- Homeless dog keeps following people on the street, trying to get the help she needed. This rescue is a very special one because Lily is the last dog that Catalin and I rescued together.
Friendly with everyone and loving, playful and funny, but at the same time very kind and obedient, little Lily is a great dog who will make a wonderful addition to any loving family. She loves cuddles, belly rubs and squeaky toys. She is around two years old, up-to-date on all required vaccinations, microchipped, spayed and she can be adopted internationally to the USA, Canada and Europe. I don't believe she was receptive to "being captured." I believe, like most living things, gentle angel Lily was receptive to nourishment, attention, affection, kindness & love.💕🙏💕

Here in Canada, we don't really have stray dogs (I've lived here 27 years and have never seen one). If Lily had started following me around, I would have brought her home in a heartbeat. It would have taken literally a minute for me to fall in love with her and adopt her.

I agree so much. I've seen so many videos where the person trying to help the dog gets too impatient and spooks the terrified dog. They're good people with the heart in the right place and nothing but good intentions, but they just don't always have the patience to do it slowly, the excitement gets the better of them and they make the move too soon. This lady was so amazing in how she made the poor dog not even flinch.
That was sweet of her, she is a natural.
People who help and take care of stranded dogs need to be awarded and FUNDED so they can continue doing their angel work.

The problem is, the more you work to solve a problem, the more the other side works to create the problem. If you are willing to take in any abandoned dog, people are far more likely to abandon the dog and they will do it with absolutely no regret.

No, I did dog rescue with several volunteer organizations. People exploit problems to enrich themselves, this area is no different. I suggest you foster for some animals and find out for yourself.
Money doesn't fix the problem, trust me.

Look, it really isn't that much work to foster. There are people that will abandon a dog without a bit of regret, you are wrong if you think people don't exploit existing situations for their own profit.
I would caution you from trusting anybody. For all you know, the people "saving" these dogs, injured them in the first place. Sociopaths do exist, and they often want validation about "what a good person they are".
If you want to fix a problem, you have to do it by leading by example. Giving money to somebody that promises to fix it, you better be in the organization to see how that money is spent. Government takes in money all the time promising solutions to existing problems, when is the last time the government actually fixed a problem? Government is packed with sociopaths.

Its not so easy. I would already adopt few cats for example. But there are people with allergy in my house. I can't risk their health.

I remember there was this one stray dog in my neighborhood that everyone would leave some food in their front yards or sidewalks but no one did anything to help her find a home until one day someone called the pound and god knows what ever happened to the poor dog. I wish I could’ve done something

@Kathy Childress .......Of course no one's talking about people like you! I'm sure you've never been homeless before....as it's happening though. You are overwhelmed, panicking, losing everything....not knowing what to do or where to turn. Especially, if family won't/ can't help, etc. Worry about your pets & family! Even then.....if you did see a Animal in need? We ALL can do something. Give them water, leftover lunch, a hello, etc. But, most of all a warm touch, a few pat's on head, a nice talking too, etc. Good luck with recent situation.....I pray that you and EVERY member of your family is going to come out on top!!

I've officially asked if I can be considered in adopting her. I've applied on their website and I've sent them an email. I know she's the dog for me and I'm hoping she wants me as her owner. I'm hoping to get her before Brexit, so the EU pet passports are still valid. Fingers crossed.

I dont know, that big ballon of Barney the Dinosaur getting all torn up in the parade was pretty funny.
It never ceases to amaze me how many street dogs that've never had vet care will sit still and not snap/struggle through their first examination while blood is being drawn, ticks are pried loose, and thermometers are stuck up in unhappy places. Sometimes it's almost like they know the intention is to help, even if it's uncomfortable.
That's exactly what I was thinking. They really are made to be with humans.

@Vulgaritar : Yeah I feel the same way. I believe they know that all these people around her after rescued are good humans with only good intentions. I’ve seen some abused stray dogs behaving almost as good as this Lilly after rescued, even though they still have some issues, that tells me they definitely understand the situation and intentions of humans around them. Animals are basically borne to be only knowing good intentions since their natural mind is all innocent... ❤️

I can’t imagine the pain these dogs go through on the daily and just how much they suffer hurts me so much I wish I could save them all
Baby Lunar you and me both. I have a pit outside, but she is taken care of. Someone discarded her, my grandson found her and brought her to my house. They had no place fixed for a dog and we did. He wanted us to keep the dog until he could fix a place at their home. Every bone in that dogs body could be counted. My grandson was crying like a baby at the condition of the dog. Well a couple of years ago, he told me that he was ready to take her home with him. I told him, “no sir, it has been to long now and she is not going anywhere”. There was no way I could let her go, she had been here about 6 years. She is a very sweet and loving dog, she is so big and ways over 90 lbs. We really had no idea what she would be like when he brought her here, but here she knows she is loved, fed and cared for.

When the woman caress lily's face, she gently placed her head in her hand.... i watched that about 10 times. Had tears in my eyes.

I caressed my friend's hair and face sitting on couch, when she was sad for some personal reasons. And she did the same on my palm and went to sleep. I didn't move for 2 hours...

She's not in as bad a condition as some street dogs I've seen. She probably was someones pet but was dumped for some reason. She seems starved for attention though, so good work.

The stray dog is so patient .she let the doctors take blood sample .she was not even biting or barking.and she was not even wearing the mouth guard.such a nice dog

Me, too. Had my street rescued Irish Wolfhound for 11 years. He had the sweetest and most loving personality, and he adored kids. I think the rescues are the most loyal because they know you saved them.

I was actually taken aback that she didn't even flinch with the thermometer ... I think she might've thought "If it doesn't hurt a lot, I don't care". Also the fact that the girl who feed her was there too helped with the anxiety.

I'm Romanian, and I see many dogs on the street following people. I feel bad for them. I can't really do much as I already have 8
But you can do something you can contact a rescue. You can take them food or ask for donations to be able to feed them. You can stop and pet them hug them talk to them and show them that not all humans intend to harm them. Thats what I did before I was finally able to open my own rescue

Franzi it breaks my heart too, but sadly, you simply can’t help every stray you come across. It’s expensive and time consuming. Once I’m an adult I’ll try my best, but it’s simply impossible to help everyone. Surely even you have ignored a stray, and not because you are cold hearted.
Sometimes you have problems in life, and you loose money. You have barely enough to feed yourself, so you can't take care of anyone else.

HUNGER PAINS Wait till they are about 700 to 800 lb teenagers and want to roughhouse , a little fear is a good thing .Btw I am 6'7 285 lbs and have pushed around plenty by calves that were sick or got sick and we basically hand raised them , they are not mean ,they just want to play.
