest working people have the least... It's not all your fault... We are the products of Society... Broken societies produce broken people... There is only so much we actually have control over in our lives... Stop believing the lies... Your are not a failure... It is a failure of society to not allow you the tools and opportunities to succeed... In this day and age with the amount of technology we have and advancements we've made... We can feed the world several times over... We have the tech to run the world sustainably... The medical knowledge and treatments to have everyone live longer healthier lives... In the past these things were impossible... But they are here Now... The only thing preventing a truly modern utopia of prosperity are those in power... The future is here now... But like it always has been those that allowed for the creation of all this... Will never be able to reap the benefits of what they put the most into creating... Those that have had the least have always worked the hardest to build up and enrich the few... There is no real reason for any child on earth to go hungry or die of an infection... But unfortunately the greed and exploitation has destroyed our planet and the powers that be are perfectly happy to let us all suffer in the long run for a quick buck... I have no solution for this... But we were so naive to ever expect those with power to ever life a finger to aid those that have none... Yes our technology, knowledge, understanding, and abilities have advanced to an amazing level... But the hearts of the greedy and powerful never did... We are after all only human... So should we ever have expected anything less...

It’s ironic when someone like Bernie Sanders tried to level the playing field a little bit, the outcry was him and that movement was too socialist. But I don’t think most know what benefits socialism is. In the end, most are losing out on the fact that they are being stubborn.
Not just stubbornness. It's ignorance. Most people who vote Republican do so without questioning why. Just bc their family or God forbid .. their church decides to vote for a sexual assaulter like trump then you're gonna vote for him. Even when it's against your own actual beliefs and actually harms you more than helps you. I've seen all too many people vote Republican when they themselves are living on disability and getting food stamps. The sheer amount of cognitive dissonance that takes blows my mind. The rich have brainwashed the ignorant uneducated masses to keep them in power even when it harms their livelihood directly. Truly a sad world we live in where people will blindly defend a sexual assaulter and someone who has committed treason while simultaneously being harmed by the bills/laws that person enacts. Yet still will defend them to their deathbed. People refuse to question anything these days.
There may be some benefits to socialism but I'd say there's a long list of dangers too. Being reliant on our corrupt government is short sighted and ultimately strips our freedoms even more than they already have been. There has never been a successful population that has relyed on their government to take care of them through socialism. Our founding fathers had the right idea with very LIMITED government, the only bad part is that throughout the years our corrupt government has made itself massive
@@jval6459 There has to be a balance though. The current "limited government" system has shown to have flaws where the rich get richer and the poor are kept in their place. I mean, all I think people are generally asking for is a level playing field when it comes to healthcare and education. The argument of "freedom" is also a complex one because I think what is provided now is a fake sense of "freedom".
@@jauipop that's the thing though, we don't have a limited government right now, they are huge and tax us to death. The biggest con pulled on consumers is gas prices
They fluctuate in an instant based on the possibility of a future slowdown in production but really the consumer is paying more just so that the gas companies and can continue to make the same profits or more without taking any kind of loss

The greatest comfort with being a little on the older side, is not having to see the worst things that will unfold further down this road!
That was the point where financially America became completely backwards. And it why we are beginning to fail and ultimately will. You can't tax the poor to pay the rich. It doesn't create additional growth, it impedes it, and creates a class of elite that are too risky. If they would have divided all of that money up between homeowners and the middle/lower class. We would be thriving right now. Middle class spends money and would have boosted the economy, and the institutions that fail would have been replaced by new groups of people who were beginning to leave the middle class and enter the upper class. You Can't save the upper class, it's a waste. You make it more possible for people to enter the upper classes. That's how you create a world class economy. And that is the number one reason we were on top for so long. And it's why we are now failing back and soon may fall behind to other sections of the world. Upward mobility is the only thing that matters.
The only truly shared human experience is suffering... And far too often instead of showing solidarity and empathizing with the pain of others... We in the throws of our own misery... instead of wanting relieve that pain we are witnessing which would in turn actual lessin our burdern harde... Our heart harden and we embrace he dark parts of the human soul and only desire to inflict more on those we see beneath us... We are a doomed species... When we see being cruel as a sign of power... And love and compassion as a weakness... There are those that can feel the pain of the world... And we desire nothing more than to stop it... But it is in our utter inability to do so... That we are agonize in our existence... Yes life is cruel... And unfair... It grants power to those that embody the worst traits of humanity... And destroys those that embrace and embody the best... Those caught between the two ironically choose to seek protection and guidance from those who by their very nature wish nothing more than to punish and destroy them... I can only sorrowfully laugh... For that is the ridiculous of existence... We are a doomed species... And my heart breaks for us... But I can do nothing but watch and lament in the folly of the lost lambs of the world as they seek comfort in the jaws of wolves as they flee from and shun the shepherds how would actually protect them... We are a doomed species... We embrace our destination and wear as a badge of honor our ability to do so... The consciousness, self awareness, and intelligence we take such pride in and use as justification to see as poof of our superiority... Only shows our ignorance and arrogance... For who can we believe for even a second that we are the epitomy of what a species can achieve... When even the most lowly of creatures serves a roll in adding to the flourishing of and enhances the wellbeing of the world... When this gift of enlightenment we hold so dear and take pride in... I do not see as a gift... But the ultimate curse... There is true irony in a species that upon realizing that it has the power to destroy the world stead of understanding the this power must be held in chec, utter most care taken and be humbled in knowledge... Instead to enforce our superiority and to affim our dominance we immediately set forth destroying the mother that had granted us the ability to understand the need to protect her... Gaia doomed herself by granting her children the ability to acknowledge her vulnerability... observe her beautiful... and embrace her abundance... And what did we do? Poison the very womb that birthed us... raped the body that sustained... Tormented, brutalized, and annihilated her other innocent creation... It’s strange how existence seems to create the mechanisms for It's distinction... For even the universe will one day give itself over to the quietness and temperance of death... But we are a doomed species... Not because of some cruel twist of fate... But because when given a chance to make that choice the powerful choose to doom us just to prove they had the power to do so... the just and true wept for they were to few and powerless to stop it... And the weak rejoiced... for was in their weakness, arrogance and ignorance that they allowed the powerful to do so and rejected, shuned, ignored and demonized those that had only wished to protect them... Not only from those that would devour and exploit them... But from themselves... long enough to realize and build their own courage and confidence to make the right choice...
What the hell are we waiting for?
I am definitely not on the side of the greedy bankers. Their greed is the primary reason for the crisis and they definitely should not have been bailed out, but some homeowners must admit to their part in their losses. There are some people out there who may not completely understand how Principal and Interest work but I think that people today are smart enough to understand it. If you buy a home you cannot afford and make interest only payments you have to realize that you will never pay it off. Especially if you buy one with an adjustable rate. My brother bought a house at the time these types of mortgages were being pushed on people and he asked his realtor what happens when the rate goes up. She told him that he was the first person ever to ask that question. So he got a 30 year fixed rate mortgage. Average people wanted large homes with a “wow factor” so that they could impress their families and friends.
I worked in the mortgage industry at the time doing data entry and saw people with bad credit buying homes based on stated not verified income.
The banks and loan companies did that. They would put their pay rate up so they could sale the house. I know. Us it make the people that's selling these houses look like a great sales person. But your bosses would tell u to do that.
Food has almost tripled for me personally.
So they can figure out how to save private companies but they couldn't figure out how to save three million people from losing their homes? They should have applied everything they did when covid happened to this situation
True! The elites will be protected! And all of us slaves will be left to suffer and die.
@azurr 🅥, i wish that happens! hahaha! but the problem is, the slaves are like rabbits, they make babies all the time! hahaha!
@azurr 🅥, we are glad to be enlightened at an early age! The best decision we made was not have kids! I pity this generation! They have no future anymore!
There is many reasons. One is the rich understand how wealth is created. It’s like asking why hard training athletes get stronger and why average people who don’t work out get weaker.
Fabulous piece. The irrationality of it is jaw-dropping.
What it doesn’t mention, is the fact that after the crash, it was the gov’t that owned the homes, then when those homes were resold, those in high political/economic power made even more money! 🤬 Gov’t is NOT to help the people, but to help themselves!😡
Seems like the people in the bottom half should get a 30% payout... since stocks are up
If the TARP bailout would have paid as a credit to my mortgage, I could have supported it. Like, if it was $30k per taxpayer, knocking down debt for thise who had it and cash to those with no debt. We'd have all benefited.
Instead, my home was underwater for like 5 years.
When there is a World wiped out of decent trusting souls
The ones that gained without heart will be left
With themselves everywhere.
This is why, to this day, I was adamantly against the bailout. Obama should have let these fuckers (big banks) figure out how to get themselves out of the mess they created. Shouldn't have used tax payer money to remedy reckless lending and irresponsible investments that ultimately jeopardized everyone else. All of that money should have been given back to ordinary people, so that they could spend it and stimulate the economy, how they saw fit.
I just inferred this to someone on here. But was told "to keep this same energy"
Bad choices = bad results nobody os responsible to hold your hand. We have free choice.
thats kinda fucked the idea after some kind of economic disaster the new currency is the 2$ bill and that its probably printed by the same people that most likely caused this said economic disaster.
Yep. The government

The movie Elysium may be more accurate than we thought.
Vice tv is the real mvp.
How many average people actually really tried to get rich. The answer is very few. Most people don’t want the risk and headaches it takes to get rich
You have knowledge 👍
It isn't easy to swallow but it is the truth (I was raised and currently live in low income). But to sit, complain, and distract myself won't do me any good, which is a common problem. It also comes down to integrity. You can be well off financially while properly caring for your respectful employees rather than pocketing the excess profits, like most of the rich do.
@@Zokonhow do you know what most “rich” people do?
@@charlesweaver9297 I like the question. The way I see it, correct me if I am wrong, is if the gap between the rich and poor is only increasing, then wouldn't you start to question the many jobs and careers out there cutting corners to make a profit? Take Amazon drivers as an example. Amazon drivers are not paid properly for the work that they do. Since they don't actually work for Amazon but for DSPs that Amazon partners with, they get zero benefits. Pocketing the profits. They don't need to deal with any of their drivers at all. They want to start a union? Cut the DSP. EZ. On top of that, most DSP owners are not very transparent with how much they make. They can make a lot of money (above $200k-300k yearly, if not, higher) as their drivers keep achieving the highest performance every week. Or they can make a nice $75k-150k if they treat their drivers well. But these DSP owners, don't give their drivers a raise or a bonus. What do they do with those profits? They run raffles. Raffles are small fraction of a bonus to their top drivers. Especially when a mere handful of drivers a month are rewarded with only gifts as opposed to cash. This is only an example. Don't even get me started on clothing brands. It is a mess.
Point is, that gap would significantly decrease if these companies weren't underpaying their employees who can barely pay rent and provide them with great benefits to keep up their morale fairly.
But hey, I make low income. What do I know?
When people realize the POWER government has is borrowed from the people that doing nothing. Do something and the POWER will be Returned back to the people. Elect Leadership that only wish to borrow the people's power for the best of all THIER people ,not use it over them as a Weapon aginst them. Just HAD to talk about nukes didnt ya Vice?
Especially during a wartime where nuclear weapons was mentioned.
Very sneaky but i see you ;)
All it takes is everyone standing together and guess what. This wouldn't happen. Instead you're all to weak and afraid to put your lives on the line in order to save your lives.
It never trickled down, it trickled up!!!

How can I find those $2 bill bunkers?
Mind blowing stuff
Only real solution is too educate children about how money works so when they grow older we can have adults who are more self reliant
The last 40 years have been far worse than the great depression. It's just been good for some.
how worse
little did they know we'd be using bottle caps instead
This will just happen again and again. So the only thing you can do, to try and protect yourself.
This is what happened after Covid. Inflation and taxes, they had to figure out a way to get the money back. Makes you really wonder
2008 could have been handled through federal homeowner vouchers that paid off those bad debts at the financial institutions, and when the instructions handed over the vouchers with supporting documents showing loans paid in full they would receive the cash minus 30% as capital gains tax. My feeling is that the government would have paid out to these banks considerably less money by handling this in that manner, and in the end capitalized off it at an immediate 30% and an additional 10% over the next five years in income taxes on the homeowners at 10% over five years. The same could be done today on government and nongovernment student loans. Cash on hand for the financial institutions, and extra money for the student/ex-student to spend back into the economy each month. The government if our public servants weren't so indebted to the oligarchy could legislate a minimum 39% tax rate on corporate profits made here in the USA. Not dissimilar to that on overseas profits of 15% minimum tax. Now we come to wall street 39%.
That would evade the point. The goal despite whatever the narrative is to continue to make the rich richer in the most direct and ridiculous way. They literally hide in plan sight with the corruption
This is all over the world. Rent prices are through the roof all over the world and income doesn’t keep up and people are struggling.
Great title bro!
damn- this was good- and sad for me
Can we engineer a world based on science, technology that is without money, barter, social classes, borders, nationality, taxes, wars, etc. please? Thank you
😂
Not gone happen. Nice thought tho
Not without greed, greed creates all wars, and exploitations!
And greed runs in the blood of humankind!!
Don't hate the elite...be part of the elite. Remember, if it's good enough for wall street, it can be good enough for you. Learn to invest!

It's hard to get mad considering people vote blindly based on pro-capitalism talking points.
Why are you on capitalist UA-cam then ?
@@AR-gu2no is there another free option?

Successful people don't become that way overnight. What most people see at a wealth, a great career, purpose is the result of hard work.

This is outrageous
And yet there are still people who aren't rich who think markets and capitalism are great.

How the rich get rich, the federal reserve keeping interest at near zero for a decade, insider trading, political assistance.🤣
Does anyone know if the banks have paid back the money they received from the government?

Wow…another CUTTING EDGE RED-HOT take from Vice 🙄
Right? I thought all that was the intro, but then it turns out that it was actually the end. It’s like 2 slices of bread for a video, where’s the meat? 🤦🏼♂️
Sooo…eat the rich!!🤷🏾♂️
Vice getting back to its roots? Good.
Mount Pony belongs to the national archives now.
You guys should do a piece on Hunter Biden’s laptop
You should just eat the barrel. We’re tired of your kind.
It would get taken down. Stuff like that will never surface on platform like UA-cam and stay up. Only hope is if Elon musk would be able to buy twitter, cause that would make twitter the only legit FREE SPEECH platform. The stuff media tries to cover up would be posted all over the platform if he buys it.
If the laptop would have been that good Trump and Barr would have released it before the election.
